Hi guys, recently, I don't get to use WiFi, the WiFi does not show up in the home screen, under communication manager, the WiFi is turned on, and the phone WiFi LED light is also turned on, but I don't get WiFi.
When I go to WiFi settings, I don't get to see the WiFi networks, what can I do to fix this ?
i have this problem too, and for a long time, since i first flashed my phone to WM6 to be exact. that's why i requested andot to fix the WWE version. no one seemed to take it seriously.
I accessed Celetask immediately after I bootup with this problem, I see a process called wifioff.exe , I have a strong feeling that this process is triggered at the wrong time, I can't delete it as it is a part of the ROM
Alright, I found this key
HKLM/Init
There is a string called Launch35 - Wifioff.exe
Could it be that the wrong launching sequences of programs causes the wifi module not to be loaded? Or the lack of memory or space causes the module loading to be skipped or sort?
Cause I remembered that I get this problem the day I reached critical point in my memory storage
Ok, got a breakthrough
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\State\Hardware
Under Wifi - change from zero to one, at least I can show Wifi in the home screen, I also see the option to turn on loudspeaker as well, something useful we got here
But still Wifi module is not loaded, cant use wifi, and after reboot, the wifi thing is gone from home screen
Yes WiFi has stopped working ever since i upgraded to WM6. The WiFi lights blink and it is not able to detect any network open or secured. Secondly, I can't even see the setting to chnage or add a WiFi APN anywhere? am I missing something??
Secondly under Assceroies, I do not underastand WANIP Manager, what is the use of it and what should be configured? Option I see is
- Profile DHCP
- Options>Select Device> BTPAN1/RNDISFN1/TIACXWLAN1/WWAN1

I just found out this key simply shows the WiFi on the home screen, does not matter whether its turned on or not.
I've experienced this problem yesterday after ...uninstalling Windows Live Messenger!!! I use WM6 for quite a while and I've never "lost" the wifi!
After trying almost everything, the only solution was a hard reset! Luckily, I do a full backup (Sprite Backup) after any software installation/uninstallation and I fully reverted my phone to its previous state.
Uninstalling Windows Live again caused no error at all!
same problem in WM5!
Surprising to see that there is a problem like this for a few of you...
Whats more surprising is that I have the same problem in WM5! I had no problems with wifi and bluetooth earlier, but all of a sudden, I cannot enter into the CommManager where the bluetooth and wifi need to be turned on.
When i goto the menu, it simply hangs. Sometimes i'm able to recover to the home screen.
This has happened after i put the a2dp patch. Any solutions to the problem?
And is sprite backup a free software? is there any free alternative?
I got this problem since my main main memory reached low and I got the warning message, after that, despite managing to recover back those main memory storage space, its gone

Hey karhoe! Thanx for the tip. I saw that my free space was just .5 mb in the phone memory. Deleted some old files and saw that is works fine again after reboot.
Thanx anyway...
Ok, did it twice and I think I figured out the reason.
I uninstalled WLM to install the latest version, after I uninstall it, it prompts me to restart my phone in which I did, just to realize that the WiFI thing is gone after I uninstall.
So there are 2 reasons identified for the WiFi problem
1) Low main memory space
2) Uninstall WLM

