[Q] New radio. Phone not booting. Cant mount SD - HTC Sensation

Okay I've got a problem when phone could not find signal. It just started at a random moment not after rom install or something.
My configuration was:
Firmware: Not sure exactly but it's definitely one of those: 3.12.401.2/102 RUU or
3.24.401.1 & 3.25.401.101 RUU
ROM
ROM: ARHD 6.5.0
So I decided to install InsertCoin 5.1.7
I've run SuperWipe from ARHD installed it and phone started up normaly.
The radio:
1) I've downloaded:
Ice Cream Sandwich Base From the 3.24.401.1 RUU & HTC-RIL 4.0.0012HMQ from this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1202867
2) I've copied PG58IMG to sd and installed trough bootloader.
3) I've run SuperWiperARHD and installed HTC-RIL 4.0.0012HMQ trough Recovery install from zip.
Now my phone is stuck at SENSATION logo (which is the actually the HTC logo but it is replaced in Insertcoin rom.
I decied to do recovery which I made after I installed InsertCoin rom but now Recovery can't find my SD card.
Please advice me what to do.

I've managed to flash 3.12.401.2/102 RUU radio by this method:
1. Check the MD5 checksum of the radio.img file against the RADIO.IMG MD5 checksum below. Download whatever utility you like to do it with, but please check it first to lower the potential risk of bricking your phone.
2. Connect your phone into a PC, and make sure that USB Debugging is enabled on the phone.
3. Open a command prompt on the PC. Change to the directory where your phone tools with adb.exe are located.
4. Type:
Code:
cd \phonetools
adb reboot bootloader
5. Once your phone is in bootloader and you see a white screen with text and FASTBOOT USB near the top of the screen, type:
Code:
fastboot flash radio radio.img
6. When the flashing completes, type
Code:
fastboot reboot
7. Done. Enjoy!
And again phone was not booting afte the HTC logo. So I laucneh 4ext Recovery this time SD was mounted I did restore and nice Sensation booted up. So 2 questions:
1)Apparently restoring restores old radio too? Am I right?
2)What could be the reasons the radio install went wrong. I am happy my phone booted but I am not satisfied when I don't know the source of the error.
EDIT: Signal problem is from SIM card. Should have tried this before reflashing but I was so sure it's phone fault. Never mind still curious what caused the phone not to boot Android after radio flash.

Wow, you got that in about an hour. That's really good and hopefully may help some other poor soul save his phone.

Well I didn't do much the restore fixed my problem but I am still frustrated I can't understand the origin of it. Please help me to solve why the phone didn't want to boot when I installed the new radio.

someone correct me if im wrong, But insertcoin 5.1.7 requires firmware 3.32 and according to your first post your still running firmware 3.12 / 3.24
That would explain the bootloop, All you need to do is grab the 3.32 firmware and flash that and the ROM *should* work...
The ROM is attempting to boot from outdated firmware, hence the bootloop.
EDIT: Its possible the radio was a bad download, Did you check MD5 Checksum... Did the radio and RIL match ? Was the radio you downloaded for use with YOUR CURRENT firmware ?

If it requires 3.32 I am with 3.32 beacuse before I flashed the radio there was not bootloop (I never had bootlop with new radio flashed i had stuck on HTC logo) and I check the MD5 sums.

If you are stuck on HTC logo, that is a bootloop, Did the phone ever boot past HTC or was it stuck on that until you restored ?
Is your phone working now ? Check your firmware under settings > About phone.
The latest InsertCoin ROM requires 3.32 firmware, It says it on the first post of the thread. You mentioned in your first post you didnt know which Fimrware you was on it was either 3.12 / 3.24 / 3.25 --- you need(ed) 3.32

I have 3.32 firmware. Phone was booting normally before I installed the radio. After only to HTC logo. After restore phone is working.

Well that kinda points out that the fault is with the radio then which you knew of course
Is the radio you are flashing the one recommended for your ROM ?

I couldn't find recommended radio for InsertCoin. The problem occurred after I installed the radio so the problem is with the radio that's for sure. But I didn't saw anywhere any restrictions what radios I can flash based on my firmware with the 3.32 I should be able to flash 3.12 or 3.24 radio right?

try this one http://tinyurl.com/7ojldhn
this is recommended for 3.32 firmware.

