I just did my first rom flash, mhx lite 3.1 + faux kernel and dx launcher.
I want to know if it's safe and would be useful to install/run V6 SuperCharger script? I read in a guide about improving battery and phone performance it can do wonders.

It's safe to use, but you aren't gonna see huge performance increases.

Well considering I'm not changing roms and even little is still better then nothing I will do it. Next rom will probably be a stable 4.0.3 which just got leaked so I got some time.
Thanks
Be sure and report your results and settings.
Sure tho I don't have what to compare it to considering I just changed tons of stuff.
Another question while your here, maybe you can answer me, on the dx launcher if I put a quick call button on the home and its in Hebrew it shows up backwards, any clue how to fix it?
Erm I cant seem to find any app to install the script with, it claims script manager is incompatible with my device.
You can use terminal emulator instead... Instructions for that is in my OP as well
I downloaded script manager manually and installed it, I think the fact that its a US model on and Israeli supplier somehow conflicted.
Anyway I installed it and lets see how much it helps, thanks.
supercharger had some pretty amazing effects for me when i was on infuse, i imagine it'd carry over.
i'm a little sad thunderbolt tweaks dont work with the skyrocket though

I've been using supercharger since Sean first put it in the SkyICS Roms d/l.
After each new base install, I run it again. After a new update, I fix permissions and then run sclean in terminal.
Works great. I'm on the latest SkyICS update (16) and supercharger still seems to smooth things out. I'm using the free Nova launcher, btw.
Instructions? Easy. Open script manager and scroll to the script in the zmods folder. Click run. Follow prompts. Zep's made it easy to use.
If you're having trouble with script manager, make sure you have "root" checked. Use the supercharger script file in the zmods folder. Don't try to extract anything and use that.

Thank you for the info. I was only able to run V6supercharge at 50% after following instructions. I was stuck at step 9, i was not really sure what to do next. See below instructions from Zeppellinrox:
Step 9. a. In terminal type: cd /system/framework, enter, chown 0.0 services.jar, enter, chmod 644 services.jar, enter
................ ODEX ROMS: In terminal do: cd /system/framework, enter, chown 0.0 services.odex, enter, chmod 644 services.odex, enter
............ b. OR... you can just put it into a copy of your rom and flash that!
Step 10. SuperClean & ReStart! (ie. Wipe Dalvik Cache & Reboot)

The supercharger scripts sets free memory on boot - so it isnt a task killer in theory and I think it sets how much free memory should be made available within the OS.
OP - why dont you try it for us. All it does it set a script to run at boot which overrides the stock memory settings for Honeycomb - which to be very honest are probably superior to the script.
The script 'should' work on all devices, but Honeycomb has good memory management to begin with.
FWIW I noticed battery drain on my phones when using the script and while the OS seemed a bit more reponsive it wasnt really worth it to me.
However, it may be worth a shot. I ask the OP to try it and post detailed results. Thanks in advance.

I'm on Tiamat rom. In order to run this script you have to downgrade the version of BusyBox that Tiamat comes with. However when I use the BusyBox installer app to downgrade to the appropriate version it won't let me over-write the Tiamat version so I can't test this out

Can you let us know what kind of effect this has on battery?
Ok.
So I installed this on my phone and tablet.
Both scripts are working in the background silently and steadily...but honestly i just enabled the OOM and hard to kill launcher for responsiveness for one reason:
- I really dont think the Xoom needs this. Really. I feel that bugging around with minfree values is probably useless cause we have so much memory to begin with.
Is system more responsive? perhaps. But it could be a placebo.
One my phone its about the same - I have a Dinc2 running stock rooted RMK ROM. I really dont notice a difference. lol.

