Anyone can point a file where ISC Browser saves pages for offline viewing?
It's not a simple file in /sdcard or Download folder...
Please someone could help on this?
Thanks!
I guess nobody at xda-developers knows about this...

I was looking for the same thing - there are no webarchivexml files no where to be found. I need to extract the saved page quick but seems it's nowhere to be found.
It's not on sdcard. It's in phone's root. Here's the path I found mine in.
data/user/0/com .android.browser/app_databases/localstorage/
Look in there
Don't forget to thank if I helped

But how did you open the files? Or they're just "there"...
Thanks!

I can't find there. There are some .localstorage files (sqlite3 db afaik), but can't find my saved pages...
Thread's a bit old ... but just in case it helped someone ...
Android ICS, the browser's save paged is \Android\data\com.android.browser\files\snapshots.db
The links are saved in this file "snapshots.db", look at it using SQLite Database Browser sqlitebrowser.sourceforge.net

Hi rufik
I found my saved pages in : /data/data/com.android.browser/files. The ownership is u0_a60:u0_a60, just for your information.
Hello, sorry to open such an old discussion, but has anybody managed to open and view such files on pc? What is the fileformat (yes, I know it's a .gz archive, but I mean the file inside), what application on Windows (or Linux) can open it? Thanks in advance.

Hello everyone. Although n00bs aren't allowed here, I do want to ask you a question that might be very n00bish. And maybe a little inappropriate. Or asked in the wrong section of this forum.
But here it goes: I want to try and edit a savegame for a game on my HTC Hero (baseball superstar 2010). So, first I tried to locate where all the files for this game could be installed on my phone. I did not succeed.
But with help from this forum, I found out that I might find the files by using Astro File Manager. I can use this app to click on the .apk from the game, that I have on my sdcard, and then choose the option 'browse file'. There, I find a lot of files! So, the first problem is solved.
The second problem is, that I cannot edit any of the files I then find. And I cannot find a file that has the datestamp of today, or yesterday, when I last played the game. Shouldn't there be a very recent file with the saved game data in it somewhere?
For me, it would be a lot easier if I could browse the apk on my desktop with a simple explorer. But if I hook up my sd-card to my pc, I cannot open the .apk. How can I accomplish this?
I hope I gave a decent description of my problems, and hopefully anyone can help me with A) finding out which file to edit B) how to open or edit this file and C) what to edit!
Thank you all in advance for your time and patience.
Use 7zip to open/extract the .apk file. You can use winrar too, but I like 7zip better. I'll try to find a link in a minute, or you can always google it if I don't post back quick enough for you.
Your questions are reeallly noobish ;-P
Apk files store libraries and other static files of your applications - there you could find images, texts, code, etc., but not runtime data like savegames. Look into /data/{package-name}/ - you could find package name in many places, I think it's in Settings -> Manage applications, but I'm not sure.
Very noobish yes
I have done something in the meanwhile, and that is: buy the real deal from the market. I no longer seem to have the .apk, but that should be no problem. Now the real game is officially installed onto my phone.
But ... where? I have tried looking in /data with my file managers, but they say that the folder is empty! So... where are my apps installed then? They must be on my phone somewhere. Do I have to root my phone in order to see anything in the /data/folder?

I'm not sure, but I think so. This directory is read-protected, so apps can't steal data of other apps. And I've mistaken: it's /data/app/{package-name}.
Hmmm. Do you know a good way to do that? I have a HTC Hero with the 2.1-update1 firmware (so my phone tells me!).

I think I'm correct in saying yes. I use RootExplorer and can see my apks in data/app, but if I use AndExplorer I can't.

Hi There,
I've opened another thread to stop the clutter, but: I have installed Root Explorer and used (I thought) Universal Androot to root my mobile phone. It did install Superuser, but when I open Root Explorer, I don't get a prompt to put it on the superuser list... so nothing seems to work. Do you know what I should do, and how I can do that?

You might be best searching your phones forum for a solution unless someone can offer you help here.
Iirc, savedata and settings would be in /data/data/com.gamevil.bs2010/
probably in a folder named "files".
start by looking in there.
other apps would be in /data/data/[packagename]
I've downloaded the lil'messeger free app from the marketplace and it has been since removed from the marketplace. Is there anyway I can extract the xap file so that when nodo comes i can reinstalled the app?
you shouldn't lose any apps or data when you upgrade
yeah but is there a way to extract the xap? i want to keep a backup copy just in case
Rename it to .zip, and extract it.

