Eh, doesnt matter to me i snatched up my sammmy before this crazyness lol!! I hope the judge gets a hands on opinion with new samsung devices and then he/she can tell for themselves how different they are. I don't hate apple but this lowballing technique really doesnt help their image. Maybe they should create a phone that can actually compete with new android devices like the Evo 3d, now thats competition! In America "Competition means good business."

At&t is supposed to be getting it. But it doesnt look like there is any s2 branded for tmobile, or at least that supports tmobile AWS bands. You can order one unlocked and put your tmboile sim in it, but it will only work for voice and 2g/edge data. Even with that limitation...ive been thinking of buying one anyways, or the single core at&t infuse 4g and just unlock it and put my sim in it and live with the 2G data. Dont think i have the balls to live with 2g tho.
On another note, im guessing Tmobile USA isnt getting it because of the Hercules thats supposed to be released in September which is supposed the be like the s2 on steroids. lol.
I need to buy something new. The fact there are much more powerful phones out there even though i love my gs4g...is killing me softly...lol

Don't think anyone knows but i hope they get it.

Don't know either but my fingers are crossed. My guess is that aosp is a little too "open" for Verizon's likes.

Currently I don't care for an pure google phone becuase i'd probably root it and installed CM7. But it would be nice to get one.

They bent over backwards for Apple because they have been kicking themselves since they passed on the iPhone the first time. They saw the chance to steal a big amount of AT&T iPhone users and jumped. Now if they actually stole a lot of AT&T iPhone users is a different matter. I don't think they stole that many so far. I think when the next iPhone comes out, they will see a big influx.

What do you mean? Google phones are MADE for rooting and flashing custom ROMs.... and in fact the Nexus 1 and Nexus S both have CM7.

I said what I said because Verizon changed their closed ways for a iphone... Not sure why they wouldn't do it for an Android phone. The nexus phones are sellers as well and if they really want to take away users from all carriers (not just at&t) they need to have one in their line up.
They will be able to take advantage of having the fastest network (while they still can) with a 4G nexus phone.
Talk about killing it! They would rape the competition having an iPhone and a 4G nexus phone.
The time is now if they are smart.

xoom was only stock because they didnt have time to mess it up, not because moto was trying to be ambivalent. They wanted to rush it out before the ipad2.

Why. I had a nexus one running cm7 and now I have a Tbolt running cm7. Yes there's a lot of development support for the device but im happy with the tbolt.

Eh... I think we are aware of that. The point is, ATT is busy porting GB over to the new phones where new sales are. But there's no or less money in doing so for the existing phones aside from new Infuse sales.

AT&T doesn't do the porting - Samsung does and AT&T delays the updates.
It was barely acceptable to release a Froyo phone when the Infuse was released - a Froyo-on-release phone would be dead in the market now.

What do you think would be the motivation for AT&T to delay the updates; especially for their just-released SGS2? The only thing I can think of is needing to beef up support needs. But then again, versus the lost sales.
I had just finally convinced a buddy to go with the Android o/s and especially the Infuse or the SGS2. Then he came around citing his research that both phones are really behind the curve and that he minimally wants a GB phone now.

I've been waiting to get ROM-happy until the official GB releases, but this is killing me! I feel as trapped as when I had an iPhone! Let me out of this cage AT&T, and give me my dessert with some GB!

Was out looking at tabs today.. they all suck.. my sr screen looks better and does the same thing..so..
The Samsung Note will be awesome .. no doubt.. heard it will be coming to ATT&T.. but I might just get the unlocked version instead.

I'm with you on that. I can't wait for an LTE version of the Note to come to AT&T. However, I'm curious to see if people will be able to do much ROM work on this tab due to the specialized software that it's running. Other than rooting the phone and getting superuser access to it, I'm not sure you can mess with a lot of it's functions without losing a lot of it's digitizer functions.

Me too.. I would sacrifice LTE for all the goodies this phone is packing.
One thing to ponder.. Snapdragon only supports LTE..... according to Att&T..

Looks more and more like US version will be similar to the LTE version in Korea with the Snapdragon processor. Considering that the Nexus starts at $299 with contract, I won't be surprised if this one starts at the same price or even at $349.

My guy has been dead on with release dates (for those that haven't followed me on android forums).one of the guys up there has a testing unit now actually.
Unlike previous devices they won't let me play with that one tho

So am i to understand that the NOTE will NOT have the Exynos Proccesor and instead the snap dragon when it comes to the US. BUT if i buy it from the UK it will come with the 1.4 exynos dual core??

If it comes to Att&T and uses LTE it will have the Snapdragon.. unless the change something before then.. I doubt it..

GS3 ROM for SGS2 Skyrocket?

Not sure if anyone has brought this up but I would be interested in seeing a full port of the GS3 TO THE SKYROCKET! I don't know of any deb's working on this but it would be phenomenal! I being kinda new would be more than willing to test and or assist I am getting pretty familiar with how to customize stuff bUT being taught

Um... accidently hit submit but in being taught I think I could help! Also I have been thinking of buying a GS3 but in looking at the specs all that seems different is a slightly larger higher Res screen an s4 processor and correct me of I am wrong but 2gigs of memory? Doesn't seem like enough to jump ship!

The latest SkyICS rom takes many parts of the GS3 including the new Touchwiz, S-Voice, and the 50GB Dropbox bonus. As mentioned, others are working on it as well.

So just curious any of you feel jumping to a GS3 is worth it?

And I agree completely that we can run whatever it can, because it is still just going to be a dual core processor too lol its really kinda sad how little they added to it...when the note gets ics its going to have better specs and the gs3 is just going to have more ram lol

I was practically trying to sell my kidney to get one, but after staring at it for a while I'm really not that interested anymore. Will be first in line for next nexus phone. And I'm absolutely grabbing that nexus tablet end of this month if it's not just a rumor. I hate waiting but come september supposing apple is on time with its new lineup, I'll be getting a free iPhone 4, 4s, and iPad from my family who is upgrading so I'll have plenty to sell/trade then.

Steady trollin'

Not trolling, i had s2 for 2 yrs it's the slowest phone ever made kept crashing and the new s3 isn't any different android needs alot of work custom roms doesnt fix half the problems u cant fix something that's meant to be broken..

I have a question.... Why are you on this forum exactly? You are using an iPhone to post to XDA, you're signature gave you away. If you look closely, this is technically an Android forum where we are currently discussing importing one ROM to another phone it has nothing to do with an iPhone whatsoever. Wait I thought you couldn't add custom roms to iPhones? Oh wait, you can't! Look man, even if you have multiple phones, apple or Android, you don't have to come on here and talk crap.
