hello,
I tried flashing an ICS ROM onto my Samsung Galaxy S2 Skyrocket (i727 AT&T) using Odin.
It was stuck at recovery.img. I unplugged my phone after a while, and then it wouldn't turn on. I would hold the power button, and then the Samsung logo would appear for a second, screen would go black for a second or two, and then the Samsung logo would come on again for about a second. Then the screen goes black.
I got into recovery mode, and wiped my data 3 times. I also wiped the cache. Then I tried rebooting the system, but the phone wouldn't turn on.
I took out the battery several times, and even tried turning the phone on with a different battery, once again to no avail.
Now I'm trying to flash the ROM on again, but it's stuck at recovery.img again.
PLEASE HELP. How do I get my phone back to normal/successfully get the ICS ROM on it?
I'm a noob at this.

Install this rom and you should be able to boot
Breaking News: ICS for Skyrocket Leaks, We've Got The Link (AT&T)
XblackdemonX,
That's the exact ROM I tried to flash. It's stuck at recovery.img. I unplugged and my phone wont boot.
However, that link mentions Heimdall files, what are those?

I plugged in my device and Kies said there was a firmware update. I let it go through it's paces and upon reboot, it just sits at a pulsating samsung logo.
I've tried reflashing a stock GB image using Odin. Even tried an ICS one. All of them result in the same pulsating samsung logo going nowhere.
What steps can I take from here?
Power + Vol Up
Select Wipe/Factory Reset
Cross your fingers...
Good Luck
I couldn't get recovery to come up before. But it did this time . Anyway, we're back in business. ICS is fantastic on this!
Hi people, I update my tab7+ 6210 to ICS everything was fine, but sometimes I got random reboots and today it suddenly turn off, I tried to turn on but nothing happens, so I plugged into charge but show no signs of life, I tried to enter stock recovery but accidentally enter download mode, Im screwed?, please I need some guidance. Thanks.

IT boot again, Im going to try enter recovery and do the wipes.
I have a rooted and bootloader-unlocked Inspire 4G. A few months ago, I had been using the MoKee 4.2.2 ROM for some time, and one day, my phone's screen simply froze. I thought I shouldn't be worried about it, so I pulled the battery off, slapped it back in and tried turning on the phone again. It never got past the MoKee loading screen. I tried charging it, leaving it to boot for hours but nothing.
Next, I tried rebooting into CWMrecovery to try different stable backups I had from some time before that happened. The backups restored successfully, but again, the phone stayed stuck in the loading screen. I tried the same with 4EXT Touch Recovery and wiping all the data before the backup, but still nothing worked.
Since I was too busy at the time to install a new ROM and flash a new boot image, I decided to put the phone away and use my backup Galaxy Ace. Today, a few months after that happened, I tried to boot the phone into bootloader and I can't even achieve that. Holding the volume down rocket and power buttons, the phone still boots normally and stays stuck on the loading screen.
What weirds me out the most is that this was all random--I did not drop the phone or did things to it that could break it.
I feel if I could get into recovery I'd be able to do something else about it.
Any ideas?
Me too
Weird, mine just did the same thing today. Crashed, had to pull battery, now stuck at Mokee. Tried clearing DC, cache, factory reset. No luck.
I had my phone just sitting on a wireless charger this morning and had been there for about 15-30 minutes. I noticed it was rebooting, odd I thought? I took it off and then realized it was going into a boot loop. I gave it a soft reset and then it would turn on and stay on for about 10 seconds before boot looping again. I again gave it a soft reset after a couple loops and now it seems to totally dead, as the title implies.
No button combination has worked and I've held them all down for well over 30 seconds each. I've tried plugging it into my PC and haven't gotten any response that way. The blue LED is on so I know it's not dead...I think? To make matters worse, I bought this phone off Craigslist about 5 months ago and it's the Exynos version so I definitely can't get any kind of warranty on it. I'm hoping someone has had this problem and can help or just has some advice. Thanks everyone.
EDIT: To keep this updated, I have been able to get into Odin Mode and have tried to flash stock firmware. Odin says everything went fine but the phone hangs up at the Samsung Galaxy S7 logo. I'm unable to boot into recovery mode and I've even tried to reinstall TWRP with Odin and that has not worked.
Seen the LED only problem before, waiting for the battery to drain and the phone to turn off seems to be the only known cure atm
Once it does, connect the charger for 15 mins, then boot directly into recovery and clear caches to try fix the bootloop, possible it may need factory resetting / clean flash of stock ROM
Using the MicroUSB > USB white adapter, you may be able to connect a power hungry USB peripheral to the phone to drain the battery faster, I use a USB desktop fan, but some people report it not working when it is stuck in this LED loop and have just had to wait it out
Thanks for that advice, I'll let it drain over night. However, I have been able to get it to boot into Odin Mode and Odin v.3 recognized it. I flashed the stock firmware but upon rebooting nothing happened and now it gets stuck at the Samsung logo screen. I can still get it back into Odin mode, which I believe will be the fastest way to kill the battery, but I find it odd that I can get into that but not recovery? I am rooted and have TWRP installed, if that matters at all.
If you can get into Download (ODIN) mode, then letting the battery drain probably won't help, that only seems to help when the phone is completely stuck with nothing but the LED working
Make sure you flash CSC (Not HOME_CSC) along with the other 3 sections of the ROM, using ODIN 3.12.3, that should factory reset the phone after the flash
If you successfully flashed stock with ODIN already, you are no longer rooted and do not have TWRP installed, flashing stock with ODIN replaces all that with stock
I updated Odin and once again tried to flash the 4 parts, making sure I used the right CSC file, but I'm still getting hung up at the Samsung Galaxy S7 logo. Do you have a suggestion as to which region's firmware I should use? I have been trying the Australia one from SamMobile's site.
EDIT: And to clarify, I have the G930FD(the duos one).

