I believe it is better to verify your information before posting, as it only causes further mis-information in the future. This is especially true if you're going to go back and edit your post. There is no kernel provided with InfinityROM, and if there was, it wouldn't be from the leaked build.
This is my setup... I should have verified that I am indeed already running pb&j kernel... lol.. immutable ur awesome bro... plz look at my setup and give suggestions if possible...

Your new to the forum and I am in no way an elite, but.... Please don't post just to post. Make sure you know what your saying first.
JT's ROM is in beta. And from what I've read it runs pretty damn good. Few things don't work and ril isn't full (data) .But the work he's done to the ril it's substantial as is his rom.
But don't say "damn dude" like JT's ROM is a cure all. By doing this you discount the enormous contributions and roms built by the likes of imnuts, dwither and others.
Do you research and you can get any of these roms working great.

I believe that the kernel came in the infinity rom package is a repack Ep4P kernel with mod and tweaks. However, the rom itself is EP4D base.

There is no kernel included with InfinityROM, as I just stated. Can you please not post something without verifying it? People did that before and the issue spreads constantly. I'll repeat that one more time, there is no kernel included.

OK, I will change my post. But maybe they way you wrote on your Infinity OP is not clear to me:
'To go with the great ROM, is a great repacked kernel. Since you can only do so much to a stock kernel when repacking it, I kept the EP4P kernel from the last test version of the ROM with the current update. This will be replaced in the coming weeks once I can get a source built kernel going. There are only minor changes to the kernel that is included, so it's nothing really special, but it gets the job done.'

ooh OOh! I want to get in on the mocking!
"I'm going to make fun of you because I spend obscene amounts of time in an android forum and nobody appreciates my 20 million posts! Time to belittle a n00b because it makes my post count go up. And when people see a higher post count, they think I'm actually helpful"
*edit* That sounded more condescending than I meant and was supposed to be funny. I did find this thread humorous, fwiw
I feel like this is appropriate for this thread at this point:
http://xkcd.com/194/
Anyways. I'm not really feeling superior to anybody on here or trying to prove anything, just remember that we were all new to a forum at one point in time. At least he didn't post in the Developer section.
^^^Ill make my post count go up again with this post. He came in swinging right from the get go with demands, and my post count is mostly from helping others, marketplace threads, asking legitimate questions that I couldn't find answers to after searching back when I first started using android on a mytouch 3g, I don't spend countless hours on xda, at most an hour when Im not working or taking care of my four month old. Personally, Myself and other members are tired of people coming in with demands and then getting attitudes with members for not providing answers to their liking. I was once a noob, but in no way disrespected, complained, or had an attitude with any member. I read, read, and read some more and got where I am today just shy of developing myself and in no way asked for anyone to hold my hand. I have also lived up to what everyone wishes the marketplace would be by being honest with all ten of my transactions. I in no way belittled anyone.
Thread serves no purpose.

Heh if only we could get a kernel. Sadly there will not be one until sammy releases an offical GB which I hear could be happening beginning next year. When it comes to placing blame its not so much Samsung at fault here. I mean there seems to be a new leak at least once a week here so its not like they aren't working on it. If fault should be placed anywhere its with Tmobile who pretty much doesn't give a fck if you have GB on your phone. They've pretty much taken the, if its not broke don't update it approach.
Well at least he didn't swear at the devs this time.

Thats what I've been wondering actually.
I've only had an android since like march, rooted it within a couple months just so I could delete bloatware, but only really got into flashing and stuff about a month ago. So what's so great about miui that everyone keeps bringing it up? Surely it can't really be any better than whats already available to us.
@scoop_dtx, @95Z28
AFAIK its a ROM that gets official with the MIUI people and receives OTA updates each times a new version is available. Just like CM7. I think.

Yeah, supposedly, it's on par with CM7 now.
As someone who has been running MIUI since April, there are many advantages to using MIUI over other AOSP ROM's.
First, I love the fact that it gets updated weekly. Having to flash nightlies like with CM7 can be a hassle. Once a week works perfect for me and they are constantly making it better and the user interface just works.
Second, look @ this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=990233 There are a few thousand posts to look through to see how you can customize MIUI. You can literally customize every single aspect of the ROM to your liking and I wouldn't want to have my phone any other way.
MIUI has been my daily driver for the better part of the last year and I don't plan on looking back unless something else truly mindblowing comes along.

Ehh I wouldn't get my hopes up too much. Most of the people that run their social sites aren't to tied in with what's actually going on. You can look at their moderators posts on the lg forums and tell that.
But at least its a glimmer of hope. If they would just open source their development and drivers our devs could already have a fully working build.