A.1 - About The Rom
What is "Back To The Basics"?:
Back To The Basics (B2TB) is a custom rom that uses the full style of the Sidekick style UI, just without the bloatware and useless crap on it.
Whats in the rom:
Basically its all stock KJ2 with some tweaks to the build.prop, almost no bloat ware from tmobile, and added Apps that i personally like, but, subjected to removal if requested often. Some of these apps include WiFi Kill, Skype(modded for Froyo), and XDA.
Whats the point of making this rom:
The main reason i built this is that i love the stock UI if this phone, i love how unique it is, how its built around texting, and how nice it looks, but, there was too much bloat restricting it. I built on the KJ2 Deodex and removed the bloatware (well the stupidly useless one's), along with adding apps that i use on a daily basis like Skype and XDA. Along on my journeys of looking around on these forums, i found tweaks that could be very useful in the rom that i added to it.

THis will be compatible with AOSP Style 4.x
Also, I have a questions.
1. If I do v1, data will be on the sd, so can I still adb install?
2. If yes, can I install from the phone (market) etc...
3. If I remove my sdcard, will I bootloop?
4. What are any disadvantages?
no you wont bootloop from removing the sdcard, HOWEVER im editing the script because if it isnt present SOMETIMES it will be like a factory reset. so im fixing this now also adb install will still work
ok guys im almost ready to put it back up, and im making it so you wont have to reinstall the rom
Having problems with disabling journaling on the partition, but i will fix that later
Also the pro version is going to call for a THIRD partition for the sdcard just a heads up, ill give directions
How long does it take for it to soak in?
Just a quick question. does this work on the Valhalla-final? i'm not running Black.

if you mean whitehawx version, im not sure its untested on that at the moment
No, it's based off of Raver's Black. Currently, everyone is using 3.x. (valhalla whitehawkx based), 4.x will be based off of Raver's black. Just I still have The task manager "Job Manager", and my own tweaks and framework. But My installer from aroma has customizable kernel and bootanimations. So, I guess it will work fine with a custom installation, but you would have to use the data2ext.

dsex...quick question...is this still compatible with the Supercharger script? I know the previous OP had instructions for modifying a line to make it work. Is this still necessary? If it is can you tell me exactly what I need to modify as I forgot and don't see it in the current OP.
Thank man....
.....it's nice to see you busy in our forum again
Never-mind, the info was in your thread in the General Section....
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=22220712&postcount=6
EDIT: Scratch that, I don't see the sysctl.conf file in V2....so I guess I'm back to asking if this will work with Supercharger.
Here is a ram script I put together. It's sorta a combination between the V6 Supercharger, Kickasskernalizer, and Car-o-Dopes tweaks, it has little bit of all those tweaks in it. So i wanna say thanks to zeppelinrox for the V6 Supercharger and the Kickasskernalizer and also Carhauler1969 and Ropodope for the Car-o-Dopes tweaks. There's also a read ahead tweak to set the sdcard at 512kb which is the optimal value for the Evo 4g.
This is not to be combined with the v6 supercharger, papasmurfs script, niftyconiptionstweaks, or the legit zip because this is different and could interfere with each other. I'd suggest to try each of these separately to find which one works best for you. I have not tried this on an ICS rom so i can't guarantee the settings will stick but you can use rom toolbox, system tuner, or another app from the market to see if they stick.
[Q] What does this do?
[A] It will make your phone faster, more responsive, frees up ram, and could also increase battery life.
Install at your own risk. I am in no way responsible for anything that happens to your phone.

Instructions: Follow Exactly
Flashable Install
1) Make a nandroid backup incase something goes wrong or you want to revert.
2) Download a file manager like Root Explorer or ES File Explorer (I use Root explorer).
3) Open up root explorer and go to /system/etc/init.d. Click on the "Mount R/W" button (that way you can delete files).
4) Delete or move to a folder on your sdcard (incase you want to revert) any ram scripts or ram tweaks you may have that is in the init.d folder (examples of ram scripts or tweaks are 45smurfed, 06tweaks, S97ramscript, 99supercharge, and 98Kickasskernel, or any tweaks from niftyconiptionstweaks or the legit zip) .
5) Also if you are running v6 supercharger, you need to un-supercharge. If you are running Kickass Kernelizer, you need to un-kernelize, if you are running PapaSmurfs script then you need to "un-smurf" and do not run those scripts while you have the ultimateRAMscript installed.
6) Uninstall any ram manager apps or task killers and do not use these.
7) After you uninstall all of that, reboot your phone and verify that none of the scripts you had before are still installed. (it will mess with the scripts you are about to install).
8) Boot into recovery (preferably Amon Ra smelkusmod).
9) Find the ultimateRAMscript.zip you downloaded and flash it.
10) Reboot phone. Let your phone set at the lock screen for about 2 minutes, unlock and let it set for another 2 minutes to let it settle in. Your phone will become dramatically smoother after about an hour. Enjoy and hit that thanks button.