Any region would work, and the F firmware works for the FD too
Hi everyone
I have GT-N8000 2012 version. A week ago it suddenly went off and I am no longer able to turn it on, i.e. after showing the Samsung white logo, it is restarted. I have tried flashing different firmware versions but it doesn't help. Also the Power+VolumUp combination does not show any menu (I think it usually boots a menu for factory reset). What can I do? (I prefer being able to recover my data).
Thanks in advance
Same problem here, on same device type (N8000 2012, standard stock samsung firmware).
Mine doens't even reach the Samsung logo. It just gets to the 1st screen (Galaxy Note 10.1 white message) and reboots after a couple of seconds.
Also can get to any menu using Power & VolumeUp (doesn't seen to have any effect). Only Power &VolumDown gets to the Download menu.
Unless this is a Hardware problem I wanted to factory reset the device, hopping this would clean "everything" but put it running again.
Thanks
Suggest flash stock rom via Odin ,and download mode.
try this one

no worries. it happens. soft brick situation
you need a stock rom for your device or back up rom.
go back to PC and start ODIN, cable in, then boot your device under download mode not recovery.
once it is in download mode, flash your device using ODIN.
allow to reboot.
un-bricked device.:good:
stock ROMs are here in case you are looking

let me know how it goes.
Hey all....I'm calling on the experts! I have a friend of mine's s8+ Sm-955U from Verizon. She woke up one morning and it was boot looping. I've tried using ODIN, reflashing the original rom, wiped cache, did a factory reset, and even used the pit file and repartition in ODIN to try to restore it. All it does is get stuck at the s8+ logo screen, goes black and you can feel a tiny vibration when it goes to black. It usually just sits there, sometimes it will just reboot over and over. I've done everything I know. Is it possible that the NAND would be bad? Or what wears out if it's hardware related? It boots just fine in recovery mode or download mode and ODIN always shows success when flashing. Anyone know of anything else to do?
the phone is overheating!!!! get an icepack and hold it to the back of the phone while loading or put it directly in front of the air conditioner!!!! my phone does the all the time
