I am using ICS for 3 days.the reception is weeker than GB.my rom revolution 6.
who else have this problem ?
specially official ICS .do you have reception problem with offisial rom ?
it look likes its only my problem.so whay should I do for this problem ? any solution ?
Oftentimes the radio has a big factor on reception. If you flashed a new firmware package (which you undoubtedly did if you're running ICS now...) then chances are your radio file was overwritten. I would suggest digging through Google to find a radio file optimized for your carrier FOR ICS. You also want to make sure it only has a replacement radio and nothing else tagging along with it, otherwise you may have to reflash your ROM afterwards. Good luck to you!
thanks for reply.
what If I install ICS OTA ROM ? Do I need to reinstall radio ?
next question theres is a ICS untoucked rom in revolution hd forum. Is this rom exactly htcs rom ?
or could you please send me a link of official htc ics rom ?
and could you please tell me cid of one of countries that they got ics already.
thanks

The Radio comes with a firmware package as opposed to a ROM, so just flashing a ROM won't fix that.
Android Revolution HD is a very nice ROM, if you like the Sense UI and don't want to go for AOSP like OpenSensation/CyanogenMod 9 then ARHD is your best choice. The main difference is it gives you the latest version of everything as well as many tweaks and enhancements for it to run smoother. I don't have any links for plain unmodified HTC update packages.
As for the CID, you want to flash a Radio/Firmware based on the CID you have. The only exception is if you are SuperCID, but you still want to flash the one that matches YOUR carrier. Radios are all different. If you used Orange UK for example and I gave you a Radio for T-Mobile US it wouldn't help at all.

Hi everyone!! Have a question to ask and was wondering if anyone could help.
Right so this my situation:
I own a HTC Sensation XE, I have S-OFF, Rooted and SuperCID.
So basically i'm all set for custom roms (gingerbread ones anyway).
I have also installed a custom rom (Pyramid3D v8.3.0 - gingerbread based).
Now I am considering upgrading and installing a ICS based custom rom, however it appears that in order to use the ICS based roms, I have to flash new firmware.
Now I have no problem with doing that, I understand how to do that.
My question is:
If I upgrade the firmware and install an ICS based custom rom, but for whatever reason I do not like it, can I then simple downgrade back to a gingerbread rom?
Will a gingerbread rom work fine with the newer firmware?
Do I have to downgrade the firmware back?
Is there any disadvantage to using the newer firmware on gingerbread if possible?
Is the downgrade as simple as installing any other rom? - if that possible
Thanks in advance for help you guys can give!! Appreciate it!!

Depends, 1.23 (from 3.12) should work fine. 1.27 (from 3.24) won't.

You'll need HBOOT 1.23 or 1.17 to boot GB ROMs. I used 1.23 for a while with ICS and CM7. I've only recently gone to the unlocked 1.27 F/W, seems more stable on ICS. I think I noticed a battery life benefit with CM7 & 1.23, so an advantage.

You need to do it via the PG58IMG.zip method rather than recovery.

Short answers to your questions:
Yes - but you need to downgrade the firmware
No
Yes
You can't use new firmware with Gingerbread
Yes
Detailed stuff can be found in this most helpful post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1480061
I think you'll find it worthwhile to move to ICS. Good luck.

+1 on the move to ICS.
My question is:
If I upgrade the firmware and install an ICS based custom rom, but for whatever reason I do not like it, can I then simple downgrade back to a gingerbread rom?
Only if you have a GB compatible firmware installed.
So if I was to install 3.24 then GB roms most likely wouldn't work?
Do I have to downgrade the firmware back?
Is there any disadvantage to using the newer firmware on gingerbread if possible?
You'll need HBOOT 1.23 or 1.17 to boot GB ROMs. I used 1.23 for a while with ICS and CM7. I've only recently gone to the unlocked 1.27 F/W, seems more stable on ICS.
So 1.23 is the best bet if I want to "try" ICS and then can go back if I choose
Another question which I also have then is:
Some ICS roms say that they require firmware 3.24. To clarify, If I install this firmware and an ICS rom, there will be no way for me then install most GB roms (broadly speaking).

You can reflash an earlier F/W so go back to 1.17, as always if it screws up it screws up. It's the sort of thing I tried to avoid where possible, but sometimes is necessary.
One point though, when you flash 1.23 or 1.27 you'll get a new Radio. If you regress the F/W to 1.17 you'll need to flash a compatible Radio as well.
You "should" be able to try before you buy ICS on 1.23 and also go back to GB. That said, I've found my current combo (VI 3.0.5b7 and 1.27.1100) more stable than an earlier version of the ROM was on 1.23.

What firmware is in your bootloader? When you are flashing a rom and it requires a specific Firmware you will need to update that firmware to that roms requirements. First time Flashing also requires a full wipe. . There is a firmware thread in sensation development and how to's. Example.. If i want sense 3.6 rom or new 4.0 rom I would flash firmware 3.32. If your not sure how firmware flashes read up on it. It can cause bootloops if your not flashing the proper zips. Welcome to the world of SENSATION..

