This is with mild usage? im at school for about 7 hours and phones almost dead by the time i'm home.

I have facebook and the widget going and it barely even shows up on the battery monitor at all. Hmmm...
Android System is draining a lot more than usual though.

Strange, I never wiped from the GB rom I was using, I just hooked up odin and let it install. I havent had ANY problems with ICS so far.. no reboot issues.. app f/c or anything .. only battery issues

How often does it push data? I have mine set to 4 hours

Yeah I realized after the fact that I had just rebooted my phone. Brain fart.
My phone is still alive after that screenshot. It's been 2 and a half hours and I've only gone down to 5%. Not bad at all. I've been texting constantly as well.

I noticed this on a recent ROM install (Superlite 4.5, although I don't think it's specific to that rom - just worth mentioning in case it's related to a component in there). My phone's been on battery for 2 hours, it's at 70%, 25% attributed to FB.
Task says FB is using anywhere from 20-40% CPU when idle. That seems to happen only when I switch to another app while in FB. If I just "back" out of FB back to the launcher, FB exits and isn't in the task list.

Facebook App has always been known for battery leak issues; just use your web browser. Same thing and no battery leak and no notifications almost real time.
but if you are insistent on being glued to FB 24/7 then it's a sacrifice you will have to give to be "connected" 24/7 lol

But lots of people don't have this problem. A friend of mine is also on cm9 and tried it on hydrogenics too and has absolutely no background activity... We checked every system setting. Nothing. Why? Can u explain?

Eh, it's more like scotch-taped to FB. The web one works fine, but the ability to upload photos directly to FB is why I keep installing the app. Maybe I should learn to do without "like" validation by posting pics of my cat.

let me clarify, FB app for most Samsung phones will have this leak; maybe it's Samsung. You could try V6 supercharger script to tweak the memory settings a bit.
Skyrocket doesnt have official CM9 support, is your friend running some CM9 that we are un-ware of on an i727 or i727r? lol

I'm just learning about the supercharger script now. I'll play with it.
On the other hand the FB app has been sucking bad for a while in other ways. Like having to hit back twice after looking at a pic. I wonder if it any of this has to do with Social Hub (which I never set up).

Facebook has been draining a lot of batter here as well. More like 15% or so.

I don't care about the official app anymore. Just seen the brand new friendcaster fb app.... It rocks. Beautiful ics design!
I can live with that

you either have a rogue app, instant messenger running, or streaming music running constantly to get only 6 hrs of battery life.
What apps do you have installed or do you have running?
Can't speak to the data2ext and not sure why you'd want to do that, are you experiencing lag?
Very little lag and the only things I leave running is advanced task killer and set cpu every so often ill leave ebuddy running but I shut it off for the fact that it sucks battery life lol

before you get flamed for running advanced task killer - that is probably helping to kill your battery. it kills processes that android will constantly try to restart and this could cause your battery dying very quickly.
remove that, android does a good job with task/memory management all by itself.
I have prob ably too many apps all on sd card tho not real sure which app could be rogue though or which apps rather cuz who knows

Yeah, ATK is a real hog. If you want to be able to manage rogue processes and apps, try auto killer. You can adjust the memory settings for more free ram but still let android handle it. Although I leave that alone actually now, and leave it at the stock cm settings, but still use the process manager to kill any stuck apps

THANK YOU! Well HOLY ISH !!! Got rid of ATK and the phone is way faster . Don't know about battery life yet. Will post up when I know.
Days? I am lucky to get 5 hours of battery on a new phone that barely has anything installed after exchanging it for one that didn't last 2 hours. I have no ATK on it and no widgets because I am scared to kill the battery. I just posted a long post about it on a battery post. Something, I don't know what is keeping my display really high...at 70% consistently but I have my screen to shut off after 30 seconds. I would love to just be able to go somewhere and use my phone without being worried that it is going to die on me!
Make sure you don't have the craigslist app or yahoo mail app installed as that will kill your phone super fast. If you go over to android central I have a write up on how to make your battery last. I got mine up to 48 hours. Look at my battery thread over at AndroidCentralSent From My Speedy Mc Speederson
Will look at that. Don't have either of those running. I have the email to check at very low intervals. Thanks. I am amazed at all these people who get hours from their phone. What would be the item keeping my display up so high? My few programs I use are at 1-3% but that display still remains to suck the battery.
Why the yahoo mail app? I haven't noticed a difference since installing this. I also run it on my epic and don't notice any problems, but maybe I am missing it.
I have been getting really good battery life lately with miui and tiamat kernel. I got 2 days out of it with 20% left. I'm sure could have gotten another 10+ more hours or of it too but I put it back on the charger lol

I'm on aosp rom running shift deck with sparkos kernel. And I get well over a day with this setup. It all just depends on certain phones. Sense roms will usually be running way more battery than an aosp rom will usually do. Just because its the basic form of android. Stripping all that will help.

