Help with hboot 1.23.0000 - HTC Sensation

hello guys i was trying to root my friends sensation...but i messed up halfway....i s-offed using revolutionary.....but i flashed a wrong pg58img as a recovery....and now my phone shows
LOCKED
Pyramid.....s-off
hboot 1.23.0000
and so on
so guys i want to know is there any way that i can still root the phone and run custom recovery and roms????
Please help
Thanks

Root by flashing the latest superuser binary from androidsu using recovery.
If you don't yet have recovery, flash that first (either clockwork or ext4) using pmg58.img in bootloader.
Then flash desired rom. The ***locked*** just means you can't use advanced fast boot commands.

HBOOT 1.23.0000 S-off
Hi Guys, Have you found any solution concerning the hboot 1.23.0000? i am stuck with it with S-off ...
i've tried to flash the latest version of super user and still the same, the PG58IMG.zip fail to update ...

- instal stock rom with unsecured Boot.img http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1201697&highlight=real+stock+experience / recovery /
- flash boot.img from stock rom
Put boot.img inside adb folder in same place your fastboot.exe
Start cmd as administrator and navigate to ADB folder which includes fastboot.exe as and type "fastboot flash boot boot.img" and press enter
restart phone / fastboot /
- now use Unlimited.io JoupunutBear

[RESOLVED] Did I kill my phone ? catch-22

Hi,
After running with revolutionary and my rooted stock rom 1.47.401.4, I got yesterday a new OTA with 2.10.401.4 (2.3.5 and sense 3).
When trying to install it, it failed (blue android with big "!" on my screen)
First I downgraded my hboot back to 0.98.0000, but than I did something stupid .
I flash my hboot to the one provided with the OTA 2.00.0002, incl radio and all other stuff from the firmware.zip.
Now I ended up with a *** LOCKED *** HBOOT 2.00.0002, but also a 1.47.401.4 rom with android.
I tried to use the RUU_Saga_HTC_Europe_1.47.401.4_Radio_20.28I.30.085 AU_3805.06.02.03_M_release_199410_signed.exe from windows, but that fails as the hboot has the incorrect version.
THe other thing I could do is go back to a 0.98 HBOOT, but that doesn't work either. the rom is ***LOCKED***, I have no root and it's S-ON.
I also searched for an RUU_Sage_HTC_Europe_*2.10.401.4*.exe as that might work because the HBOOT has the right version, but I could not find anything like that
Does anyone have an idea how I can go forward or how to go back ??
My phone is alive again as used the recovery.img procedure below and installed Saga3D 3.0. After that, I tried also the RUU installation to fully go back to stock, but that doesn't work. It complains about a security failure in hboot screen. I locked it back with 'fastboot oem lock', but that doesn't make the RUU work either.

did u try that or u think that wont work?
Before I updated to 2.00.0002, I created a dd-backup on the sdcard for the 0.98.000
when I however use adb to connect, I don't see how I can restore that back without root. I also didn't see the sdcard mounted
I was also thinking ....
Would it maybe also be possible to create a PG88IMG.zip with all the right software for 1.47.401.4 ? and restore that via recovery ? would the current hboot allow a downgrade ?
Today I was able to get the **LOCKED*** off to UNLOCKED via htcdev.com
In the thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1299438
I found this (identical to my problem)
If anyone has the same problem and has hboot-2.00.0002 & S-ON you have to unlock the bootloader via htcdev.com site following all the steps and flash the EXT4 Recovery via FASTBOOT and NOT ADB.!!
Then go to recovery and flash any custom rom.
I don't unserstand what I have to do next. ADB does not work anymore, and only fastboot is available. I downloaded an EXT4 recovery (4EXTRecovery_v2.1.0_saga.zip) which have me an recovery.img and a META-INF folder.
When I name the zip image update.zip, and run
C:\android>fastboot.exe update update.zip
it fails with ...
archive does not contain 'android-info.txt'
archive does not contain 'android-product.txt'
error: update package has no android-info.txt or android-product.txt
How to I proceed to get it working ?
BTW, HBOOT is UNLOCKED but still S-ON
Please help
you already update hboot right. try this
RUU_Saga_S_HTC_Europe_2.10.401.5_Radio_20.4801.30. 0822U_3822.10.08.04_M_release_219480_signed

You can RUU with that correct version or follow my instructions to achieve custom recovery/rom since you are already "unlocked":
Skanob said:
You should be able to change your recovery without any problem if your s-off or unlocked 2.xx.xx hboot s-on.
1. Get 4ext recovery.img
2. connect phone on fastboot
3. In cmd use these command to push the recovery image:
fastboot flash recovery D:\recovery.img (<- should be directory of 4ext recovery image)
fastboot reboot-bootloader
Now you should have 4ext recovery.