Hey pop did ya delete the firmware file you flashed right after you updated it into bootloader? Usually that PG58IMG which would be your firmware file zip should be deleted off your SDcard right after you bootloaded it. And also let me remind ya that even its a lower firmware like 3.24 or less it will have that same PG58IMG file name saved on your wherever downloaded too. So make sure your installing that correct PG58IMG firmware. Other than that ..try a step down from 3.32 and see if that works with the ARHD Rom.

Try the 3.30 firmware. If not just double check to see if you downloaded the right firmware 3.32. Like for me I'm a T-Mobile user so I had to download the T-Mobile version firmware.. hope that helps..

Hello! I have HTC One XL Asian version (with LTE 2600Mhz). Asian version still do not have 1.8x firmwares - so I still at 1.77. As we know, this firmware has some problems with multitasking. So i'd like to root and flash custom firmware to solve this problem. There is a question - wich firmware fit for my device? As far as I know, there is a huge difference between AT&T and Asian LTE modems. And because of this fact I can't flash firmware from At&T custom roms.
P.S. My English is really bad, so it's realy hard for me to search this information in English. Sorry.
I also have the Asia version originally with 1.77, i've flashed it with the Asia WWE 1.88 ROM, Telstra, CM9 and Modaco. All seem to work ok with it.
Thank you! Where you got 1.88 Asian ROM? What can you say about CleanROM? As far as I know if I flash this ROM I'll get some problems with modem firmware.
This was linked by someone else in another thread - cant remember where.
http://www.filefactory.com/f/4e1ce47f16313c0d/
These are stock ROMs so you may still get the multitasking issue. Also you will need to superCID your phone to be able to run these RUU.
I cant comment on CleanROM as i've not installed it.
hi every one
i have htc sensation roted & s-off with android 2.3.5 & kernal 2.6.35.10_cyanogen
My prblem is that i canot flash any MIUI rom even if i restore my original rom (nandroid) so what can i do to
install MUIU rom like (([ROM] [29-03] TripNMiUI V4 - MIUI ICS | B008 | Everything fixed))????
You should install 3.32/3.33 firmware.. To hold ics roms.. It's roms won't work on gingerbread firmware

so is that true that: if i changed my CID number from HTC___44 to super CID HTC___111111.THEN install your kernel ...????
but then if i have any problem can i solve this by/or can i re-install my original kernel and be on my old sittings without any problems i may have....??? because i heard the super CID allow us to re-change the kernels easily between new&old ???

wait wait wait .its not kernel im talking about im talking about firmware
let me clarify you couple of things
sensation can be divided this way ..
hardware + recovery (stock/cwm/4EXT etc etc) + firmware (radio + bootloader + others) + ROM (boot (aka kernel) + system + data)
now im talking about firmware part
if you want ICS ROM ..you need ICS compatible firmwares 3.32/3.33
and for gingerbread ROM (which you are currently having ) requires GB compatible firmware 1.17
and kernel is part of ROM ..it comes with ROM
now you were unable to boot MIUI ICS version ..you have GB firmware thats why you were unable to boot
just flash 3.32 or 3.33 firmware and then MIUI ICS you will come out fine (btw after flashing 3.32 or 3.33 firmware you cant boot to your 2.3.5 ROM as its not compatible but you can backup it from recovery)
now with regards to CID ..you need not change it anymore ..as it became obsolete
all the firmwares comes universal ..means works with any cid's
here is the firmware thread
hello, i have a question about this phone, can i install a one xl firmware to my phone? because i want jelly bean but im a noob in htc phones, someone can help me? sorry for my bad english

Best bet for "stock" JB and keeping the rest?
Hi I'm new with android and this is my first post here, I would like to thank you for your support and if any of you more enlightened guys could help me, this is what I have:
Android version 4.0.3
HTC sense version 4.0
Software number 1.85.502.3 71 ORD
Kernel 3.0.8-01155-gca24d1e [email protected] #1 SMP PREEMPT
Baseband ver. 0.17.32.09.12_10.86.32.08L
Build number 1.85.502.3_R2 CL63811 release-keys
Unlocked Bootloader
SuperCID
S-Off
Hboot-1.09.0000
Radio 0.17.32.09.12
The thing is I'm looking for a stock JB which I understand there are only two compatible releases, that being Asian one and Telstra.
That being said, is it possible for me to keep AT&T ICS included keyboards and languages and not to mess with my radio and kernel, just change the OS and remove the remaining carrier crappy software?
I understand I have to make a recovery with TWRP, but then being S-off what would be the best bet to flash the ROM?
Many thanks in advance!

Your radio will stay the same, but the OS will be replaced. You can't keep the old kernel either, as it will be incompatible with JB. I think you are confused about what the OS is. If you upgrade to JB, you can't keep ICS.
Just pick a stock rooted or custom JB ROM from development. Put it on your SD card, and flash it. I don't know what your keyboard and language requirements are, and that may be better asked on the ROM thread (if the ROM has the language & keyboard you need), when you choose one you like.
If you want stock rooted, but minus the bloatware, you might look at CleanROM (or similar custom ROMs that are close to stock) as its very close to stock, just minus the bloat and with some performance optimizations. The Asian and Telstra stock ROMs don't have as much bloat as AT&T, but still have their share of it.