Thanks but I think I wont mess anymore with the radio for now since my problem was from the SIM card but I just wanted to solve the mystery why the phone was stuck at HTC logo.

[GUIDE] A must read for those noobs who want to enjoy ICS

Hi, I have seen a lot of noobs are having boot loop and other issues to install ICS. Therefore I am creating this thread for those rookie users who wants to use ICS on their Sensation. I have tried to put all the thread links which are enriched with such information. Hope this will help all the rookie sensationers.
Firmware flashing, Radio Flashing and Custom ROM installation are risky and may brick your device if you make any mistake or if there is power failure. I am not responsible for any damage caused to your device.
I am assuming that you already have S-OFF and a suitable custom Recovery installed. (CWM or 4EXT etc). If you are not sure then you must read this thread. Be very careful while perform any task related to S-OFF and custom Recovery installation.
Learn basic ADB (Android Debugging Bridge) command. A good adb how to can be found here in xda.
Please note that all ICS based ROMs require the new firmware V3.12 and above. I would recommend the latest firmware V3.32 to flash .This is the latest stable release from HTC. This firmware is not backward compatible. Remember if you do not flash this firmware and install ICS ROMs , then you will have boot loop.
The official HBOOT version in this firmware is 1.20 or 1.23, or 1.27.000 which are locked. This deprecates some extended HBOOT commands like flashing radio, splash image etc. Mike1986 has posted a patched firmware V3.32 with HBOOT 1.27.1100 Revolutionary. This removes those limitations.
******* Note: Very few users reported that even after flashing v3.24 firmware , they got bootloop. But when they flashed v3.12 firmware, they were fine. So if you fall into the category of those very few users , then try to flash v3.12 firmware. Some users pointed out that the HBOOT 1.27.1100 was the actual reason to cause the bootloop. So another solution is to replace the patched HBOOT 1.27.1100 with the older HBOOT from V3.12 firmware package. Recently released firmware V3.32 and V3.30 have the same hboot v1.27.1100 Revolutionary as in V3.24. So who ever got bootloop with V3.24 , they will be still in bootloop with V3.30 and V3.32. The advice is same . Just stick to V3.12 firmware or replace the HBOOT of V3.30/V3.32 with the HBOOT found in V3.12 or the official untouched HBOOT V1.27.000 released in untouched V3.32 firmware. Few users got ARHD 6.5.X working with V3.12 firmware too. So you can also have a try.Remember v3.12 firmware is compatible for both Gingerbread and IceCream Sandwich. But the GB ROM must be sense 3.5 based else again you may get bootloop. *******
If anyone wants to update to official untouched firmware V3.32 with HBOOT 1.27.000 , they can follow this thread.
V3.12 Firmware can also be downloaded from the same thread.
Before you begin to flash any ICS based ROM, please flash v3.32 firmware. This firmware package includes a good radio. So no additional radio flashing is required. If any ROM suggests specific radio, then you have to flash it separately.
EDIT:
New firmware V3.32 is out with release of Android Revolution HD 6.5.1 by mike1986. The firmware has minor changes from the V3.24 . Sense 3.6 based ICS ROM willl work with this firmware. ASOP ICS like Virtuous is also working. Firmware v3.32 posted by mike1986 has the same patched unlocked HBOOT 1.27.1100 as in V3.24 . So extended fastboot commands are available.
1. Firmware Flashing:
Do a NANDROID backup after booting into recovery. ( Switch off your phone. Pull back the battery. Wait a minute. Put your battery back in the phone. Press POWER+VOlUME – Key together. Wait till the bootloader is ready. Select Recovery by pressing VOLUME- key. Then Press POWER button.)
Download the right firmware from this thread.Check the MD5 checksum of your downloaded file to be 200% sure that your file is not damaged. (To see md5 checksum of your downloaded file in linux environment open terminal. Navigate to the directory where your file is downloaded by typing :
$ cd /home/your-username/Downloads/
Change the directory address as per your download location
Then type :
$ md5sum yourfilename.zip
This will return the md5 checksum value.
In windows environment download md5 checksum calculating utility from here or here . Install it and check the md5 checksum value of your downloaded file.
Now you can compare this value with the value given by the actual uploader of the file. It must be matched else redownload the file. )
Read the thread thoroughly and follow every required step to flash the firmware. Do not skip any step. While flashing firmware follow the onscreen instruction on your phone. After flashing firmware, do not forget to delete the firmware zip file (PG58IMG.zip) from your sdcard root.
Remember restore of NANDROID backup will not restore your firmware. I am suggesting it if you want to go back to your original state then you can restore it from the nandroid backup but only after downgrading your firmware into original one.
2. Custom ROM installation:
Download the ROM of your choice. And follow the specific flashing information for that specific ROM. Generally the method is as follows.
a. Download your custom ROM.
b. Check the MD5 checksum of the downloaded file to be 200% sure that your downloaded zip is not damaged.
c. Copy your ROM on the root of your SDCARD.
d. Boot into Recovery.
e. Do a nandroid backup. If anything goes wrong
f. Do a Superwipe.
g. Install your ROM.
h. Install the specific radio if required.
i. Reboot. Wait atleat for 7 to 10 Minutes for firstboot.
j. Enjoy your cutom ROM.
A good guide for ARHD ROM can be found here. If you want to use ARHD 6.5.X then flash V3.32 firmware.
REPEAT:
******* Note: Very few users reported that even after flashing v3.24 or V3.30 or V3.32 firmware , they got bootloop. But when they flashed v3.12 firmware, they were fine. So if you fall into the category of those very few users , then try to flash v3.12 firmware. Some users pointed out that the patched HBOOT 1.27.1100 Revolutionary was the actual reason to cause the bootloop. So another solution is to replace the HBOOT 1.27.1100 with the older HBOOT from V3.12 firmware package. Recently released firmware V3.32 and V3.30 have the same hboot V1.27.1100 as in V3.24.
3. BATTERY CALIBRATION:
After you install a Custom ROM you should perform battery calibration. To do this, charge your battery till 100%. I suggest to install app Current Widget and Battery calibration. When the current widget shows 0mAH current draw, your battery is actually charged fully. Now you can boot into recovery and then remove battery stat form the tools menu. Alternatively you can do it with Battery calibrator app on your phone itself.
Once you have calibrated , remove the charger and keep your phone into sleep for at least 1 to 2 hours. After this use your phone. I am sure you will get a good battery life.