I think there must be other reasons.
I'm experiencing the same problem, but have never installed WLM and I have about 9mb of space left on my phone.
I also have had this issue. I have found that if I turn on the WiFi then reset the phone then the wifi usually works. Also can tell very quickly when the wifi messes up as the wifi indicator on the home screen is not present.
WiFi Issue, My experience.
Friends, I had a similiar situation after I flashed my SP5 with WM6 a few days back. I had good qty of memory remaining, never uninstalled WLM. After all installations were over, I configured WiFi thru Connection Manager-WLAN Settings-WiFi-New... I entered My SSID, password and other details, which I am sure, were correct. But WiFi did not work. When I try to connect, the phone says 'connecting..' but the WiFi LED on my modem would come ON for a second or two and go OFF. The next thing I did was, deleting the SSID from the phone and just switching WiFi ON. this time the the screen- 'New WiFi Networks Found' came in view. From there, I selected my SSID (my nieghbours' Network also were shown) and pressed the soft key 'connect'. Then it asked the Password and connected with no delay. I tried surfing by IE. Also tried Map24 (WM5 Version) which requires net connection. I am 100% satis. Hope this helps at least a few. It really is a wonderful ROM!
Cheers,
Jole.
Wifi on SPV C600 ?
My Orange SPV C600 has no wifi. Is it a genuine Tornado ?
Yes, but without wifi feature
I'm having a problem that I can't seem to find a solution to anywhere.
I have an HTC Aria running 2.2 (I didn't do the OTA update. I flashed it myself) which is giving me connection problems if both WiFi and 3G are active at the same time. It only started happening after I updated from 2.1 to 2.2.
WiFi off, 3G on: I can use the web browser and all my apps that require internet access without a problem
WiFi on (and connected), 3G off (Airplane Mode) Same thing. No problems.
WiFi on (and Connected), 3G on: All of a sudden, I can only access the internet from certain apps. The Facebook app works fine as does the HTC Weather widget and shopkick. However, the web browser just hangs without loading pages, xkcdViewer throws me an error saying it can't connect to the server and the TD Bank app doesn't load.
I've been playing around with different settings and nothing seems to work. I found a temporary solution by going to Wireless & networks > Mobile networks > Access Point Names and resetting those to default, though that only lasted for about 10 minutes before the problem started again.
Also, when I was running on 2.1 the Market would always force the use of my 3G connection even if I was connected to a WiFi network. The only way to bypass this would be to put the phone into Airplane Mode and then turn WiFi back on. Now, on 2.2, the Market forces 3G, but only for a couple of seconds then switches back to WiFi, but I've noticed that sometimes the 3G connection remains active even after closing the Market.
Any suggestions? Was it just a bad flash of the ROM?
I seem to have fixed it.
I turned off my phone, removed the SIM card and booted it up. I connected to my WiFi and used the phone normally for a couple minutes. Then I turned it off again, replaced the SIM card and rebooted.
It seems to be working fine now. Hopefully it stays that way.

Bought a brand new unlocked Moto Defy and I'm having some WiFi and data connection issues...
To start things off, I cannot get any kind of data on this phone. I'm able to make/receive calls and texts with no problem but when it comes to accessing data, it's a total fail. I've added APN's for ATT (ATT MMS, ATT PHONE, AT&T PTA), switched the 2G/3G/auto under Mobile Network Settings, and I just can't seem to get data working. I get data just fine on my At&t Samsung Focus with WP7.
Secondly, I cannot connect to my WiFi router. I've reset the router numerous times, disabled WPA security, tried different security methods, and it just doesn't want to connect. The network occasionally shows up with great signal strength but soon after disappears. I went to the same room as the router and it shows up. When I tap on it to connect, it shows "connecting" and then "disconnected". I also get a WiFi symbol in the upper left hand corner with a question mark over it.
And to top things off, I can't seem to format my WP7 memory card so I can't even install any apk's or ROMs. For some reason, the 2GB card that supposed to come with this phone wasn't even in the box!
Any ideas? Starting to get frustrated, this is my first android phone (3rd android device, first 2 were tablets) so I'm eager to mess with this thing.
Uploading a short video showing the WiFi problem.
Thank you so much!
Also, running 2.2.2

