I have HTC Sensation 4G (T-Mobile) and downloaded the 3.2 firmware here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1459767
I used T-Mobile one, though I guess it didn't matter because I have superCID. When I turn my phone on it keeps restarting at the white HTC screen, vibrates, then HTC screen again. Can't start up my phone.
Don't think it matters..but I did delete "su-2.3.6.3-efgh-signed" a while back.
Just put the correct PG58IMG on ur SD card and let the bootloader do the update once again ..
Remember also to remove the pg58img file from the sd card after the installation of the firmware

Do you guys know if there's an work towards a new firmware that will allow us with the boot loop to flash ROMs? I'd really like an AOSP ROM the only fix known is with HTC Sense.

Also keep in mind that when you install new firmware you have to wipe and reinstall your ROM. A lot of times the Cache and sometimes the Data partitions will corrupt when you install new firmware, so you will need to grab a flash-able ZIP of your current ROM (or Android Revolution HD, it's nice as well!).
Go into recovery mode, wipe everything but your SD card (of course) then install your ROM again from your SD card.

Oh wow. Firmware 3.32 only works with ICS ROMs, right? I didn't wipe and flash a new ROM, just ran the same Gingerbread HTC sense that came with the phone. That would probably be the reason why I bootloop?

Yeah, it's for ICS ROMs, but I would think it would still work with Gingerbread. I'm not sure. I know from experience that if you flash a new Radio, RIL, Firmware, etc it is recommended to reflash your ROM, no matter what ROM you're on. Since the OS relies on the firmware, RIL, and Radio that you were using before, it can't load the new package without a wipe.
The situation is kind of like switching ROMs and then dumping the Data and Cache partitions from your OLD ROM onto the new ROM before it even boots. In most cases, it won't boot.

What you needed to do was.
Upgrade firmware. Then once its done pull the battery out n take out your sd card. Power your device back on into recovery. Put your sd back in and do a super wipe, then install ARHD. Once it boots delete the firmware from the root of your sd

Do nandroid flash newest ics rom either it be insertion 4.4

Hey guys and Gals, I got my HTC Sensation on the release date and I decided to root it yesterday. Everything went fine and completed the root, then I tried to install THIS ROM after I made a Backup of my old ROM. So the ROM required me to Update ICS Firmware, so I downloaded the file and my phone asked me to update at Bootloader and I hit yes.
So here's my problem, after I tried to reboot my phone would get to the "HTC Quietly Brilliant" screen, and then restart the process over and over and over. Basically, the phone keeps hanging for about 5sec at the "HTC Quietly Brilliant" screen, and restarts after.
Sorry if I wrote too much, Please tell what I did wrong here, and if you want more info please ask. I need this phone up and running by tomorrow, PLEASE HELP!

You're sure the firmware update was successful? I don't see you mentioning anything about superCID in there... unless you got one that doesn't require superCID. It appears that some members do the firmware thing and are unaware that they failed to flash the firmware. Make sure you've got that flashed!
Oh and you also wiped prior to flashing right?
Please read the thread of the ROM you are trying to flash your phone with from beginning to end before flashing so you understand exactly what you are doing. Since ICS leaks the forum is littered with a hundred of these help threads.
Have you updated the correct firmware required to run ICS? Did you remember to remove the file from your ad card prior to rebooting the phone? As mentioned above did you super CID your device?

Yes I did SuperCID my phone when I was doing the rooting process. I did everything in that thread, but then flashed the other "PG58IMG" file since the ROM required it and then the flash was "Successfully Updated". No I didnt wipe my phone before I flashed the new firmware. Maybe thats my problem ?
PG58IMG file has to be deleted from the sd card after flashing firmware before the phone boots or you will get bootloop. From recovery, power off, remove the ad card and put it into a cardreader on your pc and delete the file, reinsert the ad card into phone and boot into recovery then you can flash the ROM.

You flash the appropriate Firmware and either flash a ROM based on Gingerbread, or flash one of the RUUs.

I came from cm7.1 i flashed the rom the same as i always flashed any other rom. Im not an expert or anything but im not a newb i have done this before. But what i didnt do was a suoerwhipe should i have done that? I followed how you are supposed to install it i even watched tutorial on youtube to make sure i did it right and i did.
What the rom keeps doing is rebooting my phonr and i keep getting stuck on the htc logo. It will go to thr htc logo then reboot thrn go back to the logog then reboot again it does that over and over. And even when i tried to flash my cm7 clockworkmod backup it didnt work it still did it that had me extremely nervous that i was screwed. To fix it i had to refkash the firmware and then fkash the rom again clear the cache and everything all over again.
I thought it was over but then it did it again i and i jusr went back to cm7. I really want to use this rom anybody know why it is doing this? And how i can fix this?

Firstly, you should always superwipe when going to a different ROM (that is, a ROM from a different family).
Secondly, read the first couple of posts in the Inquisition thread and make sure you are using the right firmware.
I am having the same doubt whether you have upgraded the firmware. If you are using ICS version of virtuous inquisition you must upgrade the firmware with v3.24 (Revolutionary) which has the HBOOT 1.27 . Please go through the following thread.