Please read this thread to know how to post or reply in a thread.
7. SENSATION THEMES :
Themes related post can be found in this thread. But remember most of the themes are ROM specific. So before you install very sure that it is supported by your ROM.
8. SPLASH SCREEN , BOOTANIMATION, BOOTSOUND, AND DOWNANIMATION
For splash screen customization read these threads.
a. Linux Splash tool and flashable splash.zip
b. [UTILITY][v1112.3]MySplash - Splash screen backup and flash program for Sensation
c. Change the White HTC Splash image to what you want
d. The EASISET way to flash splash screens
e. Bootsplash, bootanimation, etc
For Bootanimation, downanimation and boot sound follow these threads.
a. NEWii bootanimation "Ice Cream Sandwich"
b. |BOOTAnimation| from HD video - qHD + bootsound
c. Bootsound for ARHD 6.2.1
d. |BOOT & DOWN Animation| HTC Black
9. REVERTING BACK TO GINGERBREAD:
If you feel that ICS is not your cap of tea for time being and you need to go back to Gingerbread, then you have to downgrade the sensation firmware.
You can downgrade to v3.12 (for sense 3.5 based GB ROM only) or to v1.17 for any GB ROM.
Firmware v1.17 does not include a radio. So your present radio will be preserved. If your custom rom suggest a different radio, you have to flash it separately in fastboot mode.
You can download these firmware here. Please follow that thread for flashing instruction.
TO FLASH RADIO VIA FASTBOOT:(Remember this method will work only if your HBOOT is unlocked; official HBOOT 1.20 is locked where as Revolutionary HBOOT 1.27 is unlocked)
Download the required radio. If it is in zip, extract it . You will get a file radio.img or similar. Put this file in the folder where fastboot and adb binary is present. Generally it is in the 'platform-tools' folder. Now,
a. Connect your phone into a PC, and make sure that USB Debugging is enabled
b. Click "Charge Only". on your sensation.
c. Open a command prompt.
d. Start adb by issuing "adb start-server"command. (If you are in windows environment you have to go to the directory where adb binary is present; normally it is in 'platform-tools' folder)
e. Type: adb devices
f. If it lists your sensation, then you are connected to your sensation via adb.
g. Type: "adb reboot bootloader"
h. Once your phone is in bootloader (white screen with text), type "fastboot flash radio radio.img" . Change radio.img into your-file-name.img if required.
i. When the flashing completes, type "fastboot reboot"
j. Done. Enjoy!

