maybe you can help me.
I'm trying to extract the stock rom from E730 firmware using this tool:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1692191
everything fine, i have the V10B_00.dz ok
then i'm using dzdecryptor: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=453469
but i have no success at all ,it extract a system.img.ext file ,recovey.img ,but not boot.img
When i'm trying to extract system.img (renaming) with unyaffs i get an error.
Any way to extract the .dz correctly?
ok i've extracted the boot img with dzdecryter v0.5
now i have:
boot.img
system folder
meta-inf folder
full structure to work on :victory:

you gonna build custom rom for e730???:cyclops:
Yes,that's the idea:
Full flashable stock rom and a clean (light and tweaked) stock rom.
The objective is to have some base to work on.
With the base we could make custom roms with the stock, where everything works correctly.

[ICS][CWM] Stock ROM & kernel with root/init.d support (Updated with CWM ROM)

While some of you have installed the ICS leaked ROM, still, the kernel source is not yet released by Samsung. As a result, a custom kernel that compile from the source is not available in this moment.
Despite that, I have injected superuser and init.d support to the stock kernel. Please find below for the link (just flash it thru normal CWM flash zip process)
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/55832652/i9...ock/i9103_I9103XXLQ7_kernel_stock_tweak01.zip
Features:
1) Rooted. If your ROM is not rooted, after flashing this kernel, you will get root!
2) init.d support, so, the kernel will run custom script located in /system/etc/init.d/ (remember to set the init.d folders & files to 777 permission)
I am also preparing a CWM flashable ROM (flash thru normal CWM flash process)
After I received the kernel source from Samsung, I will patch back the changes in ardatdat v1.9beta kernel to that. Thanks.
*************************************************************
EDIT: The CWM flashable ROM is uploaded to multiupload:
Features:
1) Normal CWM flashable
2) Bundled with rooted & init.d kernel
3) Free up /system/ space: 22MB
File: CWM_CUSTOM_I9103XXLQ7_ROM01.zip
Link: http://www.multiupload.hk/VRZNGRRFI6
MD5: 2E100180B0124AF7B62707416A37DB8B
You could flash it using normal CWM flash zip process.
You might find out that the original ICS leak occupy a lot of space in /system/. As such, the ROM I have uploaded have chopped out some Samsung apps as well as the GenieWidget. This frees up 22MB in /system/
All are welcome to use that zip as a stepping stone to do further customization

Hmmm, interesting. I have 73MB's free space on my /system. I have Machram's backup and TouchWiz UX + SGS3 widgets installed and it doesn't exceed the partition size.

One silly Question to Ardatdat. dear, what is diff in this rom & kernel that makes ICS leaked rom from it..??
Also, what is the capacity of this Kernel..?? does it support to VOODOO sound as well..??
I know this is Silly, but please reply..

Kernel - Its Pre-rooted and has init.d script support. It will not support Voodoo as Ardatdat is waiting for Kernel source from samsung.
ROM - He made it as CWM flashable instead of a recovery file. Also he has deleted some bloats to get some free space.

init.d scripts are those set of scripts that will get executed each time when the mobile gets booted. Many System performance related scripts can be placed in \system\etc\init.d folder. For such scripts to get executed during boot time, the kernel shud supprt that. Ardatdat's kernel does tat job.
Do a complete cwm backup first. Then, flash the rom above in case u want to revert, restore the cwm backup.

I will buddy, but do I have to do data deleted or factory reset after flashing your ROM, coz Recently I have downloaded lots of applications..??:fingers-crossed:
OMG, my thanks is finished for today, I will hit thanks 2morrow for selva & Addy(ardatdat) also.
I theory, you could flash it directly and your data will not be deleted. But a factory reset is suggested if you upgrade from gingerbread to ics

If u r moving on from GB to ICS, do data wipe too buddy. Else u will face lot of FC, bit drag while scroll and battery drain will happen.

Yes if you add some extra permissions to the script (recursive perm 755 or 777 to /etc/init.d)
that's all I think

I think he's referring to RC5 which is available in Odin format only
I always wanted to flash broodrom rc5 rev 2 but my com has problems. While flashing the ROM through odin for a long time, my com's display just shuts off and the whole system gets stuck. I've been repairing the com several times but same issue. So could you make broodrom rc5 into a cwm zip?

How to add boot.img ?

hello people,
Might be a simple question.. but still its a question
i see that as of the new rules in XDA.. Devs here are removing the Boot.img from their ROM..
so how do I include this Boot.img to the ZIP before I flash ?
The simplest way to do would be better..
Thanks !

Boot.img includes the kernel, according the new xda policy dev are not allowed to include closed source kernel in their ROMs!
You have to download the official ROM , extract the boot.img and when you want to flash a new ROM just unzip it and add the boot.IMG repack and flash away!
Thanks for that !!
So, if I have a ZIP of ROM which I used previously..
I can even use the Boot.img of that and flash ?

You can do that if both the ROMs have same base...like stock ROM or Cynus