[Q] Sensation ICS s-off

So. I have Sensation phone. When i've started it has a android 2.3 and i've got s-off and root by guide. Some days ago i've flash ICS from OTA zip and then unlock it at htcdev.com Now i have: unlocked, pyramid pvt ship s-off, and hboot 1.27.0000. So the problems are: i can't flash recovery, i can't root a phone and can't make backup. When i've started to flash su through stock recovery i got a error like "failed to verify whole file signature" or so. And with recovery flashing i've got the same. I've tried to make revolutionary s-off but there is no 1.27.0000 hboot version at list to get beta key.
So? How can i root my phone?
p.s. i've tried root it by supertool but nothing
If your full s-off, flash the 1.17 firmware found in the dev section, then flash the RUU for your carrier/region.
You should be back to stock, run revolutionary, s-off and root will be regained and then just be careful what you do from now on.
Sent from my HTC Sensation Z710e using XDA
RUU -> revolutionary s-off, root, cwm or 4ext -> ICS OTA
right?
Just get a PG58IMG zip with cwm in it and flash via hboot. Then you can flash a new ROM or the su zip
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
The same story with cwm. When i tried to flash PG58IMG.zip with cwm by hboot i've got nothing (parsing PG58IMG.zip... and flashback to boot). Flashing PG58IMG.zip by stock recovery (flash zip from external storage) give nothing. Just error "failed to verify file signature".
Whatever you do... Don't flash ICS OTA.... Or you'll be stuck.... You'll have to wait for revolutionary to update to have those new hboot be s-off...
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4g with Beats Audio
Will revolutionary support new hboot(such as hboot1.23,1.27)in the future? My device is s-on with hboot 1.23. i just want to upgrade to ics.
Sent from my Sensation using XDA
I think revolutionary will be able to support the new ones in the future... There are unlock firmwares in the forum so no doubt rev will be able to do it...

So i have news about my sutyation. And one problem still avaliable - how to root
So i've flash RUU ICS. Then unlocked phone by HTCdev. Flash 4ext recovery from windows (fastboot flash recovery recovery.img) because couldn make it from htc standart recovery (signature verify error). Now i can flash custom roms, but still can't gain root. I've successfully flashed Superuser-3.0.7-efgh-signed.zip from 4ext recovery but busybox don't want install (reason can't get root privileges) and superuser app told me "access to root folder - failed".
Can anybody tell me what i have to do to get root?

so you have s-off but htcdev unlocked bootloader ????
dude you can get completely unlocked firmware...(by revolutionary that is)
here get the 3.32 unlocked firmware from this thread
assuming you are supercid...(if not as you are soff you can do it via fastboot i guess)
"fastboot oem writecid 11111111" without quotes
flash the firmware ...then you'll get complete access to fastboot commands..
then try flashing superuser again...and check your root privelages via root check basic (market app)

I can't find the ROM in the recovery mode.
It says install and stuff, I dragged the ROM onto the HTC Internal storage but I can't find it.
What do I do?
I'm going out in the clear saying you misplaced it.
Do what I do, create a folder in the root of the SD called "ROMS" and place the .zip inside of that folder.
Make sure you unmounted your phone in TWRP Recovery.
And make sure you flashed the boot.IMG also to flash Evita ROM for the Evita phone. Don't mix em.
Do not use any twrp version above 2.3.3.1 it has issues wiping properly.

i dont know where it is, haha thanks for replying,
1. do i need to flash it via cwm.
2. where can i find it.
3. the phones currently got the bootloader relocked haha but i should be able to unlock it again as its useless atm, its just been entirely formatted via cwm.
You can find the boot.img in the zip file of the rom (extract it from the rom you're flashing).
No, you have to flash it in fastboot mode. You must have adb and fastboot set up on your pc, reboot the phone into bootloader, and use the command :
fastboot flash boot boot.img
There are guides in the desire s general section that include more exact instructions.

so i unlocked my bootloder again using the unlock bin file from before and the all in one toolkit, done, booted into cwm, wipe cace, wipe data/factory reset, wipe dalvvik, install the rom, gapps and beats.
then pressed power off, rebooted into fastboot ad flashing using a guide (sorry cant post a link but i will say its called [Tutorial] How to flash a new boot.img via Fastboot)
all done the guide worked perfectly, it seemed so easy, its booted into android setup now thanks so much for getting me into the right direction

[Q] How to downgrade from 4.2.2.?

Hi,
I'd like to ask for your help. After an update to Android 4.2.2 and Sense 5.0 on my HTC ONE SV I'd really like to go back to the previous version, I know a lot of people are happy about the update, but I'd really like to go back to the older menus, look etc. I don't mind losing the data.
I'm new over here ... so please bare with me
What info should I provide?
Nina
I can't help you at the moment because I have to get ready for work but for starters you will need to unlock your device, acquire the proper ruu (4.1.2), or if its available on here then a nandroid backup (4.1.2) specific to your device. Then at this point the procedures to take would be based on whether you are S-On or S-off.
Hopefully someone else may chime in on this while I am at work.

We need to know, what version of one sv you have (k2u, k2ul, or other).
And if you are S-off, which hboot...
To unlock your device or in simple terms the bootloader you will need to head over to HTCDEV.com and follow their instructions. If you wish to be S-Off you will need to get rumrunner for your phone and follow its instructions - otherwise you may remain S-On.

Then its quiet easy:
unlock your device at htcdev.com (follow the instruction on that side.
Then you need to flash a custom recovery (i recommend TWRP 2.6.3) with fastboot, and next you flash a 4.1.2 rom with recovery. Now you need to flash the boot.img that was inside your rom zip with fastboot and you are ready to go
All links you need, you will find in my index thread (look at my signature for it).
To flash a custom recovery with fastboot you will need to insure your custom recovery image file is located in the same folder as your fastboot file to keep this next part simple.
Go into your HBoot then select fastboot. Connect device to your pc and in the command window type:
Code:
fastboot devices
This should show that your device is connected. If you see nothing then you will need to resolve that before proceeding. Next , once connection is established type:
Code:
fastboot boot customrecovery.img
You are booting instead of flashing the custom recovery so your stock recovery will be persevered. Each time you reboot your device you will need to follow those steps again to access the custom recovery vice your stock recovery.
If you wish to flash it then:
Code:
fastboot flash recovery customrecovery.img
I don't recommend you flashing it yet unless you get a copy of your stock recovery first.