Battery life with latest ruu(2.11.605.0)

Is it just me or is the battery life from the the latest ruu(2.11.605.0) amazing? I'm at 16.5 hours with out a recharge and I still have 40% battery to go! I'm not sure if I just didn't install some random app that drains my battery like crazy or what but as far as I know all my settings are consistant with my normal setup. Its also worth noting that this is the second day with mega battery as the same thing happened yesterday but I shrugged it off as a fluke.
Please don't flame this thread, as I'm only posting this to see if others have had the same success. My guess is that HTC finally fixed what ever was draining the battery like a brick.
My setup
Latest Stock rooted ruu
3 hour weather sync
4 hour Facebook and twitter sync
2 Google accounts full sync on(ie. Docs, reader, gmail, cal, music, etc. One is business and the other is personal)
Once a day rss feeds
Wifi turned all day connected for probably 60% of the day.
My phone is mostly used for data and text messaging since I only talked for about 15 minutes today.

I have also noted better battery life with the leaked 2.11 release. Don't have any specific numbers or timesframes because I do plug it in while on the road while using navigation. I am very happy with my TBolt right now!

I installed the 2.11 update this morning. After getting things configured I jumped in the car to run some errands and noticed I did NOT have landscape mode after exiting the dock app. This never happened to me on MR2. After the first errand I rebooted the phone hoping it would fix it but no dice!
Anyone else not getting landscape mode on the homescreens (outside of the dock app) when in the car dock? Hoping it's just me.
What's this "Display" thing that is using all my battery and how do I get rid of it?

CL3ANTH3ORY 1.2X is based off of 2.11, and from what I've heard, Revolutionary will still work. If you upgrade and have S-OFF, just flash CWM and then SU.
While we're at it, why stay rooted stock? Seems the OTA will be out shortly and that will cause all sorts of problems-- or at least be an annoyance
Thanks. I may give Revolutionary a try this afternoon.
so guys do you honestly see a increase in battery life with the new base...or was it just in the beginning ?

New personal battery whore record

It's well known I like to be a battery whore, my previous record was a little over 48 hours on a full charge with my Infuse. Today I beat my old record by about....20 hrs!
All notifications off except Gmail. 3g data turned off for about 80% of the time. Wifi on but set to turn off when phone sleeps. I did use the phone, text, talk, surf, etc. Probably would be considered light usage though.

Yea no offense when people give battery stats they give them when they've actually used their phone. Of course a battery will last longer if it's not being used or if no notifications are actually being used. Those are what eat the battery

I never use notifications, never will. This is my normal usage pattern. As I said in the OP, I do use the phone.
Get rooted and remove blot wear
Best way in some sense to get great battery life is get rooted, use Excellent Roms that removes all bloatware and find any apps that are continually running in background and remove them. (Tip) Get titanium backup and backup your apps then remove them but if you need later then reinstall them for future use. Just a few things to mention, so much more to add to save battery. I suggest you just use your phone and try and save in other ways that will extend you daily use.
How much screen on time? That's generally the best measure of battery life, because if your screen isn't on, you're not really using your phone. And a percent usage tells nothing.
My infuse is currently going on 12 days, 14 hours, 16 minutes, 7 seconds since last unplugged with 1 hour 28 minutes of screen on time. That being said, it's because I use it purely as a backup alarm clock without a sim card now that I have my Note, haha. And no, I'm not going to go to the hassle of rooting, downloading a screenshot app, then waiting another 12-14 days to prove it. Just goes to show that battery life doesn't mean much without usage.
Was it with a stock battery

Horrible Battery even with Seidio Ext. Battery *ROOTED*

I know this is one of those things that everyone seems to complain about, but there is definitely something going on here. I have Seidios 3200 MAH extended battery for my ROOTED bolt, yet my friend running the same ROM as me is getting almost double the battery life with a stock battery. I know the first thing to check is if any apps are killing my battery, which I have checked through thoroughly with no luck. I have tried uninstalling these apps with no luck on better battery life. If it helps I'll post the apps I have
- Beautiful Widgets
- Brilliant Quotes Free
- Days left widget
- Draw Something Free
- Engadget
- Facebook
- iHeart Radio
- Instagram
- Twitter
- Yahoo Mail
- Ringdroid
- Root Explorer
- WeatherBug
- XDA
- Zedge
This of course doesnt include the stock apps on the ROM.
Currently running the Plan 9 ROM, if anybody has any tips for getting the battery up to par I would be very grateful!
EDIT: Forgot to mention how long my battery is lasting me. I'm getting about 8 hours before she is sucked dry

Actually it's called "Plan .9" Its only been out for a few days and it's a very very minimal sense ROM. It's missing alot of the sense features as to make the battery better, some people are getting up to 3 days while on it. And the developer is very responsive so far with adding sense widgets and squashing bugs. here is the link...

