Wallpaper doesn't look right on kindle - Kindle Fire Themes and Apps

I'm using the Kindle Fire Wallpaper changer app from the android market and everytime I select a wallpaper it will put it on my homescreen but it doesn't look right, it's too zoomed in no matter how i resize the picture. Am i missing something??? I've tried resizing as small as 400 X 300 and still it doesn't show the whole picture as my wallpaper

[Q] How do I; Wallpaper sizing

I have a pic in my gallery that I want as my home scree. The only way I know to do this is Apps>Gallery>Image(of choice)>Menu>More>Set as>Wallpaper>...It's at this point I get lost. I want the entire pic to be a wallpaper but when your in wallpaper you get a box that will only stretch so far. How do I get the whole pic as my wallpaper?
I tryed resizing the image to 480 X 800 but the best it will allow is 480 x 618. Even with this, I still need to use the wallpaper sizer.
How do I fix this?

wallpapers for our phone need to be sized at 960x800
Use Dodol Wallpaper Maker
https://market.android.com/details?id=demo.galmoori.wallpapereditor
I normally just download flikkie hd wallpapers and then just move the wallpaper I want into the flikkie folder.

Free+Awesome Wallpaper source

I have been going to this site for awhile and downloading wallpapers for my PC and knew they had walls for Apple devices. So I checked and they have Windows Phone 7 section at a resolution of 480x800 which is the same at the Inspire.
The site is: Interfacelift.com
http://interfacelift.com/
There are pages and pages and pages of user submitted wallpapers. All you need to do is click on the drop down next to the wallpaper you want and select 480x800. Then click "Download."
However there are drawbacks. Currently there are only 108 wallpapers with this size available. If you have an account, you can bulk download any resolution from all the years they have wallpapers for.
Check them out!
Thanks for the heads up... Also if you hit netbook theres a 800x480 tab with like 98 pages.. so theres alot more than 108 wallpapers
Thanks for the link.. But I thought our resolution was 960x800
Love interfacelift. been using them for a few years now.
960x800 sounds like the qhd resolution.

yes, that is the resolution of the image you need to use as your background. If you notice when you scroll between home screens, the image moves slightly, so the background image has to be larger than 480x800.
480x800 is the resolution of your 'screen'.
Use fullscreen 1280X1024. When you choose a wallpaper you should be able to crop. It will just crop the sides off a bit. There are some wallpapers hosted there that are 960X800, but not alot. Have fun sifting through the site!
also here is a pretty nice site with 960x800 wallpapers
Android Wallpapers
I use Flikie Wallpapers HD from the market. Great app

Native Resolution Wallpaper Manager

Using CM7 on EVO, setting a wallpaper via the stock wallpaper manager always produces a blurry, stretched wallpaper.
I have used wallpaper set and save in the past, but I find it clunky and I have to set up the wallpaper folder after each reboot. On top of that, it only sets wallpapers at 640x480 (I think)
Are there any apps out there that will allow me to set a wallpaper to 800x480? I can't find any since searching the marketplace for an app is always a nightmare. Any suggestions?

800 x 1280 wallpaper

how to set 800 X 1280 wallpaper properly so that the entire wallpaper is displayed and not some blurred, zoomed in part of the wallpaper.
P.S: iam using ADW launcher and the wallpaper scrolling is switched off.
To have the entire wallpaper displayed without zooming in you need a wallpaper with 1280×800 pixels (hight×width) not 800×1280

the screen resolution is always specified in W X H format and not in HxW format. so my wallpaper resolution is correct and i don't have problem when using wall switch app.
This isn't q&a section.

Sorry mate my bad I got it backwards
Do you have wallpaper scrolling enabled?
To use an 800x1280 wallpaper, you need to disable wallpaper scrolling.
To use wallpaper scrolling you need to have a wider wallpaper since it needs where to scroll. The perfect (native) size for a scrolling wallpaper on Note would be 1600x1280.
edit: nevermind, I missed the part where you said scrolling was switched off. How stupid of me
edit2: just tried switching off wallpaper scrolling and picking a correct-size wallpaper in portrait mode. Didn't work aswell (I also use ADW launcher). When choosing via QuickPic wallpaper, it doesn't even allow me to choose non-scrolling format. When choosing from gallery or using QuickPic and choosing "set as" -> "wallpaper", it allows me to choose the whole wallpaper but afterwards it is still zoomed in as if I had chosen it as a scrolling wallpaper. I don't really care about it, since I like scrolling wallpaper, but just saying I have the same problem. I'm on CheckROM v5 with Abyss v3.6
I use QuickPic to see my wallpapers without any loss in resolution. One thing I noticed about ADW is that if you're using Multipicture Live Wallpaper with it, the 800x1200 wallpapers are not cropped accurately, even when using QuickPic. Strangely, the cropping is fine once I change the launcher to TouchWiz or LauncherPro.
try to set wallpaper with twlauncher and then change to adw or other launcher.....

wallpaper size (single screen)

i'm trying to set a single screen wallpaper on my XE, the size of the pic at the moment is 540x960. but when i try to set the wallpaper it only allows me to get half of the pic, what size should the wallpaper be so when i select it i can choose the whole pic and not half. any good wallpaper apps would also be appreciated. thanks...........................sudeki300
It should be about 1080x960 to get the full wallpaper in there.
You can use the GIMP and it's Resize Canvas tool to make white space on the sides of the image to convert the image to 1080x960. If you post the wallpaper or link it, I can do it for you.
Image 2 Wallpaper is on the market and can do it for you, as well.
here is the pic i'm trying to use, is that the correct size for setting the wallpaper using the screen size thingy that is used before setting a wallpaper in sense, sorry i don't know the correct name for the app. thanks buddy...................sudeki300
Try this one.
that was super fast give me a sec and i'll try it.................sudeki300
works ok in sense launcher (little blurred on the text) but when i try to set the pic in nova or apex launcher i get half the screen with the image and the other half in black. how can i fix this?..............sudeki300
edit: it's ok i sorted it, forgot to turn off wallpaper scrolling (duh). thanks so much for your quick help, that's why i love XDA forum........................sudeki300
Set Nova and Apex Launcher to not scroll the wallpaper and make sure its cropped right down the center (that resizable rectangle screen) and it should work fine. This wallpaper will not work in landscape mode (apex or nova's auto-rotate feature) cause it'll leave black bars along the side.
Text shouldn't look blurry because I shrunk it from its original size, if anything, it should look crisper. I'm away from my PC right now but I can assist you further later.
