[Q] ics OC with the latest update ww 9.2.1.17 stock everything just rooted - Eee Pad Transformer Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi everyone, this is my second post, i know there is a wide quantity of post talking about the same but if someone could light a candle in my path i would apreciate it very much.
My question is, I've rooted my tf101 when it was in the ics rom the 9.2.1.11 then i used ota rootkeeper(the name was something like that) and now I'm running the 9.2.1.17 everything stock including the kernel and the recovery, so is there a way to achieve overclock in my current status or what do I need to do to get overclock, I'm open to everything changing roms, kernels or anything, I know a bit more than the average noob but if you could explain to me in a simple way

Extra info: I'm using a WW version of the transformer

Can't overclock yet. Wait until someone makes a modified kernel. Should be soon since Asus released the source.

Blades has one available now
Or flash team eos latest build that also contains oc kernel

[Q] Install Costom ROM+Kernel

Hi all,
Well, i want to install a costom ROM+Kenel in my Transformer.
I currently have Honeycomb 3.2.1 and Kernel 2.6.36.1.
Anyone knows what might be the best ROM+Kernel? I've seen Prime V.2.05 and Netformer.
Just to be sure i don't something stupid: first i need to install CWM, then install ROM and kernel, right?
Thank you!

Actually first you need to find out if your TF is even rootable.
If rootable than yes root, install CWM than flash ROM + kernel

me too. i have tried every rom, but went back to revolver.
I didn't know this tablets could run custom roms
Perfect Question! I have owned my TF for less than a week. Figured out how to root and install CWM thanks to some nice detailed posts. I am currently running PRIME 2.0.5 with Clemsyns 22 OC kernel at 1424 max.
Why I chose PRIME? I saw a Youtube video on it. So I have read and read multiple threads on ROMs here. Looks like the choice of three. So far this is very stable and seems fast. I have had no fc's or issues like that.
I am interested as well as which ROM people prefer and why? I know a lot comes down to personal preference. I'm looking for stability, speed, compatibility, updates.

Thank you all for your replies!
Yesterday I finally decided to go with Prime 1.6 and netformer OC 1.6ghz.
Well, one thing is sure, it's clearly faster now...
Now I get 6000+ on antutu benchmark!
Wow, you're lucky you have one that can go that high. Some tf cannot be OC to 1.6. Mine, for example, can only be OC to 1.4 before it freezes and crash.

Q: is there a kernal that I can use with the stock ics to o/c?

I'm running the latest stock rooted firmware from Asus and have been trying to find a o/c able kernel that works well with the latest ics rom. Anyone know of one? Or how I can change the current kernel to allow to o/c?

please search before you post. this has been asked multiple times. Asus has not released the kernel source so there are no custom kernels

Not able to overclock rooted Tf101 with ANY kernel

Im extremely frustrated...Ive been trying to OC my Tf101 for days now w/ no success. Ive tried several ROMs + kernel(s) and now Ive tried FROZN 1.0.9 because I heard they do GREAT work and the ROM is supposed to include a Guevor Kernel allowing OC, I think to 1.7.
I rooted w/ ViperMOD Prime (latest ver)
I installed CWM (5.5.0.4 I think, latest ver)
I flashed:
[ROM] FROZN 1.0.9 █Apr. 2 2012█ 9.2.2.3 █ ICS for TF █Super-Optimized█ Guevor Kernel
...but when I use the included NoFrills CPU app it will only allow me to clock to 1.000?
What am I possibly missing or not understanding? Is the a Tf101 that is simply NOT capable of OC?
ANY ideas would greatly be appreciated...I am sooo anxious to OC because everyone seems to be doing so with great success.
Thanks all.

The kernel included with frozn only goes to 1.2ghz and the default clock is 1ghz
Ics testy meh sio init.d kernel goes to 1.6 i would try that one

