You can't use Odin for nexus one, cuz it's just for Samsung phones.

I know that, lol.. I've got a Nexus S waiting for me when I get back to the U.S. Just trying to understand this stuff before I get back and root it.

Attached file includes a guide to flash bootloader using Odin.
I have a radio problem with my Nexus S I9020T and I hope someone can help.
I installed Cyanmodgen 7 and after a couple of days I suddenly lost all cellular reception on the phone (data and voice). The phone identifies my SIM card handler, but it just can't find any available networks.
I went ahead and reinstalled I9020XXJK1- GRH78 firmware using Odin, but I still can't get any network connection.
After installing the new firmware, my phone now shows "CARRIER INFO - EUR" when I go into bootloader mode. The thing is, my Nexus S i9020T is a T-mobile version bought at best buy in New York.
Can anybody tell me if there are any negative effects if the carrier info shows EUR on a US phone?
Thanks!
Why are you gents even flashing with Odin, when you're much safer doing it with the Android SDK and fastboot?

will CM7 block Motorola Triumph OTA

hello, I'm considering putting CM 7 on wifes phone. MY does not have an "update"package which would receive an OTA. Will a custom ROM inhibit this rather remote possibility. I think if this phone ever gets an update it will be via a computer update program and not OTA.

Yes it will block ota's. It will never have 2.3 unless you put cm-7 on there it seems.

The CM 7 vs Stock ROM for activation.
The CM 7 ROMS do not do activation/ provisioning right? One has to go to Stock to do that?.
Thanks

You are correct. That's a good reason to always have a stock ROM (or backup) at least on standby if necessary.
I find stock ROM easy to backup and restore, the problem for me is the recovery. I'd like to be able to backup my recovery and make a flash able zip.just don't know how to.

You mean, the recovery you boot into? There should be no reason for you to change it very much.. Although didn't b_randon14 manage it? I don't think it's possible, as up until this point I've never seen a flashable Recovery.
I recommend miui for MT. It works really well. And lasts me about all day. I'm using the 10/28 update

Guys i needto know how to restore my infuse 4g to stock rom with out odin. I was sejt a.new infuse 4g by att because mine stopped charging and its usb port just gave out. So theres no way to odin
I am no pro, but I don't believe you'll be able to do it without usb. Maybe you could flash a stock rom(if you can find one) but you will still be rooted.
And to unroot , I think you need USB.

I don't have the time to look for this for you but you can probably find a program that would let you virtually tether to your computer.. making it act like it's connected.... No guarantees though
The only way I can think of is to flash a stock rom. But there isn't one made for cwm?. So I really don't know.

Just borke it. Non bootable flash a rom before it finishes pull the battery. That would be my solution. Lol.

[Q] Newb Needing Help Unrooting *Not One-Click*

Noob here,
I am wanting to unroot by samsung galaxy i897 on rogers network in Canada. I just rooted it using the superoneclick method. Now whenever I try to enable my wifi the phone keeps rebooting till I pull the battery and restart. I have decided that I am too stupid to have a rooted phone and am looking for a simple way to unroot my phone and restore it back to the standard gingerbread 2.3 it was running on before. I have tried the super one click unroot method, following the guide on this forum and it hasn't worked.
Thanks
simplest method is to flash to stock firmware
Hit me on the thanks button if you find it useful ; )

Another Noob Question
And how would I go about doing that?
You can use ODIN to flash to stock rom
Sent from my Galaxy Tab using xda premium
Ok, so I tried using odin to get back to the stock rogers rom using the roms posted on the following thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=979133
But even though odin says it was successful, the firmware is still AT&T. Any ideas why?
Did you try to wipe dalvik cache, wipe data before flashing to stock rom

Found a thread will the proper rogers firmware. All seems to be working well now. I think I was just just using incorrect at&t firmware. Thanks for the help.

Is it better to forego the T-Mobile KitKat OTA?

Hey guys I just got a T-Mobile G2 and have a few questions if you don't mind.
I've been reading through the forums and I see that root and such is still not available for the official KitKat update. So my question is, is it better to not install the KitKat update and just go ahead and root and install TWRP onto my device? Or is it wiser to just install the KitKat update and wait for root? Does the new KitKat update provide a new radio or bootloader that I will eventually need?
I'm looking to install CM11, so just wondering what the best route is. Thanks for any help provided!

If you root and install recovery, you can flash the new radio. The KitKat update does come with the new radio. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

If you flash the new radio you lose rotation on other roms. If you wanna flash cm11 do not take the update, you'll have to manually downgrade to get recovery.
