Hello everyone
I just installed the IceColdSandwich 6.1 ROM with ICS and Android 4.0. But now I can't install the Facebook app from the market. And I was trying to restore it with the Titanium Backup app but it says after every 2 seconds that the app doesn't answer anymore. So is there a way to install the Facebook app? Oh and I can't install the Dolphin Browser either :S

Some of apps installed in my galaxy s dont show up in market download list and it wont update the apps? any suggestions on how to make the apps appear in download list and auto upgrades itself? thanks in advance. sorry if this has been asked before. this is my 1st forums posting ever.

Did you install it from the SD-card? Then they won't show up in the android market.

Yeah i do install from the SD-card. but is there a hack for it to show up in my download list ? because i bought beejive a week back.. later i had to backup my phone for some rom flashing now i installed everything but beejive and few other apps dont show it in my download list for updates. when i try to update beejive it takes me too buy a new one :| please help.
I don't know how to solve it. Try to contact the developer of the app. Maybe he can solve it.

all apps thats i downloaded from market gone from the the downloaded apps list ????
U can go to the app list from your phones settings click on market then click force stop then clear data go back in market and your apps should b there

My old phone was Nokia N73 & Nokia C2. I wanted to transfer all the contacts from Nokia N73, C2 to Galaxy Note.
I searched market but did not find any app that transfer contacts over bluetooth.
than i searched google & found that only HTC developers made an app to transfer contacts via bluetooth.
Than i download one stock ROM of HTC desire & extract this apk. But this app was not installing on Galaxy note. Every time i was receiving error - "Application not Installed". Maybe installation is failed because this app is from htc.
So with many hit & trail method I made it working with any android phone.
i thought its a great app so i want to share with you guys.
with this app you can transfer contacts, calender & SMS

instead make a backup of contacts n transfer the .vcf file to android device and restore it.

Is there a way to install a system app like messaging or contacts app from stock htc explorer rom to cyanamod 7 or 9????I love the stock messaging app while cyanamod messaging app sucks.one thing more when I copy a system app from stock rom using root explorer to sd-card and then try to install it on cyanamod 7 or 9 the app doesn't install and at the end it says 'application not installed' which other user apps do install....

It might not be possible. HTC apps require HTC framework. Its only present in HTC roms, so i dont think u can have it in CM.

are you sure about this? It would be quite a dissapointment for me
Stock ROM for Explorer is Gingerbread. CM9 is Ice Cream Sandwich.
It won't work with CM7 anyway, it needs com.htc.resources to work.
If you hate the Messaging app that much, try picking up an alternate messaging app from Play.
Well its not just the messaging app but many others as well.seems like I have to stick to the stock rom

well I want the messaging app,fm radio app,people named app for contacts identical to that of stock rom.I don't think there are any apps similar to those ones.it would be a big favour if you do succeed in finding them
Actually I don't hate cyanamod apps as muvh but the thing is that the stock htc apps are suited to me with great display ,features and is suited to me.I want the mail app as well.stock htc apps are really owesome and according to my needs

I have used both messaging apps and both are really buggy.when I send nearly 60-70 messaging in a time interval of 5 minutes the app says 'a lot of messages are sent so do you want to send messages' (a message like this) and I have to press ok for each message being sent and if you don"t message won't be sent.this is a bud .moreover while message is being sent and if you go through your conversation then at the instant at which message is sent the conversation drops to last message and you have to scroll back.These are serious bugs for me and I have used these apps .with stock app no such bug ,I have observed this million times

Apps from GB may / may not work with ICS.
The apps that you extract from system are not installable ones.
If you want to try xyz.apk, copy and make a backup of one you are going to replace. Remove current xyz.apk from /system/app and replace it with the one you have taken from stock or any rom.
Remember to set the permission as "
x x
x
x "
Restart your phone.. if it has to work it will appear in your app drawer.
Use root explorer.. mount R/W to copy and paste. Many apps require lib files too.. so you need to know which app requires which library file. If you replace an apk.. you will have to replace related lib files too!!

i have using gingerbread stock previously....i backed up device setting by titanium backup.....
can i restore my all device settings/data?
or atleast my contacts and messages....

no..always use export/import option for contacts backup..for messages, use sms backup app.

Answer to your question is no and yes.. You wont be able to restore your device settings but you will be able to restore the android app data into the new ROM..
Contacts and messages you can use a 3rd party app from the playstore.. If it is possible can you search a bit before posting or post in the help threads instead of posting and creating new threads for each of your queries ?
