help root infuse with 2.3.6 - Samsung Infuse 4G

guys, please help me root my infuse firmware 2.3.6.. i had 2.2.1 frayo and used odin3 to upgrade gingerbread 2.3.6. I was using root.bat file to root my older firmware, but seems like it is not working with now as it says error:device not found.
I know I have asked it but the answer must be there somewhere in 1000 threads. Please don't be angry and help me to root my device.. really appreciate your help..

try to use the search function. the answer is in the forums several times. if you cant find it look harder.

2.3.6
USB debugging isnt working with this new GB update, i had rolled back too 2.2.1 to do a test and it was working fine, so we cant root yet on 2.3.6 which sucks

Sorry, but neither of these statements are true. USB debugging works fine in the latest Gingerbread update, and it can be rooted. We've been able to root these 2.3.6 releases for awhile now.

I had no problems rooting my prior to updating to Froyo 2.2 that was finally released for the Vibrant. I would like to see if anyone can lend a helping hand I would really like to drop the BIONIX 1.3 v ROM I simply just frustrated at this point. Any Ideas anyone? I am attempting to use the Z4ROOT and have attempted to use the one-click root as as well. Thoughts?

Hi Folks,
I'm unable to root my Galaxy S. (tried different methods)
I had rooted my phone through Ryans Super One click Lag fix & unrooted my phone a month ago.
I tried to root the devise again but not been able to succed with the following methods.
1. Ryans Super One Click 1.91 : the Super One click says waiting for device and dies, no sucess even after trying for nth time.
2. Installed Z4root.apk directly on my phone internal SD card: It force closes after displaying acquiring root shells?
3.Downloaded update.zip folder into internal SD card and then press the 3 button combo and it says.
E: signature verification failed
Installation aborted.
4. Installed Universal abdroot which roots the 2.2.1 firware as well.
However even this failed.
Not sure why all the methods failed, Is it because I rooted and unrooted my phone earlier ???? Please help me...

[Q] So Confused please help a Noob root 2.3.4 on i9020A (currently at 2.3.3 rooted)

Ok, I have read some of the posts here but I find it extremely confusing and I don't want to update to 2.3.4 if I will lose my root and not be able to get it back. I have a i9020a on Rogers and I want to upgrade to 2.3.4 and then root it. I am currently at 2.3.3 and have it rooted and haven't upgraded because I can't tell if I should upgrade first or not. I rooted 2.3.3 with gingerbreak, it doesnt seem like anything so easy exists for 2.3.4? I know there is a very long post on how to do this via clockworkmod but I don't even know what that means. I have read a bunch of these posts but I don't find them clear at all and while I am downloading the android sdk I figured I would ask if there was an easier way
...
nevermind i just followed the mac instuctions post

Rooting

Hey alll,
I'm sort of a noob at this.. I've used iPhones for most of my smartphone life and I've learned how to jailbreak almost any version and do unthinkable things with those phones.
Now i've made the jump to android and wanted to "root" my Droid Charge and I'm not really sure where to start
I've seen a couple diff. threads about rooting but I'm not sure which one is the easiest one to use that actually works so figured id start a thread and maybe someone could give me a hand
I'm fully updated --
my baseband says ED1 but my build says ED2 -- which one are people referring to when they said they have either ED1 or ED2 and downgrading and what not?
and again, which, if even possible, is the easiest way to root my device?
Thanks in advance
If you are looking for basic Root:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1085190
Use above thread and then DO NOT update to ED2
If you want to have the update to ED2 and plan on doing other things with ROMs and stuff start here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1092114
Pretty much what ShotgunSam said.
Make sure you do not update to ED2. If you've already updated, then you will need to flash back to ED1 in order to root.
Once rooted in ED1, you can use jt's update for ED2, voodoo lagfix, and CMW.
My phone is firmware 2.2.1 baseband ver 1510.06.V.ED1 SCH-I510.ED1 Build Number SCH-I510.ED2 ..... is this the ed2 you're referring to? I purchased the phone the day it was released. I want to root to run wifi tethering and want to get it done before VZW turns off the free tethering. NEED it in my big truck !!! On android central rooting directions it says to enable both usb debugging and stay awake. My phone has no stay awake selection available like my original Moto Droid running 2.2.2 FRG83G had. I am thinking this is why I can not install PdaNet ? Any help before I attempt a root to run Barnacle (unless you can give me an easier wifi hack) greatly appreciated.

