Issues with xda app - General Topics

Seem to have constant issues with xda premium app. Paid as support for this awesome site but this app is seriously frustrating. Probably 80% of the time when trying respond to a post it tells me i don't have permission to make the post. Makes the app almost unusable. Been having this issue on my tablet and galaxy s.
Tried uninstalling and installing again. Also tried logging out and then back in. Is this a known issue and is there a fix?

Is the tapatalk forum app any good? It sounds like a cool idea but hasn't gotten many good reviews lately.

Xda app is based off tapatalk and I think its pretty good software. If my reg. forums supported tapatalk id prob buy the app

I use it for a few forums (Cyanogen, XDA, RiderForums) and it makes viewing them all easier since they're in one place.
Every once and a while it does hiccup though, it'll just hang on a screen for 5-10 seconds - for example when loading favorites - sometimes with a Force Close popup dialog box, but if you click 'Wait' instead of 'Close' I'd say 9/10 times it loads the page you want without restarting the app.
It's a lot like the XDA App: not perfect but convenient to have.

Mine has never force closed or freezed, has worked like a champ. Use it to visit Overclock.net, and it works very well. Definetly a winner if you visit a lot of forums on your phone.

XDA also supports Forum Runner, a similar app...you may like to try that as an alternative.
i was thinking about getting it but from the latest reviews i seen theres a new one that you will have to pay for also and other people said the update brought new problems
^ I downloaded version 1.4.2 yesterday on my motorola defy and it's working great. No issues whatsoever.

Search using xda app seems very limited

Does anyone else have this problem? I'm hardly getting any useful results from searches on xda using the app. Is this limited to the app or to phone itself... Search without tapatalk?... I cant go back to all that mess... Continuously realigning pages,etc...
I certainly don't have problems on my PC, so its not xda... Any insight?
I'm really SICK of looking like an ass, asking questions I should be able to find answers to.

[Q] Is your XDA app glitchy on your xoom? (Mine is wifi version)...

Hi all,
I am wondering if anyone else is having the same problem with the XDA app as I am on my Xoom WiFi?
I have seen some people post about FC's, etc and I too have experienced the random FC here and there in this and other apps but my issue is different.
When I am in the app and say in a post where there is lots of pictures (post your home screen for example) or if there are a lot of "hot links" embedded in the page, when I scroll, the page does not scroll properly, becomes glitchy and I get "tracers" of everything posted on the page until I stop moving the page and then it goes back to normal. (I hope I explained this fairly well).
Anyone else seeing this? Is this a bug in the app on the Xoom? I do not see these same problems in any other app or in the Browser... Just in XDA and I have the XDA Premium app.
Please advise,
Thanks...
XDA barely works on my wifi xoom. I tried to buy the premium one but it would force close market everytime I tried. The free version does not work very well.

Hmmm... Well in that case, I hope XDA is going to put out a new version of the app that is "optimized" for Tablets very shortly then.
Any Dev's or Mod's listening? LOL!!!
Seriously though... I hope that something comes out soon and since I already have the Premium app, I hope that I will not be charged again for a Tablet optimized version.

Forcecloses on everything???

Has anyone had any issues with their XOOM force closing on everything?? Just got a new one and there were 3 updates. Did those and now even if I try to reply to a pm or open a thread on this app I get a force close. I am never rooted and like I said brand new. Is it software or just the XOOM?? I am on software 3.2.1 also.
EDIT: So I have done 2 hard resets, tried with me not logged in on any other computer/phone app and still doing it. But when I am not logged in it lets me view threads. I am also getting an FC when trying the game IceBreaker hockey as soon as I click on it.

Bump up. I just exchanged it for another. It had 4 updates. I tried logging in and viewing a thread before each update it they all forceclose. The last update let ne view one pm before it Forcecloses.

OK, so I got the xda premium app on my phone. I thought maybe if I put the paid version on here it would work and what do you know. NO FORCECLOSES lol. Simple fix

Xda app keeps closing whenever you hit back while trying to navigate within forum or threads.
Anyone experience this on new Gal tab2 10.1?

still no resolution for app force closing. averaging 8 reports per day after force closures. apparently stumping the world with this issue.

No problems with Tapatalk...
For me... the xda app chews around 40-60% of processor capacity before it freezes out. Tried reinstalling but the problem persists.
Tapatalk seems to be working okay.

Could it be root? My 10.1 is rooted stock rom.

I think we are dealing with an ics issue here, I think the xda app devs fell asleep at the wheel and didn't do there ics homework! Maybe they don't know what ics stands for, it ain't "I crave salami".

I believe that the XDA App is just a custom Tapatalk App. However, it would receive updates outside of the main Tapatalk App, so it's possible that it hasn't received the updates and bug fixes that the main app has yet. Maybe one of the Mods/Admins can try and get the issue resolved.
Thanks for your input, imnuts . Hope I find a solution soon, running one free app, and two paid apps and still can't use any of them without it becoming a pain in the ass, and draining the juice out of the battery.

As someone else has mentioned, Tapatalk works perfectly -- which it does.
Try emailing them about the issue(s) you're having. The contact email from the Play Store is [email protected] I also saw that there was an XDA Premium HD app that is supposedly meant for tablets. Hopefully that isn't what is required as it doesn't look like there is a free version of the tablet app.
Tried running free xda app, also xda HD, still no good. I guess I can spend another 3.00 bucks and experiment for the dev dept. With tapatalk. And that's no guaranty that its going to work.

Paid xda app has never fc'd on this tab in the last 3 weeks for me. Running stock deodexed Rom.
good day.
Chopper the Dog, Does that mean you are rooted at present ? Not sure if you can deodex without rooting.
(I don't think so)
Thanks for your input.

### issue resolved ###
Issue was caused by setting in "developer option" - "do not keep activities" this needs to be un checked , not sure what this setting is for, but it can be a pain if checked.
