Any way to o/c on ICS? Running this ROM right now, it obviously doesn't have much support for different frequencies. I assume I need a different kernel, but I'm not sure what I can and can't do here since the ICS leak is already a brick waiting to happen in my hands (I have really bad luck with technology)
Of course you can o/c asap you make kernel for yourself that has oc!!!!!

Anyways, to answer OP's question, no.
must.....resist...urge....to....troll...
no overclock until kernel source becomes available, which may be awhile

I'm competing against a xoom in another forum, I'm at 1500, he's at 1700 barely topping me...
So any kernels to match that? Or a suggestion?
Running new baseband with cm7 89nightly. I'm on faux new 1.4 kernel. The 1.55 locks up my device...
Help, I must beat him..lol
EDIT: what kernels yall using for CM7 and the new baseband?
Also not stating that the 1.55 ghz is what locked my device. Could have been just that kernel itself not liking my phone, the rom, the baseband, etc. So, any help would be appreciated. THANKS GIVEN
1.55 locks up your device, but you are expecting to run at 1.7? Let me know how that works out for you.
You don't wanna know where this was sent from.

that was just dumb. that 1.55 with this baseband locks it up. I was running it just fine before I updated. And I figured maybe its just this latest version, or maybe just Fauxs.
There are many variabls. Also thats a UV Kernel right? That could have been the issue.
Not helpful at all, and actually more of a dumb comment. minus a thanks for you buddy boy

btw cuz i just rooted the other day wat is the best kernal tht i should use
gnufabo suggests stock but i think blades 2 is the best
With the latest firmware update, all custom kernels have become unstable, including blades. People have reported their TF locking up with custom kernels. The only custom kernel that isn't unstable is clemsyn v21. Unfortunately, there's a battery drain of the dock with this kernel.
For now, until the kernel devs figure out what the hell is going on, the best thing for yout to do is use the stock kernel.
I havent had issue one with Roach's overclock kernel set at 1.4

This is certainly good news. What's happening is that different people are reporting different results.

I think blades 2 is OK haven't had problems but I'm just gonna go back to stock ;-)
Using Prime v2.0.6 kernel since Monday and it is stellar. No problems whatsoever. 3300 on Quadrant too!
I've actually been just fine with the Blades 2 kernel... No issues whatsoever - not even any excessive battery drain. OC'd to 1540.
How would i got about flashing a new kernel?

Flash the Kernel thru CWM and you wont have to worry about the counter.
no Not all Kernels are compatible with all roms, but we only have four right now any way. and one is a CM7 kernel so you only use that with CM7.
the others are Romracers stockish kernel, Da g's OC kernel, and the Stock kernel itself.
just read the kernel OP it will tell you if its for rogers or at&t.
i personallly dont like to recomend roms and kernels....so my advice is flash away and find one that you like
good luck
thanks for the reply... im interested in the oc kernel, have you tried it? and do you think its worth it to oc? is it stable? i know its has a fast processor on stock so i dont know if overclocking pros really outweigh the cons.

i personally LOVE to OC, but Da G's kernel does have its hikups....and i have been using his Kernels since 0.1 and its now on .43 the overclocking is great, it does seem to make the roms run smoother, but i seemed to suffer alot of SOD's while using his kernel. but they are patches that you can run, like the one in TPCs Rom Thread that may fix that.
but not eveyone experiances the same stuff. again i would just try them and you make like them.
the stock kernel is fast though, but once we get a stable OC kernel believe i will be oc'ing to the max trying to melt my phone.....
Just flashed the CM 7 kernel with the Sky Ice Cream ROM. Now my phone won't go past the Samsung boot screen and I can't get it into recovery. NEED HELP PLEASE!!

I've recently flashed to an ICS rom, and I am now trying to figure out what the best kernel is to run with it (I'd really like to see one that maximizes battery life.) If you are running ICS, would you mind please posting what ROM you are using and what Kernel you have along with it. Also, take a second to explain the pros and cons of that Kernel so we may all make more informed decisions as we prepare to potentially flash one...
Thank you kindly!

I would say Faux123 its a good kernel and its good for a good battery life.

Does faux123 support voodoo sound? Also is it compatible with Hellfire?

I believe Hellfire already added faux kernel in the newest rom 1.4 check this thread.

it does appear he did....thanks for that! ...and I'm still up for any other suggestions floating around out there.
Is anyone else getting really choppy video playback with this rom?

Mr. Apocalypse uses Harsh's kernel for Genesis. Owain uses Harsh's kernel for his ICS build. x0xhellx0x uses Faux's kernel for Hellfire Sandwich. I think you can use those as starting point. I like Morfic's Trinity kernel because you can OC to 1560.

Everyone is. NVIDIA has yet to release ICS drivers... so there is sub optimal video on all ICS builds.
We await the official release.
i would recomment the harsh kernel 1505 oc i love it smooth nice battery. i'm against faux it's good in battery and fast, but when you try doing too many stuff it starts hanging

Hi
I am with Wind Mobile and have gone back to the Froyo 2.2 rom which came originally installed on the phone due to GPS issues with all of the other roms.
I am actually pretty happy with the performance and stability except the amount the battery lasts as compared to other roms.
Could someone recommend a kernel I can use with the stock froyo rom to get maximum battery life without compromising on stability.
Thanks in advance

Yup, I thought you had to have root to flash other roms.
I just wanted to know people's experiences especially those who have used another kernel with Wind Stock Rom. Or if you know of a kernel which is stable with most roms and will likely increase the battery life? I have tried Trinity in the past with CM7 and it was pretty good... would that likely work?
Thanks

Well, i havent try kernel on stock rom only custom roms.
Is good idea, but would make sure first if one one kernels are good stock roms

Sorry, I didn't quite understand the last part. Would you know of any specific kernels i should try like Faux or Trinity?

Well, some times depends on your phone sometimes it does not like some how kernels.
Try using Faux thats my first choice sorry devs but thats my chose, and if it gets laggy (slow)
Try using Trinity, thats my second chose, its pretty nice but like i said depends on your Device, its strange on how phones reacts on the custom kernels defferently .