Yea the Chinese are getting into making bogus crap and selling it in bulk to people on eBay and other places. My stepdad bought a bunch of bnib usb flash drives on eBay claiming to be 200gb and none of them worked. They were some of the best fakes I have ever seen. They were in packing identical to the actual product.

I bought my battery directly from Seidio, don't think its a Chinese scam. But Something is definitely eating my battery, although the battery usage is showing my display as the main culprit.

You're showing 5 hours and you are only at 56%. That would mean you have around 5 more hours. It looks like you made some serious phone calls which would eat up a lot of battery too. I don't know if you use auto brightness but it can help if you disable it and set it at the lowest possible setting you can stand. Another thing you might look into is the Facebook app. It was causing a wake lock on my phone so I removed it and that helped me a lot.

If its a sense rom, try imo 5.2 kernel for sense. Use setcpu for a screen off profile of 245/386. If its desensed alot, you can probably get away with underclocking it to 768. Brightness is huge batt hog, set as low as possible. I have as few things syncing as possible also. Interesting looking rom, i will try it out with my stock battery and let you know.

Ok, its loaded. Fastest booting rom ive had. I did try ziggys 11:05 kernel first, did not overclock, but did set screen off profile. This thing flys, and i havent played much with it yet. Ill let u know more tomorrow.

the best battery life ive ever gotten was from the full blown MR4 rom with the stock MR4 kernel and the MR4 radio
people say that the MR4 Kernel slows the bandwidth down somehow and maybe it does but its awesome on battery life
Thats the thing, I only spent about 15 minutes total throughout the day on the phone so it seems like its eating much more battery than usual. Maybe I'll try a new kernel and see how that pans out.

do you have a link for the imo 5.2 kernel?
Edit: Nevermind I found it -- http://rootzwiki.com/topic/603-kernel-gb-sense-leankernel-minimalistic-kernel-620-5612/ . Trying out the settings you reccomended now, I'll get back with the results after a charge up!
Im at 40% after 9 hours, 56% display, 17% phone calls, other assorted. Stock battery. All in all, id say not to bad.

wonder why mine is that much less... who knows anymore haha
Id guess its your widgets, im completly stock besides ziggys kernel. Tomorrow ill try the imo kernel.
Sent from my ADR6400L using XDA
I'd try to turn off widgets, but also turn off all background running apps.
Seal is a good program to keep apps from turning on imo. I use it to limit usage - on most Roms I get almost 30 hrs of battery life. (Extended battery).
Good trick - overnight I use Airplane Mode and my battery drops at most 5% for 10 hrs.

ICS leak issues thread.

Post all issues with the ICS leak here. If someone else has posted that issue, do not post it. Please search before you post.
This will help me see what i need to try to fix with my leak-based ROM and maybe good for other devs too.
-------------------------
My list
Mirror image is off (as seen here http://phota.me/rWii
Settings says "Develop option" rather than "Developer options" I fixed this in my rom by editing /settings/res/values/strings.xml either line 2982 or 308 i cant remember. (See http://phota.me/gJkC ---> http://phota.me/aak5)

Thanks!
Facebook quit FC'ing with the latest update, but i still have AWFUL battery life.

my battery seems to not last as long but it is not terrible. I am having a hard time getting any tethering app to work.

Google syncs all your contacts with Gmail, so it will restore them automatically.
WiFi figured out downloaded different tether app put on wlan 1. Battery life sucks big-time....facebook app keeps closing.

No it doesnt. Does most, but not all. Ive tried adding the syncing to back up. When i reload a rom, they are gone. Vzw backup gets them all.

I had all around crap luck with mine. I only had it 3 days and I couldn't take it. On the internet, it would hang up, crash, not zoom and even display weird colour. Tether would not work. Facebook was so so. The camera sucked, it would wig out and act like I was looking through acid goggles. Should I continue?

Really? I have yet to see anyone on the leak get their CPU to actually go to sleep. Uptimes and real uptimes are always identical. The CPU doesn't sleep......ever. I have an extended battery and have a setCPU profile to WAY underclock it when the screen times out, but the CPU never truly goes to sleep. I am managing, but it is going through my battery life faster than normal (even in airplane mode it drains).
