What is the difference between 1- and 3-part? Did you just re-arange the images in the tars? Have you added a datafs, like it is "normally" included in 3-part firmwares? What is about PIT files?

unfortunately there is no "easy" way to root found yet, all involve flashing FW specific files or CWM's
i think your best bet would be this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1170498
however, for that to work, you would need a CWM for that specific firmware which does not exist yet (and that might take some time since skin, the one that usually creates the CWM's for I9003 is MIA)

anyone noticed any Difference in this firmware ???
Nothing much except the language pack and APN support, Further than that, I don't see how different it is. I have been wondering if you can use the CSC and combine it with XXKPH so you have arabic APN and support.
yeah not much difference as Misledz said, and for those who wants to root, use CF-ROOT for XXKPH but u will loose wifi connection. well enough to restore some apps and do some root required things.

To be honest i don't know.
PIT file is normally the partition table layout of your phone's NAND.
Did you try running odin in admin mode? Or perhaps another version of odin? Try a lower version of odin if that version doesn't work.
The thing is people need to post in the correct sections, this has nothing to do with own source-based development
This post is in compliance with the national potato safety regulation.

General section !!
if you did't make it, it doesn't belong in dev section.
The guy who made this has a thread in this section already.. see: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2219803
Then i don't see why we should create multiple threads over a single topic

Sincerely, the thread was well written and I think it's good, except by that there's already a few threads like that! Specially because you're not talking about a new method, AFAIK there are two ways to root GT-I9505, one for Windows by Chainfire and my one for Linux. I think you should post this tutorial in general, then it would be better placed, after all you're not talking about any development.

There seems to be a distinct lack of gratitude here. Thanks for the guide, worked fine first time. Just clicked a few buttons, waited a few pant****ting moments while the android went red and then breathed a sigh relief before sparking up a post rooting ciggy... (last part is optional and may damage your health).
Edit: Amazing those letters get censored even in the middle of a word. What happens if I want to tell you that I was watching the tennis and Federer was hitting his shots badly. Surely it's perfectly reasonable to say he mi**** a lot of shots. He did many mi****s, he was mi****ting all over the place?

how is it ? hahaha
I assume it shouldn't be mandatory so if you want to be on the safe side, don't re-partition.
I downloaded it also, but am waiting for the IT guy to come enter the admin passwd (at work and don't have admin access lol) so I can start odin.
So it's not necessary to flash the PIT file right ?

Hi!
I finally managed to purchase the S6.
It came with a custom ROM (from previous owner) (see pic).
My questions is:
1. Does this mean I already have a custom recovery and therefore I can flash any rom I want?
2. On a PC, what are the first steps to enable flashing of new rom (I am interested in XtreStoLite 3.3.1 as it seems to be stable).
At this point I am not sure where to start (info is overwhelming; the more I search the more confused I get)
THANKS!!!

I would say flash to stock latest so there's no incompatibilities then install latest twrp then install the ROM of your choice. It really just depends on your personal preferences tho

Thanks for your help. Really! I am stationed in Israel for the next 3 years. I had no idea this matters one bit by the way
I would use smart switch if you have a PC because the firmware that your phone is on its the beta firmware for Android 6.0 if you use smart switch your granteed a stock restore. Just do emergency recovery and it will fix your problems

Do you mean this software?
http://www.samsung.com/us/smart-switch/
PS - I thought the F already got Android M
It did but the one you have if you look up the baseband numbers you can see they are from the beta and the security patch is from January that's why lol and yes download that and when it pops up click options in the top right hand corner and click emergency resrore

For some reason this Smart Switch software thinks my phone is the Edge variant. I guess this is because it is running a rom meant for the Edge.
Also, it doesn't show anything regarding returning to factory firmware
Thanks for the help