The easiest way is going to be with the below thread and flashing the v4 kernel, you don’t need to worry about downgrading or anything and it works great..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1092114
thanks for the help everyone... im gonna work on this now and ill let everyone know how it worked out
looks like i have to downgrade and go that route...we'll see what happens!

[Q] Can't root to save my life.

I've tried every method. Odin doesn't recognize my phone. I've downloaded drivers a half dozen times. I've gotten every file set up only to have odin just sit there without giving me a com.
Then I've tried several versions of z4, oneclickroot, and gingerbreak. Nothing works. I'm wondering if there's just no way to root or flash my phone.
I'm on an sgs i500.04
Gingerbread 2.3.5
K EI20
Was rooted with oneclick till update, through kies, to gingerbread.
Cspire.
Anyone please help. I'm going a little crazy over this.
i give up
I guess a way just doesn't exist for my phone.
Things I've tried unsuccessfully:
DoomLorD.zip (every version) (Unable to copy SU files, reboot, not rooted)
OneClick (every version)
Gingerbreak ( '' )
z4
SDK with adb recovery (E:signature verification failed)
Odin (will not recognize my phone in download mode)
Cannot get heimdall(sp) do download.? probably couldnt use it anyway.
I thought to wait on a rooted ICS version, and would love to flash that to my phone, but have no ODIN! Go figure.
Anyway, I guess there is just not a way to do my phone. It resists all methods. Does anyone else with a i500 Showcase on the kies update to gingerbread 2.3.5 have this problem? Is this Cspire gingerbread unhackable?
Hey, sent you a pm...
Same Problem
I have tried to root my Samsung galaxy s running 2.3.5 with base-band s:i500.04 K.EI20 for months since updating with kies. I've tried all of the same methods listed by the original poster has anyone worked out this issue as of yet? Please help if possible.

Who is your carrier?
jbreakfield, you're alive?
samsung drivers
Do you have proper samsung drivers installed for your windows version..Also check to see if usb debugging is activated. Im no expert but hopefully this helps.
Another idea is to try a different usb port. I had one go bad.
I spent about a day uninstalling, rebooting, installing several different drivers. Also rebooting after each new install. No matter what I did ODIN wouldn't see my phone.
I got the idea to try another usb on the back of my desktop pc.
ODIN finally connected!
Hope this helps. Regards.

Rumors of my death are greatly exaggerated...
SuperOneClick

enable debugging on the phone, plug it in, if you need drivers use the ones inside the zip file. Run the program and hopefully the rest is pretty self-explanatory.

[Q] Samsung Captivate I897 WIFI PROBLEM!!!!! Doesn't work after root...

So I somehow screwed up my phones ability to use wifi. I have already googled this for days and couldn't find anything helpful.
This is what I did:
I had originally rooted my phone (Samsung Captivate i897) when it had Froyo 2.2 but later upgraded to Gingerbread 2.3.5 via Kies.
[EDIT] (I don't know why, but I thought that I had GB 2.3.3)
A few days ago, I discovered that I know longer had superuser access and looked into it; sure enough, my phone was no longer rooted. I decided to root it again.
I put my phone into download mode w/ debug mode on and used-
Odin3 v1.7 and flashed the file "I897UCKF1-AutoRoot-DesignGears.tar"
All seemed good...until I went to enable the wifi.
Whenever I try, It turns on and automatically begins scanning for networks (normal). After a few seconds it disconnects wifi without so much as a warning.
I really need my phone's wifi back! I use it a lot in my programming classes. PLEASE HELP ME!!! YOU GUYS ARE MY LAST HOPE!!!!!
[EDIT] Also, I believe that this root was for 2.3.3. Not sure if that could be the problem and yes...I am an idiot...
That kernel is not meant to be used full time. You need to flash back to the original kernel.

Happy to help. You can also flash other kernels such as Corn that already have root access.
Also, in the future, questions need to go in the Q&A section not in General.