You forgot something really basic. ALWAYS CHECK MD5 when you flash something crucial like firmware radio hboot etc

Thanks for pointing out though I have already mentioned it in custom rom installation section. Now I have edited the firmware flashing section.
Now if only you could get noobs to actually read it BEFORE they brick their phones. Wouldn't that be something? Nice write up though!
Besides the MD5 check, this is one of the most complete how-to's in the sensation section. thanks mate.

This is very helpful. Just have one problem. I know I'm super Cid. Advanced showed me11111111. Went to firmware guide and don't know which 3.24 download to use. I guess it would be the one in the HTC column or in the T-Mobile column. Any ideas?

One more thing. Will I lose root after flashing 3.24 firmware?

You will not lose root. And also you will remain s-off. Your root access depends on the ROM and it's kernel you are going to use.
But remember if you flash official ruu you will lose root. Your custom recovery will be over written by the official one. But again you will remain s-off.
As you are having supercid , you can choose any v3.24 firmware package from the list. But chose your firmware depending on your service provider.if you are a Tmobile customer choose Tmobile firmware.......

Link on 5. is broken
Also, add that supercid needs redoing sometimes even if one done it before or it shows as supercid. Especially after flashing firmware.

Thanks.. link fixed... But not sure about superCID redoing. I have changed my firmware several times but still I am having superCID. [Guide] to Installing S-off, Unlocking, ClockWork, Root, SuperCID & S-on also suggests to do superCID only once.

ok i got litle bit from all over no clue who posted it dont care just telling you how i fix my phone
i tried to get 3.24-3.32 firmware on it and wouldnt go ketp boot looping
or any problems your having installing O.T.A update
i was asked why host files on 3rd party cuz i got sick of none working ones i know the ones i got posted work
Firstly - you HAVE to be running 1.50.401.1 to use this OTA file. and 1.17 firmware If you're on ANY other build it wont work
firmware can be found here for 1.17
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1459767
You also have to be 100% stock (e.g. NOT rooted). If you are running a custom ROM you HAVE to use the http://www.4shared.com/file/risaQet4/RUU_Pyramid_HTC_Europe_1454012.htm RUU to get back to stock but you HAVE to leave the phone S-OFF. THIS RUU IS NOT FOR XE
Xe is here if you can get link to work i am not hosting this file http://www.filefactory.com/file/c0a...00U_10.15.9035.02_2_release_214840_signed.exe

1. You're now running stock gb 2.3.3 with Sense 3.0
2. download the 3.32.401.5 OTA file from HTC http://www.4shared.com/zip/SKaYUBFP/OTA_Euro_3324015.html . You do NOT have to rename the file
3. Put let this.download
4. turn phone on load it all the way UPDATE IT WITH O.T.A 2X FIRST IS NOTHING SECOND IS 1.50 AND WILL LET YOU UPDATE TO 3.32
5. find file from step from 2
6. Copy the file to the root of your SD card
7. Turn your phone off and turn it back on whilst holding the volume down button.
8. Select 'Recovery' from the menu to enter the stock Recovery. If CWM loads up, stop now and flash the RUU again
9. When you get to the screen with the red ! on it, hold volume up and press power. It will say 'cant open cache/recovery/command' and then bring up the recovery menu
Select the option to apply an update from your SD card and then select the OTA file
7. Wait the 10 minutes or so for it to flash
8. When prompted, reboot the phone
above was edited form poster as to what i did
12. onec you flash the 3.32.401.5 OTA file from sd card

