I know some devices other than Samsung's could use an app called boot manager to do that...and I know there's one for galaxy s2. Wonder if there's one for our phone?
no, there isn't, at least not yet

This doesn't work with our phone because we don't have a kernel to support it. But it may just be modifying the kernel and tweaking the app to allow functionality. But for now just nandroids seems like our only option.
Hahahahahah

Contrary to the massive amounts of ignorance pouring out. Yes, there is a way. There is also a phone that incorporates this however, our device isn't partitioned in such a way. The said device that has this functionality is a Chinese device that isn't supported on XDA.
I'm referring to the M1

I love how everyone always assumes that it's Samsung's decision. It isn't, or at least it isn't completely their decision. They're at the mercy of the chipset maker as to what they can release...they're using proprietary VIA code, and it's up to them as to how much Samsung is even allowed to release.
Bet Verizon is part of the problem as well.

JB for certain (AOSP was too large). For ICS, they were at minimum saying that OS plus TouchWiz would be too much, let alone after VZW adds all of their bulk.
This is sad news, especially when this p.o.s can get ICS, and the charge cannot. Makes me even more regretful for buying my charge for 300.

one word: BB10, blackbery's new os is entirely gesture drive
but we don't have enough devs for a port of something like this, its massive... I truly believe that unless a device with similar chip set/CPU gets it we likely won't. Don't get me wrong our devs are great, just few
Would be nice, as would Firefox OS but i'm more hot for Ubuntu for Android as that would finally rid me of having a technically unnecessary pc
I use a gesture based OS on my blackberry playbook daily. It is incredibly smooth when done correctly. If Ubuntu does it correctly, then I wouldn't mind having it ported. If it's done badly, then it just wouldn't be worth it.

I think what most people on XDA have taken exception to is HTC's complete disregard for GPL compliance. Locked bootloaders and partial source code (if any) abound. It's not that the devs don't like a challenge, it's just that they take offense to a company going out of their way to block them and completely disregard the law.

Not to my knowledge. I have been using it on my SR and my Nexus 7 from the day it was released, with no issues. I actually hate how much it lags. Also, if I remember it correctly, there's no way to view your posts. And when you visit a thread you'd visited before, it takes you to the first page again, which is very annoying. Not sure if this was even tested in the first place.
To view your posts, back up to the left menu, and choose "particiapted". As for the way it opens a previously viewed thread, you can go to settings and choose whether you want it to open at the beginning, go to the first unread post, or to the newest post.