V6 and KAK won't work on ics but carodope will
Edit:it requires service jar edits on the ics rom to supercharge the launcher. I believe RC 6.1 might work with ics not sure

Of course all my scripts work on ICS just like they do an any android device.
The services.jar mod is an addon to get the launcher die-hard on ICS.
Nothing else has even tried

Decided to give this a shot and....wow. Removed all the random tweaks that've built up, applied this and this old EVO is running like a boss again.
Kudos, sir. I enjoy this nice little combo-script.

So in your opinion the memory values from V6 work better than the COD ones?
And I'm also curious why 512Kb is the best value for read ahead - wouldn't that depend on the sd card class?

For me they do on certain roms, since everyone's phone will be different I'd suggest to try them all to see what works best for you.
As for the Sdcard read ahead, I've heard from several several people that 512kb works best and sure enough it does for me too I have a class 10.

I ran it on MikG with no problems. What scripts did you delete? Sometimes if you delete the wrong one your phone won't boot.

I said to only move/delete the ram scripts that are already there lol, don't move/delete the 04apps2sd, 05zipalign, or 99complete. These aren't ram scripts

First of all this the work of zeppelinrox so thank him
Secondly I'll just link you to the original thread since I asked him if I can link it up and
Lastly it works on our HoxL and you must be running Viper Rom since the modified "services.jar"
that he modded comes from Viper Rom. I just asked him if I can test his Mod for our HoxL.
So here is the Original Thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1900626
Use the "services-sense4.1-test5-HOXL.jar" for Viper Rom

awesome.... maybe i can see if he can work with my dev and get it for wcx
huh. running the latest version of viper and I copy over services.jar to the correct place...then i open up android terminal emulator and when i type in SU and hit enter the phone freezes and restarts....but the lockscreen doesn't show up anymore (all that shows is the wallpaper and statusbar) and i'm forced to reinstall the ROM. Tried this twice.
I tried running android terminal emulator and gaining superuser privileges before with no problem.

Happened to me the first time..before you copy the services.jar open terminal emulator first and type su
Then..copy the new modded services.jar to the framework folder
Go back to the terminal emulator and issue the command
*also..do it in.viper Rom without the OTA update installed and no overclock kernel

I actually did this way of installing however i had the OTA and overclocked kernel
Also after you install this on Viper, go into Venom Tweaks > Advance > Minfree > and choose whatever option you think is best for you, i set it to ultimate at first then went back once i saw it was letting to much run that way, Multi-tasking and stock seemed better

Have you tried the latest update? Test 5 services.jar? That's the one I'm using now and everything is good.
Sent from my HTC One XL using Xparent SkyBlue Tapatalk 2
The services.jar should actually be good on other sense 4.1 roms.
The one I made for the EVO 4G LTE sense 4.1 works on all the sense 4.1 roms on that device.
After looking at 4 services.jars from different roms, I noticed they were 99.999% identical - only a single value different most of the time.
So I stopped making 3 or 4 each time and just made the one for all of them without a problem.
So it should be safe to test on other S4.1 roms but of course have a backup plan - tho reflashing the rom would fix it for sure.

yep, multi-tasking extreme just lets your phone run stuff to an extreme level and you run out of ram, lol if used in conjuction
Well, that's what supercharger is for... control the minfrees and let the lowmemorykiller work the way it's supposed to instead of using some artificial app limit

+1 same problem. Any help?
Refer to original thread.
It's been updated but not sure if Test 6 or Test 7 is better
Also tweaked the installation steps to prevent the reboot when typing su in terminal.