You are amazing, thanks!
Ill try it as fast as i can.
Thank you, this cured my boot loop.
I just posted this over on the ARHD thread. Do you think that this maybe my case? Any advise would be greatly appreciated.
About a week ago I SuperCID my phone. I then went to load a ICS ROM. I have not been able to get my phone to do anything but startup into HBOOT and/or Recovery. I either was getting stuck in a boot loop or would get the "HTC Quietly Brilliant" screen. I spent the whole weekend on the forums and still no luck. I was hoping someone could see something that I maybe doing wrong. The one issue that I know is wrong is the Radio version needed for ARHD is 11.69.3504.00U_11.22.3504.07_M. I tried to use a program called Android Flasher to load the correct radio but I don't think that that occurred. Below is all the information that I can gather.
TMOUSA Sensation 4G
On HBOOT Screen:
Revolutionary
Pyramid PVT SHIP S-Off RL
HBOOT - 1.27.1100
Radio - 11.22.3504.07_M
OpenADSP - V02.6.0.2226.00.0131
eMMC - Boot
Jan 13, 2012 17:33:34
Other specifics:
ARHD 6.51.1.zip ROM
ARHD SuperWipe.zip
4EXT v1.0.0.4 RC1 installed and working properly
PG58IMG is 3.32 for TMOUSA
CID and MID
CID 11111111
MID PG5810000
Any help would be greatly appreciated. If needed, I can upload a copy of the logcat while the phone boots up. Thanks in advance.
best best flash firmware 1,17 and then restart
then runn the ruu file
turn phone on fastboot make sure no img files in sd card ruu will see phone and bring you to step 1 in my post
fastboot is 1 step past were firmware installs make sure you have no img on sd card
its the firmware some of our phone just dont want to take it from 2.24-3.32 not sure why if your not getting in rom you can try backing up sd card formate it putting rom on it only rewipe and flash with nothing on it "king said dirty sd card" and try if not follow my steps
I will definitely try this tomorrow. Your instructions will work with TMOUSA correct?
carrier dont matter when you play with cid
but yeah tmob will work

Sorry dear. I could not get in touch with my pc. Nice that you have solved it. Thanks for sharing..

Firstly - you HAVE to be running 1.50.401.1 to use this OTA file. and 1.17 firmware If you're on ANY other build it wont work
firmware can be found here for 1.17

OK dumb question. Will the 1.17 FW load the 1.50.401.1 with it or do I have to get that from somewhere?

You also have to be 100% stock (e.g. NOT rooted). If you are running a custom ROM you HAVE to use the http://www.4shared.com/file/risaQet4/RUU_Pyramid_HTC_Europe_1454012.htm RUU to get back to stock but you HAVE to leave the phone S-OFF.

I know with the RUU that the phone has to be up and running. Is there a way to run the RUU if the phone can only be loaded into HBOOT or recovery?
Yeah ruu will run in fastboot make sure you have no IMG files

Here's where I'm at now. I cannot update to 1.50 because HTC complains of a "Variant System Version" when I try to do the 1.50 OTA. I simply cannot figure out any way around this. My recovery is stock, CID is HTC__001 as you mentioned, and I can't move forward because I can't get this 1.50 installed.

Ran the RUU, let the phone boot up, checked for updates, update fails with the error I mentioned above.
I do not have the XE, just the regular Virgin Sensation. I had Virtuous 3.0.0 on there before but was trying to upgrade to 4.0.0 and got the boot loop after upgrading the firmware.
Would it not be easier just to RUU straight to 1.50?
So I decided to run an old'ish ICS Pyramid RUU I had lying around that I *knew* worked previously, RUU_PYRAMID_LE_ICS_35_S_HTC_Europe_3.06.401.101_Radio_11.59.3504.00U_11.16.3504.16_M_test_231336.
Then I flashed recovery, latest 3.32 firmware, did superwipe & virtuous 4.0.0. Everything works perfect!
Well if you don't have a xe the ruu should not have worked hmmmm yeah you can run Thu to 150 but all the ones I downloaded didn't work with bootloops