When you say firmware are you talking upgrading to 3.24? Because i didnt do that. I thought the only firmware you needed was the one included with the Rom that they tell you to install first. And boomboomer is right i also didnt delete the firmware .img.
But which one of these is causing the problem? Me not deleting the firmware.img off the root of the sd card. Or me not updating my htc firmware to 3.24?
I didnt know you had to update the firmware to 3.24 the first time a flashed this rom like 2 weeks ago i didnt do that and it seemed to work fine i just followed this youtube tutorial

3.24 is not "required" by the VI 3.0 rom, but most users that use it experience little to no problems, compared to the previous firmware. Bottom line, it's more stable using 3.24.
Your right i didnt. you think thats whats causing it?

Yes , you can . After flashing the ROM, do not reboot. Just power off. Then remove the sdcard . Put the the firmware file on the root of your sdcard using a pc. Insert the sdcard in phone. Boot into bootloader. Then follow on screen instruction. Hope you knowhow to boot into bootloader.
By the way, why not doing things in traditional way ??? I mean first flash firmware then you flash ROM.
I already flashed the rom and don't have an adapter to plug my sd card into my PC. Can I just download it from my phone and move it to the root of my SD then boot into bootloader?
And I flashed the rom first because i was told updating to 3.24 wasn't required. Plus I was kind of confused as to which 3.24 firmware to download and i just wanted the rom to bad but I have the right firmware now.

Hi there,
I've been flashing roms for more than one year now and never had a problem before (I never did a Nandroid backup )
I was using the Virtuous Inquisomething for the past month but I decided to try the Quattro version. Finding it too laggy, I decided to go back to the Inquisi... But problem, after flashing it, my phone keebs rebooting... Htc logo, shows the V logo (sometimes doesn't), black out, then restarts again. I tried different roms, HD Revolution, Light Rom, even the Quattro that I had before but my phone keeps rebooting. I flashed the Firmware to the 3.30, same thing. I wiped the dalvik cache, the cache and everything I could wipe but I have the same problem !
I tried to flash an original file, a Ruu but my computer can't find my phone because I can only access the ToggleUSB via the recovery
Do you guys know how to fix this? Anyone has a Nandroid Backup that I can use? (Tmobile - Sensation 4G? )
Thank you in advance
Curiously, have you ever superwiped your Sensation while doing all these flashes? There might be some residual files here and there that's just causing chaos inside the phone. D:

Hi There
I am just over begginner level, so I hope someone can help me!
I have a HTC Sensation
- It is rooted
- Bootloadeer is unlocked
- CWM recovery is flashed and working
I installed the ELEGANCIA custom rom to the phone and all was fine, apart from the WIFI was not working. In a stupid moment of madness, I flashed the stock kernel to the phone through the One X software.
So now, when I load the phone, I just get the white HTC screen and can go no further.
As previously stated, I can get into clockworkmod and fastboot etc.
I have the correct kernel package on my PC, but have no idea how to flash it with the phone in this state, or if indeed this will even work. I just want to get back to a working phone now
I do have access to another phone, so I can put zip files etc onto my SD card if that helps.
Is there a rom with the correct firmware/kernels built into it, so I can literally just install the rom through clockworkmod in recovery to overwrite the old kernels automatically.
Or can anyone give me advice on what to do now. Much appreciated in advance.
Thanks
Marc
ps I still have the ROM on my SD card for ELEGANCIA and it installs if I attempt to reinstall, but the kernel is incorrect I far as I understand, hence why it just goes to the white screen again. Do I just need to flash the correct kernel, if so where is it and how do I flash in this state. Ahhh, sorry its a new phone, been up until 5am!

No, I did not. Basically once the ROM installed, if you have ever seen the One X all in one kit, I pressed (stupidly) flash stock kernel (I think it was 2.6.394) and then got the white screen. If I flash the boot image from the ROM, I will still have the incorrect kernel will I not? Or will that trigger the ZIP file on my SD card, which has the correct kernel? Sorry if I sound like a complete idiot, I have gone above my head on this!

One final question
Does this 4EXT automatically detect the custom kernel during the install.
"Follow through the steps and when it asks you to install a custom kernel it would be preferable to select YES, when Installing stock Kernel it is possible you will have Wifi problems. (see Step 3) "
The example it gives is for the Android Revolution HD . Is the firmware different from the stock kernel?
I am just confused with what I done on the One X software, I just clicked 'flash stock kernel' or should I not worry about this?

If You enable smartflash that will take care of it..
And the line you quoted is obsolete.. The smartflash will work for any kernel.. And it won't break wifi (even if it breaks the wifi it can be fixed)

Thank you so much, I will get on it when I finish work.
Just for final clarification, have you ever used/seen the HTC one X toolkit software? The button I pressed, which said 'flash stock kernel' which is what caused me the problems.
Are you saying that following the guide fully and enabling the smart on the 4ext recovery will reverse whatever this done and rewrite the kernel from the ROM, without me having to do anything else? I won't for example have to download and flash a new kernel to get HTC evolution HD (the one given in the example) to work?
I just fear that the fact I have already rewritten to stock kernel using this one X toolkit means problems? But if following the guide corrects this, then great. Hope that makes sense.
