Titanium backup - T-Mobile LG G2x

Does anyone know if there is an ICS rom that I can use titanium backup, or am I the only one with that problem. It doesn't let me backup or restore?

It worked for me when I try them.

when you say it wont let you restore what happens when you try? I use titanium on ICS all the time, only thing you have to be careful of is restoring apps that aren't compatible with ICS. doing so usually results in a bootloop.

I think what regp was trying to say above me is don't backup and restore "system apps" only "user apps"
Also if it wont do anything for you make sure you have root access and try updating titanium backup.
If both those methods don't help go into settings>applications>manage applications "clear data" for titanium backup
Pin it to Win it.

what I'm saying is there are apps that are not compatible with android 4.0. if you restore any of those apps your phone will bootloop even if you restore without the data.

The apps I try to restore are as simple as dolphin browser or like kik. It will say restoring, but then after that it wont prompt me to install or anything it will just say done and then nothing. I wont have the app installed?

I've never got any bootloop with any of the apps. Its just weird and doesn't let me restore or backup. I have Hellfire ICS rom running.

I had this problem before. Go into TB and go to preferences then scroll down until you get to app processing mode then try all of those options since I don't remember which option is right.
If I helped you, please donate if you can so I can continue helping you guys!

[Q] MIUI FC issues on nexus s amoled

I have a weird issue that may have occurred to others but could not find on the forum. I flashed the rom and English pack. Restored my apps through titanium. Everything runs smooth until I reboot and get bombarded with FC messages about something .media and something. .score. the phone becomes unusable and I am forces to reflash. Can someone help me out a bit?
Try running fix permissions, via rom manager or CW recovery.
I've been using miui for quite a while without any issues - did you wipe everything before installing the rom.

Yes I have tried fixing permission and wiped everything. I thought it might have something to do with titanium restoring something from 2.3.3?
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA Premium App
I'm not sure about that one as I seldom use titanium. The only thing I can think of with titanium is did you restore system settings? You should only restore the apk&data (ie 'restore all apps with data')
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA App
Yup I deselected all the system restore files and only restored my apps and data...

You could always re-flash the rom again, or go under settings-applications-market-force close-clear app data. See if that helps, then delete your google account and re-setup.

If your device is booting, then just reflash with odin again. You might also need to do a factory/reset wipe after backing up critical data (such as TiBu backups, and backups from SMS Backup and Restore)
Also, only use the "restore system data" feature of TiBu when restoring from the EXACT same ROM. Otherwise you'll wind up with all sorts of weird problems.
The only times you're completely hosed are:
1) Your USB port is physically damaged and you can't charge or connect in any way
2) You flashed a bad bootloader (so far has not happened to anyone here other than Aou and he was an experimental volunteer) and have the "black screen hardbrick"

What do you (personally) do after flashing ROM

I am curious to know what other people do to restore apps and associated data. Do you go to market and download all from "my apps" or do you restore from an app backup? Or is there a better way? Can you help a noob out?
Thanks

So you just restore app+data? That's what I did, just wasn't sure if there was a better way. And a big thank you, I love your ROM.

Basically that will do it.

thank you.
yes, just restore missing apps+data. thats all i do.
Sometimes restoring data will cause issues when you flash new roms and the apps might now work properly. I always just flash Apps and then take like 10 minutes to set all the apps up again to be safe after every flash.

restoring MISSING apps and data has NEVER been a problem with me. you dont even want to know how many devices i have transferred my TiBu folder to, and restoring MISSING apps and data has not caused ONE issue, as long as I didnt go crazy and NOT go through and verify i wasnt restoring something Touchwiz related on my Sense ROM, or AOSP on my Touchwiz...etc.

Well I am just glad to know that I am not doing something that will mess up my ROM. I was nervous enough flashing the first time.

I agree TIBU restore apps and app data and be done. Only a few times the app data isn't restored when going from sense, touchwiz to a CM based rom but never had other issues. Flash rom the. Restore apps and data fro. TIBU pro and walk away whole it restores.
I don't bother backing up anything besides my contacts. I restore those first, connect my necessary accounts, and change whatever settings I need/want changed. Then I reinstall my apps.
Well, I agree 100% with Zel and Pirateghost there....Titanium Backup and later restore missing apps and data. As good practice, usually make nandroid back ups just in case.
The first time you flash a new rom is inevitable to sweat as a pig thinking that you will have to go back to your Motorla V3 is something goes wrong....
I don't flash as often as I used to so I use a newly flashed Rom to only reinstall the apps I actually use often. If not ill have a bunch of them I just downloaded and I'm not gonna use.
Plus reinstalling the apps myself and not titanium gives me a fresh Rom feeling lol, yea I'm weird.

I use very few apps myself, anyway, so it only takes a few minutes to set back up after a reflash. Most of those apps, I keep pretty close to default regardless. I run pretty minimal, so it's almost more trouble to take the time to keep everything backed up and organized for my devices than it is to just reinstall the apps each time I flash.
The posts here have given me a bit more to think about as far as TIBU, though, so I might take a deeper look into it soon!
Personally after flashing a rom I cook a slab of Bacon then shower. I then tibu my apps and launcher settings. You can imagine how much grease I take in while we are testing a new rom before release.
I got your 10 char right here

Thank you Bacon-Pope, your comments are (as usual) greasy, crispy, and delicious. Remember Turkey Bacon is neither turkey nor bacon.
after flashing
first thing I do after flashing is check WiFi phone mobile data camera then worry any apps. but I do use titanium backup and never had a problem. maybe I'm the weird one?

Titanium backup pro is the only app I will use to backup/restore.
ROM Toolbox Pro has EVERYTHING you'll ever need as a root user, all packaged in one epic app.

You cannot restore system apps from touchwiz via titanium backup. TW and AOSP roms are very different. You can restore apps only and xml backups such as SMS and call log but you need to do those individually. Try reflashing CM10 after wiping the big Three (like you're flashing for the first time) and restore Apps only. Everything should work again. If you need to back up your call log and sms again restore your nandroid and backup before reflashing.
thank you! those work again. and somehow when i reflashed and rebooted the apps started downloading by itself all again from the play store..just one more question, if i update from 9/20 build of CM to 9/21 then would i have to back up again??
