how can i backup internal mem? - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket SGH-I727

Hey all i was just wondering how one can backup all internal memory before i try to flash my SR? I've got the paid version of titanium backup but don't know if i can use that or if i should just target a certain directory when its plugged into my PC? I tried a search before posting but didn't see anything initially.
nvm, going to start and i don't care about backing up internal.

Just connect to computer and when internal folder pops up copy and paste to a backup folder.

Can't back up rom

I'm wanting to test out another rom, but for some reason I cannot back up my existing rom in cwm. I'm currently on CM7.
Any help is greatly appreciated!

I choose backup existing rom, then shows the little android guy but there's the huge exclamation mark next to it. No clue what's going on. Never had this problem before.

Hold power and both buttons on the volume rocker until the phone reboots. When you see the Samsung logo, let go of power, but keep holding the rocker down. This boots you into recovery.

Just wanted to make sure I was doing it right. Well still no luck. After the back up says complete, this is the log info.
No/sdcard/.android_secure found.
Skipping backup of applications on external storage.
Backing up cache...
No sd - ext found. Skipping backup of sd-ext
Generating md5 sum...
Backup complete.
so I reboot the phone after that, went into cwm and there's no backup from the back up list. :/

Even the internal storage is pretty much open. I have no music/videos/anything. Maybe a couple apps and that's about it.

Have you recently tried to move any files between your SD card and PC? Sometimes cards can become corrupted, or certain files at least can also become bad and not read. The more you mount and unmount the more degraded it gets. If you tried to delete any files, did you accidentally delete something from your internal SD?
Not that I'm aware of. When I get home ill try transferring a small file over. As far as the internal SD card its fine.

Nothing at all? Sigh. I really wish I could find a solution to this.
I guess ill try out Odin to put it back to stock and then root and unlock it. I just hate the fact I can't back up anything.

SD card says 100% full... but its not!

Just like the title says. I am trying to do a backup and it tells me that the SD card is full, but I went through and deleted a bunch of stuff off of it... This is quite frustrating and I don't really want to format the card as I have stuff on there I don't want to lose. Any ideas?
copy SD to computer then format? then move what you want back to SD when your done?

I figured out what it actually was... I saw a hidden folder called .trashes and it contained EVERYTHING I deleted. So I deleted it out of there and BAM, tons of room!
Ah, gotta love Mac. Delete everything only to have it moved to a hidden folder.

here's another thing (if youre sing a mac) when you delete something off your phone's sdcard using your mac, when youre done deleting everything empty your trash as long as its in your trash the phone still counts it as taking up space, idk why
Well on windows, with a portable device it just straight up deletes the files, or rather marks the space as empty, on the hard drive the space gets marked and the file goes to a 'secret' folder in the root of the drive until you empty the bin. Mac is similar but keeps the files on the drive. It also creates some sort cache for each file on the drive. A thumbnail cache maybe.

Using root explorer on the phone, you can just select to view hidden folders in the settings and it should show up on the root of the card. I can't help you with windows or Mac cause i haven't used either...

If you have access to a Mac, just plug it in and empty the trash. If you're on a pc you ahve to go to control panel>folder options> and check show hidden files and folders. You *may* have to tell it to show protected system files as well, I don't recall of the top of my head if you do or not.

When I figured out what was going on, I was using a windows pc and not my macbook. You basically need to be able to see hidden files/folders and find the .trashes folder and delete everything in it. I have not tried it through the phone so I would try what was said above if you want to use the phone.
Thank you my g2x people

Bricked phone, can't Odin or flash with CWM

My phone won't boot. I tried putting my Nandroid backup on the external SD card to restore, but I can't restore it with CWM. Whenever I hit restore, it says no files found. I've tried mounting/remounting the external SD option in Mounts and Storage. Whenever I mount them through this option,, they don't show up on my PC, so I can put the files on the internal SD. It does, however, show up in Device Manager with a yellow exclamation point. Odin does not recognize the phone.
Can you get adb to recognize it? If you can then you should be able to "reboot download". Hopefully that will "soft"get you into Odin/download mode. If that doesn't work you can make or buy a USB jig that will boot you into download.

I get a device not found error. Why am I unable to flash anything from an external SD card through CWM? Shouldn't this be a standard option?
Ouch. That sucks. Did you try mounting it in advanced menu? You might want to head over to the irc channel. There are a few of us in there. We may be able to help you out.

Accidentally Reformatted SD

So I use use this phone as a play phone since I have a Skyrocket. That being said i really dont want to get negitive comments.
So I accidentally reformmatted the SD card when i was going to update the rom from a 4.1 to a 4.2
The issue that I'm having now is that the phone won't be read by the computer. I've tried 2 different things.
Mounting the usb so I can move over the ROM files and re flash. Didn't work since the computer won't read the phone
Tried using ADB to push the files but same issue. ADB doesn't recognize the phone when plugged in. I plugged in my Skyrocket and ADB recognized it.
Yes I have the drivers installed and to be safe reinstalled them. I'm running everything up to date and can't seem to find a solution for my problem.
If anyone has a solution or give me any other idea I would appreciate it.

I've never done that before. How exactly do you go about doing that?
Thanks. I figured it out. Put zip on phone, wiped, flash boot, flash rom. Thanks again.
Just boot into recovery (TWRP), go to mount (which may be under the advanced tab) and mount external storage. Now connect your phone to your PC via usb cable and it should pop up as a removable drive. Copy the ROM from your PC and paste to your phone. Un-mount your storage, disconnect from PC, and you should be good to go.