I was thinking the same thing, lol. But i do believe the G2x will get official ICS. The device is more than capable, i just hope they hired some new devs that can teach LG how to code properly this time around.
I didn't intentionally "hi-jack" this thread, just didn't think that a guy posting about an image that we could have taken (if I'm not mistaken) with the test builds we had from azuske/daemon team. Before actual dev recruitment and working, I would ask myself what are we expecting this kernel to have, once we have our goals set we will be able to explore and gather some knowledge in the right direction.
Such goals should be :
1. Much stronger WiFi reception (I know it is possible).
2. Direct line call recording. (was available at Froyo, but blocked by Sami).
3. Kernel without the need of System mounting as RW (like SMS Kj6 Beta 3.1 is).
4. MIUI nightly builds compatible kernel (I have no idea how and what).
5. TV out support (MIUI ususally doesn't support this functionality).
etc.
So who wants to see CWM FB edition?

Ok, Guys, I have cleaned the thread.
Now we tend to be a bit lenient on sites like 4shared that now require registartion due to the whole filesharing hosts drama that recently went on.
But we will prefer it if our users use other filesharing sites that dont need registration.
If you need to take it down go ahead no loss here Ill just start pm people that need it ;-) with rom owners permission first of course.

Not on this pm system you won't. As stated by the forum mod. We are being easy going as people find other means to upload stuff but in the end using links that require registration is against the rules. Either by post or PM. And stating that you will use the PM system to get around the rules is not cool.

There is no "reboot" or "recovery" option in the ROM when holding down the power button.

Seems to be fast. Other than some lag when pressing some buttons. Gotta press buttons 2-3 times sometimes.
Have no other experience with it yet.
I like the simple "beep" sounds it makes.

Seems to be fast. Other than some lag when pressing some buttons. Gotta press buttons 2-3 times sometimes.
Have no other experience with it yet.
I like the simple "beep" sounds it makes.

strikes huh?
...well here's the solution... you make a much better rom, thats MUCH better than the TONS of hours DMan & The COllective have put together, and we will all praise you!
-or maybe we wont! ...maybe we'll be completely rude & add "strikes" to your rom as well, without having done work ourselves!

Is this really that necessary?
Not everybody has to like every single ROM. Personally, I don't enjoy Dman's ROMs because of the heavy themeing. Some people just don't enjoy that stuff.
It shouldn't be expected that only nice things will be said because someone spend "hours" working on a ROM
Can you guys act civil? Or do I need to ask zel to visit? If you don't like the rom, don't run it. Don't cry about it here, when you put a month of your life into something I'm sure you don't want here strikes. Positive feedback here. If you have something negative to say, don't, don't like it? Go elsewhere, this is not a flaming session

Guys remember these roms are not made for you. They are made for the developer and they decide to share. While you may not like somethings. That is on you, but dont start bad mouthing other roms. Remember this is a development forum not a rom forum, which alot of people seem to forget.
I'm not "bad mouthing" any ROM's.
I'm talking about reasons why I did or did not choose a particular ROM.

Ok well it is simple. In development forum. If there is something we dont like about a rom then we learn to change it. That is what XDA was made for and all about. Not for why you did or did not choice to use a rom. As i stated these roms are not made for anyone other then the developer and they decide to share it. If you dont like something about it then either change it or move to another rom.

Nope, read it, it's cool where he's coming from, but I couldn't care less. If superuser was such a security risk, I doubt cyanogen would still be using it, and about every single rom out there uses supersu (also get regular updates), so I'm sure if there was a security flaw, it'd be known by now, and he updates regularly enough I'm sure it'd get patched if it was, just like koush's.
I like Supersu, it gets regular updates, chainfire seems intelligent from reading some of his forum posts, and tons of roms are using it without security breaches due to it. Not everything closed source is bad, some people just put a lot of work into their app and don't want to just give it away (unless that was the intention, ex linux). Could it probably be made better with open source? Sure, but giving up your source also brings kangers (think anthrax kernel). I love open source, I love seeing others code to see how they went about something, it's an art and there will always be someone smarter than you to learn from, but I also can appreciate people's decision to keep their programs closed source after spending so many hours on computer science labs to make a simple command line shopping cart and it annoys me when people classify someones work insecure solely because they don't give the source code. Plus some people do this as their living and make money off it, how much money do you think someone will make if they give away their code? Sure there will be donators, but most likely someone will build the program and distribute it for free.
Everyone's opinion is different, I tried to state mine in a brief way that didn't attack anyone earlier but you decided to call me out and go all "bro" on me so now you know where I'm coming from.

I think he was just pointing out your mistake that way too many people make. "Couldn't" care less is what you should have said.

Ah didn't catch that, I corrected it, thanks.
having more options is great. although superSU is incorporated in more leak packages and roms already.
cwm should have made this along time ago.

My bad, I thought he was just pointing out where my error was, so when I saw you quote it, I thought you were doing the same except adding in the correction... didn't occur to me he was trying to correct it and failed, so I apologize.

I agree totally,
I use this app for two reasons. It's open source and is made by one of the best developers ever! He also developed thus other little thing called CWM!

I highly doubt that this is the place for immature ppl to be arguing with each other. This is a forum ppl get your head out of your asses and delete this nonsense its unnecessary. Xda created this to help ppl out and you guys are clearly disrespecting them. I read a post earlier in this thread about ppl posting the sane questions over and over again and disrespecting rom makers now I see what he's talking about. Everybody needs to grow up this isn't the place for this..write a private message
