I just flashed CWM using NVflash, which i've done before, but not on this particular device. This is the screen I get once I hit the button:

Redo it if it isn't booting to recovery... search the nvflash thread also.

Got it all sorted out, had to basically revert to stock G2X using that flash.bat method that is floating around. Worked like a charm! running Nullifier Single right now, already have CM7 RC1 on deck followed by a legit open source Kernel Faux was messing around with.
I'll use my banned IMEI G2X for ICS builds.

All of my study is in the city so my tab could get stolen one day and at home i have a younger brother who loves to play with settings etc
Is the encyption worth the hassle?
Does it break anything?
Do i have to decrypt re-encrypt every boot is it slow?
I have never had this option before but it seems like a good idea i just want to know how it plays in real world use before i do it.

The problem with having an encrypted partition is that CWM at moment can't really do anything useful to those partitions. You cannot flash, backup, or restore via CWM. This means your ability to work with custom ROMs is effectively crippled. In fact, to undo the encryption (or if you forget your password), I had to nvflash back to stock. Factory reset via CWM cannot be done since, again, the partitions are still encrypted.
If in the future, CWM is able to access the partitions like the stock recovery can, then you'd be fine.

I wouldn't touch it for now. If/When CWM allows for it (possibly ICS, as I might guess that the closed nature of HC is limiting development around encryption support?) then maybe..
Thats a good point ae hopefully with icys than can also make abit more headway with the more advanced recoverys to
Never thought about that before thanks

Like many times before i used the one click odin root to root my phone. This time as soon as it started, it failed. Now my phone boots straight to this screen:
Odin Mode
Product name: SGHI727
Custom Binary Download : No
Current Binary: Samsung official
cell phone pic----------------------exclamtion triangle pic---------------------computer pic
Firmware upgrade encountered
as issue. Please select
recovery mode in kies and try again.
I used odin to try and flash again, i used one click flash, and I reinstalled all my drivers, checked my usb connection and even tried a different computer. I cannot restore my phone. I was on stock ginger bread but not sure which one.
I go into download mode manually, i slect up, and i get back to the same screen as on top w no result.
Help plz. $20.00 donation to who can help me crack this...i really need it fixed, thx.
I also tried to use klies. it didnt work. computer does read the phone as the yellow shows on odin. But everytime i try to flash something it starts, then fails.

Can you still transfer stuff over Odin, or is your computer not picking it up at all?
Also, are you using Desktops or Laptops to Odin?
This thread is epic. I would've reported it if there was a report button :-(

You are in download mode. Not recovery. Can not flash from there. Pull battery then power+home+volume up to get to recovery. Before flashing rom did you flash CWM. Did you unlock boot loader. Need to read Droidstyles guide before going any further. It has everything you need to know.

Please learn what you're doing before flashing and breaking your phone.
You're in download mode. Just pull your battery and put it back in.
This is what I get when I hold vol up, home an power.

You did not unlock your bootloader properly. Seriously. Please read up before you do more stuff to your phone and break it.
This is easy to recover from, just go back into downloading mode and flash the stock rom in ODIN.
You can find information on this here:

if using the ez unlocker tool from the market, read the description, 1.4 was buggy and wasn't actually unlocking bootloaders correctly, so you had to download 1.2 from the link provided and use that to unlock your bootloader properly
Thanks, I will read up some more an terry.

I had just soft-bricked my phone and after a while got it to be detected by a stock infuse program and I just remembered ( in the beginning of the download > during Factoryfs < I had to run it off because the program never finished and left me with a samsung boot screen forever.. So I took out the batter put it back in and tried to go into recovery.. I get this picture >>

Any help WITHOUT using Linux? I can't even get into recovery anymore because I tried to install another recovery zip to fix it and now there is no recovery

I'm making an appointment with geeksquad (phone came from best buy) and the service rep I talked to said they'd most likely replace it for me. If not, my computer asks me if I want to format the drive (repeatedly when I plug it in with every drive letter of the alphabet) what would happen if I did?
Sent from my P9070 using Tapatalk
Just restore back to stock. There is a lot of info on how to do this on this forum. You don't need the geek squad.