Bricked and confused

Hello,
I recently bricked my Sensation. It is an unbranded with CID 102.
After several tries to get it to ICS 4.0.3 I left my device useless, at first it boots every 15 seconds and remains stuck in cont. reboots. After fullwipe it hangs at HTC bootlogo for 15 min and more.
I´ve used revolutionary 0.4 an I managed to get full permanent root with htcsupertoolv3.
Clockwork is installed.
In recover I am unable to mount everything, it will just not mount - updates will stop after 1 sec. Log says, it can´t access certain directories.
Most of the partitions won´t mount such as cache partition sd-ext, it will always say error monuting cache, error mounting ...
I can´t flash anything at all, the PG58IMG will go allright at first sight, but afterwards it won´t boot.
Anything I can do at this point?
]
Thx in advance.
Well I can tell you it's not bricked, if you can access hboot/recovery, so good sign I hope have you tried running an RUU?
Sent from my Sensation using XDA
Yes, I have. It will run and finsih with no errors. Still no boot and no mounts.
Tried tis: RUU_Pyramid_HTC_Europe_1.50.401.1_R_Radio_10.58.9035.00U_10.15.9035.02_2_release_228602_signed.exe
Also I have CID 1111111
Yeah it definitely isn't bricked, I'll see if I can quickly come up with a solution!
1. I need some more info first, did you flash an ICS rom before running that P58IMG.zip? or were you on gingerbread (Android 2.3 - sense 3.0)?
2. according to what you've said, you can't mount your SD card at all in the recovery?? (that sounds so weird) - So I'm assuming you can't flash roms or anything? It doesn't make sense because you can still flash the P58IMG.zip...
3. Have you tried flashing the old P58IMG? The older firmware 1.17? If worse comes to worst... This last method should fix it. An RUU Should also fix what error you have going on right now as well! Let us know how it goes!
1) I was on Gingerbread and HTC Sense 3.0 and I followed the guides step by step - first I did all OTA updates
2) I can access SD-Card it, but every firmware will fail, in hboot it will went through but in recovery it will stop at 0%
3) Yes, I tried every versions available

After checking multiple forums I did below steps, sounds unusual but worked perfectly for me, you may want to try this at your own risk:
1. Used htc dev unlock method and then using 4ext recovery formatted all partitions except sdcard
2. Installed custom rom Android Revolution HD 3.6.13, which is a 2.3.4 rom as no other 2.3.x worked, can be downloaded from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=14191938&postcount=1as multiupload is not working so couldn't download any rom from there, so used above one
3. Reboot sensation, used revolutionary to get S-OFF
4. RUU was not flashing so I did this : Relocked my phone by running "Fastboot OEM lock" with phone in fastboot USB and then reboot the phone
5. From http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1193033, Used METHOD 2 - ENG HBOOT [both Flash ENG HBOOT & Download an RUU and then Flash RUU (rom.zip)]
6. Once phone boots up, run the STOCK RUU.exe as normal (required else phone would not install OTA though downloads it without problem),
7. Once done and rebooted, used commands from http://theunlockr.com/2011/10/03/how-to-unroot-the-htc-sensation-4g/ to put S_ON back
8. Result , I am relocked, S-ON and on STOCK with OTA installing without problem
Thank you, that did the trick.
I am now on stock ROM. Everything ok. It took quite a while, but thx again for help.
To be sure not to mess up again, what to do next? I am confused about the size of the roms, are they really such small (14 MB)?
And what does that mean: "Best way is to place Firmware PG58IMG.zip, ROM and Superwipe script on the root of your SD Card."
Where to get the "ROM" ans "Superwipe script"
a ROM will be much bigger than 14mb so what you have its wrong. You can get super wipe from Mikes Android revolution thread. And putting it on the root of sd card means on the sd card and NOT in any folders. Can't post links for you sorry. I'm on mobile version
Sent from my HTC Sensation XE with Beats Audio using XDA
So this is what I try:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1459767
Step 3) The Firmware PG58IMG.zip is 14MB, so I put it on root. It also contains the wipe.zip file
But what about the "ROM"? Sorry, I´ve flashed nearly every Windows based HTC in the past years, but all Win Mobiles ROMS are only at one piece, but this I just don´t get it worked on android.
So far my unit ist rooted an has CID 11111 and 4ext installed.
Ok, I just found the links here:

Finally up und running ICS 4.03. Thank you again.

flashing radio.

hey there. Just another noob question:
How can I find out what radio am I using? Can I flash the PG zip archive in recovery just like I flash the kernel? If so, do I always need to do that when I install roms? Is the radio included in the rom? I think of it as like firmware or recovery, you have to flash the lastest when it was released and that's about it, it does not get wiped when you go to format all parititions, right?
How about firmware? Can I flash this too in recovery? Thx.
To flash firmware you place the pg58img file at the root of sd card , then you boot into bootloader by pulling battery putting battery back in press volume and power at the same time, it will recognise the update and ask to continue press power for yes, let it update them REMOVE the pg58img file from your card or it will continuously try to update the file! I remove mine by pulling the sd card and put in a card reader and delete the file. Delete it how ever you want just make sure you delete it ok. Then your done. That's how you install firmware. Hope I helped.