So I've installed Cyanogenmod 7 and was able to get to the band settings but when I select USA Band, it says "Set [USA Band] Unsuccessful.
I found a working bp_nvm_default folder for ATT, replaced original with that, set permissions, and nothing has changed.
I am at a loss of what to do now. And after installing CM7, I have no signal what so ever.
Please!!!! Any ideas?!?!?
I’m currently using AOKP Jellybean 4.1.2, the supposedly stable, reliable milestone version found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1804223
I'll try to be as thorough as possible in hopes that someone will respond and know what to do. I apologize in advance for being long-winded.
I didn’t have any issues last night when I first flashed the rom. I was able to watch youtube videos using the mobile data. I was also able to turn on wifi to sync some files from my dropbox to my phone, and then turn off the wifi with no issues. However, today after connecting to a wifi network to download a few things and browse the web, I disconnected from the wireless network and the mobile data curiously did not start up again. I DO have cellular service (3-4 bars), and I can make phone calls and check my voicemail by pressing and holding 1 on the keypad, but my mobile data doesn’t work. I looked around for some solutions, and I've since restarted my device several times, tried toggling airplane mode on and off, and did several combinations of reboots with airplane on/off and no dice.
Everytime I use the toggle in the notificaton bar area to turn off wifi, my internet connection goes with it. It says “no internet connection” in the notification background at the bottom of the screen. Once I turn wifi on, I get my internet back and it says “at&t” at the bottom, but I don’t actually get mobile data because apps like “At&t Visual Voicemail” which require mobile data to function don’t work.
I tried flashing the 1.85 radio to see if it would connect to mobile data, and same issue persisted after reboot and dalvik/cache clean. After that failed, I flashed the 2.20 radio + RIL zip files seperately (which is what I understand came with the rom), and still no dice.
For reference, my HTC One X was rooted with 1.73 firmware (I never tried to update it until last night). I did the CID spoof method to unlock my bootloader, and installed the newest version of TWRP on it. I flashed the rom and the gapps package. I used TiBu to restore program settings and a handful of my out of market apps, and the rest of my purchased apps downloaded automatically from the market after connecting with my google account. I had literally just finished reinstalling the last of my apps today via wifi when this issue started to happen.
I'd really prefer a practical method of getting this fixed that doesn't involve starting over with a fresh rom install. Reflashing at this point would be something of a nuisance since I don’t have much free time to begin with. And hey, it took a long time to load up all of my apps just right
However, if there is no other fix that anyone is aware of, I guess I could reflash or in the worst case try a different rom. It’s a shame because the rom otherwise is really smooth and runs great on the phone, in addition to not using a whole lot of resources and having a decent battery life.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions and solutions.
Here is an image of my battery drain screen showing what my mobile data is supposedly doing despite not being able to get a true data connection. Even with my wifi off, there is supposedly medium mobile signal.
And attached is another image of what happens when I turn my wifi off. I pulled the notification pane down and you can see that it says "no internet connection" at the bottom. Also, you can't really see it in that cap, but the mobile data bars behind the notification area are colored white, and there isn't any "H+", "4G", or "LTE" notifiers visible.
Edit: Attached a third image showing the "white" signal bars (i.e. no data connection). Yes, my mobile data is turned on, and I'm obviously not in airplane mode.
I figured it out eventually for anyone interested... Apparently the APN were not set. They existed on the APN list but were not visible due to a glitch in the ROM I guess. I had to add a custom APN and then the other ones suddenly appeared.
Thanks anyway.

Help please! I was just browsing the Web (yahoo news, nothing virus -laden), and backing some files up to Google Drive, and suddenly there was no data. The LTE icon is still there in the status bar, and even the animated part of that icon is there, and it's animated, but no downloading....
Important note: a couple hours earlier, I spilled coffee on the phone, I quickly turned it off,and wiped it dry, but not being able to take the battery out, I turned it back on a little while later (about 10 minutes ). then I used it for about 2 hours doing the activities I mentioned above and there were no apparent effects from the coffee spill. and there still aren't any differences in how the phone operates except for the fact that the data won't work. I can make phone calls. I can get on the internet with wifi. And the status of my network when I go into the settings and such tells me I'm connected via LTE to the Sprint network, and tells me my signal strength and all that. So I'm thinking I'm about to restore from a recovery, or just go on to install version 3 of this ROM (which is SAC's ROM). but before I do that I was wondering if anybody had any thoughts on this and weather and they had inclination to believe that the coffee has something to do with this or if it's more likely that it has something to do with software, as in: it can be fixed by flashing again, either the same ROM or the next version of it (v3).

Could be either. I would try toggling the data using airplane mode, make a backup then refresh the ROM, and if neither of those work. I would just Odin the firmware over again