ok mate...that one sounds a bit better to me for the final number, however I cant get mine to clock past 1.000 at all. Ive tried ROMs + kernel(s) and Ive tried ROMs w/ kernel included, install goes fine but when I try to OC w/ CPU app, it only goes to 1.000.
I thought I was reading someone else w/ this problem and the issue revolved around a botched recovery flash or something?...but I cant seem to find that thread again. I did try to unsuccessfully flash back to stock ASUS recovery a while back, didnt work (CWM was still present afterwards). Wonder if that is creating an issue of some kind?...although I am struggling to imagine what one would have to do w/ the other.
Thanks for the reply mate...Im willing t listen to ANY ideas at this point!
"The kernel included with frozn only goes to 1.2ghz and the default clock is 1ghz"
BTW...wanted to check on the FROZN OC kernel abilities...the latest FROZN ver sets CPU default at 1.2 and allows OC to 1.7. But anyhow, only allowed me 1.000 default and no OC.
Yeah I'm on frozen oc'd at 1.4. Your issue is weird I've never heard of that before. What happens if you select anything higher than 1.0, do you get an error or anything?
Sent from my Transformer TF101 using Tapatalk
I dont even get the option to go higher than 1.000.
UPDATE: apparently this inability to OC the kernel in any way is happening to those of us experiencing the CWM bootloop issue...so since the loader goes immediately to CWM it never runs the flashed kernel.
So in these forums is a thread to fix the CWM bootloop and if you follow the instructions carefully, you fix the bootloop and thus allowing the flashed kernels a chance to actually install. I chose the Roach method which you can install the code using Terminal Emulator pretty intuitively. I didnt choose the other method because I didnt want to mess w/ setting up an ADB terminal on my PC, which seemed MUCH more difficult.
So...now FINALLY
ViperMOD Prime rooted
ClockworkMOD Touch Recovery 5.8.8
FROZN 1.0.9 ROM (w/ built-in Guevor kernel @ 1.2 default) and am OCd @ 1.54 (np's at all so far, lightning fast, havent even tried 1.6 or 1.7).
Only issue so far is File Manager app crashes on startup...which isnt good because now the other file manager app I tried doesnt see my ext_SDcard...the stock File Manager did.

Overclock up to 1.6 - 1.7ghz
I just share with u how i overclock my tf101 upto 1.7ghz with stock rom....ALL ASUS APPS IS WORKING
- i root my device with ViperMod prime v5.4 (choose option 1)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1427125
- then, install rom manager from android market (to flash clockworkmod recovery). i am using standard recovery, not the touch recovery...u all can try if u want.for me its doesn't matter.
http://www.clockworkmod.com/rommanager
-lastly, i flash the kernel 9b(by using clockworkmod recovery)...u can get the latest kernel from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1565519
- currently, i can overclock my tf101 up to 1.7ghz with beloved stock rom..
- antutu benchmark 76++....
hopefully its helpful......enjoy your enthusiant tf101 speed...
I cant talk from experience, but Ive read at several places that ROM manager is NOT recommended to use.
How, when or why I do not know. Theres another app thats recommended for the TF, simply called "recovery installer". Its listed in the epic noob guide.
As I said, Ive only read that rommanager isnt recommended for the tf.

Tf300tl Roms and cwm?

I search a custom Rom for my tf300tl. But i don't an Rom or cwm toturial. Every thing i found is for the tf300t. Can anyone help me?
Sorry for my bat english.

i second this
The TF300T ROM's are the same except for the 3G/4G NIC. You could use those, but you will loose the 4G functionality unless you can find the driver. [which I haven't]
for my tf300tg I use Cleanrom 2.7.2 with Unters TF300T(G)(L) 10.4.4.20 Kernel and everything works, 3g included - it could work also for TL (as the kernel name says) but afaik nobody tried till now, as there are so few TL around.
so if you want to risk it (no guarantee of course), unlock it, install twrp then cleanrom 2.7 with stock tf300 kernel, apply 2.7.2 patch and then the kernel package where you'll chose TF300T(G)(L) 10.4.4.20 Kernel.

[Q] Overclocking TF101 with Stock Kernel&Rom

I have a TF101 with stock kernel/rom, with ICS 4.0.3, kernel 2.6.39.4 and compilation 9.2.1.27. I want to overclock the tablet, it it already rooted. How Do I do it? Thanks

Sorry to disappoint you, but you can't. You could overclock with a different kernel on the stock ROM, but if you want to stick with all stock, you're stuck at a stock levels. (Try saying that five times fast!)
--EDIT--
Sorry, I think I misread your post. Here are the instructions for overclocking from a stock install:
1. Flash a recovery. I use TWRP, but ClockworkMod is another common one.
2. Download and flash a kernel. Most ROMs come with their own, and almost all are overclockable. If you want to keep the stock OS, just look for a thread thats says [KERNEL][OC] or something along those lines in the development section.
3. Download SetCPU, NSTools, or something similar from the market. Then adjust to your liking.
4. Enjoy your overclock!

I would recommend using a kernel that is made for overclocking (I believe megatron's kernel is a good one) plus something like SetCPU.
Happy overclocking!