Hi,
To check radio, go to:
Settings/ about phone/ software information/ more/ baseband version.
Radio gets installed with the firmware.
It does not need to be flashed with every ROM.
Yes, it gets flashed in recovery.
It does not get wiped when you wipe the partitions.
Be very careful when flashing radio or firmware.
Always check the md5 checksum
If you flash the wrong one, or a bad one, it will brick your phone.
So i can flash firmware in 4ext right? If it is wrong... should i get any warning message? Thx

Hi,
Yes, you can.
What firmware do you have, and what firmware do you want to flash?
Sent telepathically from my pyramid
Hi to flash firmware I usually put the firmware on the root of my sd card and flash from bootloader by pulling battery putting battery back in, pressing volume and power at the same time, the device will recognise the update and ask to continue, press power for yes. Once it's updated don't forget to REMOVE the pg58img file from the sd card or it will continue to try to update over and over . So when its finished just delete the file of your sd card. I use a card reader to do this. I just pop out my sd put into card reader and plug into computer and delete the file then put card back into device . But if you don't have a card reader its ok just delete the file however you can. Then your good to go. Hope this helps some . This is how I do my firmware. Best wishes.

tried flashing radio in recovery, by installing the PG zip file but got installation aborted.

yep for radio and hboot change you require SOFF ..when you are SON but HTC-DEV unlocked ..you can only change roms and recovery ..you cant modify firmware
so that's why it would not work... i'll stick with s-on for now since 3.32 works fine for me for all roms... ill get soff when most roms will reqire newer firmware... i dint really wanna do wire trick to get full root.. is there another way of getting this on 1.27 hboot? Thx ganesh..

Hboot radio
Rather than start a new thread I thought I would just expand this one.
My query is:
Bootloader on my phone is showing
HBOOT 1.27.1100
RADIO 11.24A.3504.31_M
(Rev S-OFF) got this from flashing universal 3.33 by mike
I wanted to know is this the latest radio I need for jellybean roms? I am having the Wi-F- turning on issues
I see some of them mention Radio_11.76A? Is this the full name for the radio above?
I have pushed this through Fastboot ADB so am I on the right one?
I have also pushed the Boot.img from each rom and updated to Faux latest kernels but none of this seems to solve the wifi issues

try some sense rom and see whether you got any wifi error or not

As long as the radio starts with 11 (11.24A, 11.76A etc) it is ICS compatible
I would still update to the latest radio (11.76A) available here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1202867
And then do a full wipe of all partitions through 4EXT (don't use superwipe, causes problems) and reinstall ARHD.

[Q] Cannot Nandroid restore my sensation because of BOOT LOOP

I even have two nandroid backups and when I restore any one, the restoration goes fine but then, when i reboot,I get into a boot loop again.
DO YOU PLEASE HAVE ANY IDEAS what could be the problem?

Hi,
Are you sure about your:
FIRMWARE:3.31.401.6
3.31 is a very unusual number
As mentioned above check your firmware because any ics rom will require 3.33 or 3.32 firmware, 3.33 being the Newest. So you MUST have either of those firmware to run ICS. Some roms require 3.33. So I would update my firmware to 3.33. You can update the firmware by placing the firmware file pg58img at root of SD card, pull battery, put battery back in, press volume down and power until the menu comes up, it will recognise the file and ask to continue. Press power for yes. Once it's finished updating you MUST remove the pg58img file from the device or it will continue to try an update over and over. I will send you a link on firmware. Please read over the instructions carefully! Hope this helps
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1459767 you can find your firmware and institutions here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1631861
Find AssKickers S-ON rooting and flashing guide and i will have some info about boot looping. You just need the boot.img from your ROM using cmd if I'm right and your phone should boot back up.
