[Q] Huawei ideos s7 slim - CM7 kernel not working - Android Software/Hacking General [Developers Only]

Hello,
I decided to make my own cyanogen mod kernel for ideos s7 slim tablet, so I make steps included in cyanogenmod wiki for building kernel.
After some modifications, my kernel compiled, but when i flash it my table freezes on ideos logo. Maybe someone have a clue why I can't boot with this kernel ?
For my system partition i used CM7 mod for ideos s7(touchscreen not working on s7 slim)

Ok so I successfully compilled kernel for s7 slim - now it boots but I noticed something weird.
When I split stock boot.img and merge it again with mkbootimg I can see kernel messages on tablet screen + adb not working.
When I flash stock boot.img it works normally.
Have someone idea what is going on ?
Sorry for my bad english but I am from poland.

[Q] Issues of 4.1 stock recovery with 4.2 ROM?

Hello guys.. I would be grateful if any of you could help me with your thoughts regarding this matter...
For security reasons I prefer flashing stock recovery and locking down the boot loader after I settle on a custom rom/kernel combo. Been doing this for a while and I dont mind building my phone up from the scratch when I change ROM.
With CM 10.1 stable coming up.. I think I'll finally switch to 4.2 in a few weeks time. I read on the forums that the file system change in 4.2 doesn't play nice with 4.1 recoveries and ends up creating duplicate folders all over the place. Now... I'll surely use latest CWM or TWRP to flash CM 10.1 but later... when I flash the stock recovery (v3e, i think the latest for our device) just to lock down my device- is there any possibility that my system would get messed up? As the latest stock recovery for Nexus S was released with 4.1.2 it isn't supposed to be compatible with 4.2.2 roms technically.
..enlighten me please! with my little knowledge, i'm unable to work it out in my head

[Q] I have a problem when I compile the ClockWorkMod 6 to a NEW DEVICE!

My device is Samsung GT-i9050. This device has no ClockWorkMod or CyanogenMod. So I want to port one to this phone. But I have some questions on it.
I have search for the similar device which is Samsung GT-i9100G, and I have downloaded the CyanogenMod configure from Github, but it has some differences.
1) The latest Samsung official kernel of my device is 2.6.35, but the CM kernel version of i9100g is 3.1. There is no support for the board of my device i9050 in CM kernel of i9100g. If I compile the kernel by using the configure of i9100g, my device will hung off when it boots the kernel, and I can't enter CWM.
2) So I want to compile the official kernel. But when I compile it with the initramfs of CWM. I can't see the complete UI of CWM, I can only see the outline of CWM's icon ! Like this.
I don't know how to solve this problem. Waiting for your reply

[Q] Aero Kernel on other custom ROMs

Hi
Since the CM version of Aero isn't available as a single zip, I was wondering whether somebody is using Aero Kernel from Quarx's CM11 on other AOSP custom ROMs.
Do I just need to take the boot.img or do I need other files, too? For example Phantom Kernel also has Wifi files included
Edit:
Ok, I extracted the boot.img and flashed it using Flashify, but Wifi didn't work. So there is indeed something missing

[flash new kernel - hlte] Trying to flash a newly compiled kernel

Hello, thanks in advance for your future help.
I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 3 hlte and I was looking to build and flash a official kernel (from opensource.samsung.com) on my device.
So I built the kernel with no error and it is resulting of course with a zImage, next step was to flash on my device so I re-created a new boot.img (by extracting my current ramdisk etc and using it with my fresh kernel) (thanks to abootimg).
But I can't go in "normal boot" with that new boot image, I have to reflash my old boot.img if I want to use my phone.
So I suppose I don't understand something, do you guys have some idea of what I'am not doing good ? I Just want to be able to use the kernel I compiled before.
Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks.

Dualbooting custom ROM on Samsung Galaxy s6

Hi,
I recently rooted my Samsung Galaxy s6 g920f using TWRP and Magisk v14.0. While working perfectly, I decided to dual boot a custom rom with my stock one, using dual boot patcher. However not only can't I patch the kernel for my custom Lineage os 15 Oreo s6 rom I found:
mega.nz/#F!omZF1IQJ!2bk4dxzyW8ZwluqgrH945g!p3pCyaxI (please put https:// infront of the link to make it work as I am not allowed to post urls yet as i am new)
using dual boot patcher, but I also can't install anything using the flasher. This isn't too big of an issue as I can just flash it in twrp, but as said before, I can't patch the IMG kernel and if i download it as a .zip and patch it, when I go to install it redirects me to another file I don't want to install. I have a nandroid backup, which I have downloaded to my PC. The only reason why I want to dual boot my s6 is so I can still use the gear VR, which is great fun! Please help as I can't figure it out
Thank you