Use Advanced Explorer. Go into "My Device/Applications/Install/" and open every folder and take a look at the " backround.jpg" until you find the icon of your app. Then send every file in the folder to your pc.
Then pack it as a .zip and rename it as a .xap .

I.e. a place to work on how to extract xaps from omnia 7.
A) There are forums for device-specific questions.
B) There are forums for general (non-development) questions.
C) There are tools for filesystem access that should work on the Omnia 7 (I don't have one; I can't test). The instructions are the same, though the app and exact steps are different. Also, Advanced Explorer has experimental support for Samsung devices now.
I would like to create a .ZIP file of a large folder of files (~6 GB). In order to meet the upload requirements of a cloud service I use, the largest a single file can be is 1 GB. So, I need to create a multipart .ZIP file with each part being say, 512 MB.
I have found a few apps that say they can do this. The other requirement I have is that the process has to be either scriptable or automated in some way. That part I can't seem to figure out how to accomplish.
I have Tasker and I'm rooted so I hope there is a way to do this.
Thanks for any pointers, links, app suggestions, etc.

Search RAR in the play store. It might do what you want. Unfortunately it can only be in the .rar format.

Use WinRAR software to create a multipart RAR file and also choose self-extract option while creating part.
There will be one of all parts which is used to extract all parts automatically but you have to place all parts in same folder for extraction.
Then upload each part into cloud .

An .RAR is fine...I should have mentioned that it doesn't have to be a .ZIP.
I do see that this app will create a multipart .RAR but I don't see how to do this in an automated fashion...?

When you choose a file/folder, under Advanced Options, type in the size of a single part, then click OK. It's automated (unless I'm mistaken on your meaning of automated)

I have a Tasker profile that creates a TWRP Nandroid backup using Online Nandroid Backup. Then, I'm using FolderSync to upload the backup to one of the cloud services. Since the service I'm using has a 1 GB single file size limit, the upload fails.
So, what I need is a shell script (or Tasker plug-in) that can combine all of the files in the TWRP Nandroid into a multipart archive. I have to be able to add the shell script/plug-in to the tasks for this profile. I would insert it in between the Nandroid backup and the cloud sync.
HTH clear it up a bit.

Hey, thank you. I already lost the audios, but I will keep in for the future!
hello
Hello! I've managed to get the .stb files. How on earth does one open these? I'm guessing there must be some sort of encryption?
I'm trying the same thing here but I can't find the files when I look in the storytel folder, it's empty. Did you guys do anything other than just looking up the files in the files manager system?

Hi. Did you find any solution for converting .stb files to .mp3
Hi. Bumping. Is there a way to convert Storytel books to mp3 or any other non DRM audio codec?
Also, does anybody know where are these files stored on iOS (jailbroken)?
It seems .stb files are DRM encrypted and it could be impossible.
The .stb files are encrypted by DES/ECB/PKCS5Padding method. (From source) Full decryption done in client side. Decryption is possible. Any good reverse engineer can do the job.

Not able to find the storytel app data location
I am still not able to find the location. The app data folder under the Android folder has empty folders, no data. I have download 22 books (around 2.3GB) Internal memory has been used but not able to find the Storytel app data. Please help someone.
still no working premium modded version for this application without an account?
Interested
Maybe the easiest solution is to use some kind of ripper?
It is a very common problem among all the audiobooks that you cannot download them with the help of an MP3. You just need the right audiobook and right MP3 that will match with it. I would recommend you see on selfpublishedwhiz.com more information about the audiobooks. How much does it cost to create one, and maybe you will find there the answer at your question.
So, who else is having this problem? Loads of weird files are being generated in the Download folder.
Even after I delete them they reappear. Somebody knows why this is happening and how to fix this?
Thanks in advance.
Incomplete download?
Also happens for me, not just on the op6, also on the note8. I think chrome generates this files.
i had weird files all over my internal storage...also, weird folders...i just deleted them all and everything still works

Make sure your browser has storage permission allowed as that is needed to write the download to storage or you will get a failed download.
Very late reply but go to chrome>settings>downloads>
Uncheckd/ untick "download articles over WiFi"
Off course after doing this articles on chrome will not be available offline
I am having this problem as well. Its only happening when i updated to android 10. And i have reset phone and not given chrome storage permission and still it is able to create those files in my storage?. Anyone know what's happening?
