wonderful-but just how does one install and activate these files? i've downloaded them, extracted them but haven't a clue how to continue and make them work on my PPC6700.
Way cool idea, though!

iPhone skins
This is probably a very dumb question, but how do you install claunch skins after you unzip them? After unzipping iPhone for example, there are 12 bitmap icons; iPhoneAlarm has a folder with some more bitmap icons, and a .skn file?! How does one proceed from there? I tried to drag these files to my pocketpc (under ActiveSync) but that did not worK?!
Also in a similar context, can I install theme files (.tsk) in the MY DOCUMENTS folder in the SD card? and not in RAM? I just did this, but when I look at my x50v under Settings>Today I only see what came with the axim (Dell Default, Guava Bubbles and Windows Default)! I cannot see my other .tsk files that are in My Documents BUT in the SD card! Did I do something wrong? Isn't it better to have the .tsk files not in RAM to save space? and is there anything that would automatically rotate through the .tsk files, like a screensaver?
Thanks for any advice/suggestions,
CP

Delete (I think this is right) the init.ink from StartUp in the Windows folder.
I also have the problem with the PhoneAlarm background.
Am I the only one that is able to get the phoneAlarm work with the carbon fiber background?!
This guy is having the same problem, but he solved it in a .. weird way. Others are having problems too. Let me know if you've found a solution.

iPhone without the Phone Alarm Plugin
I made my iPhone screen without the Phone Alarm plugin, since it looked to be a duplication of icons already on the screen.
However, I did change one thing -- instead of 32x32 icons, I resized them to 48x48 in order to take up more of the screen's real estate.
Then, to complete the skinning, I added Wisbar's Windows Vista Portable Edition Skin from the Lakeridge forums.
This is what I ended up with:

Two questions:
1) i've installed cLaunch, icons and iphone.skn
All runs ok except iphone.skn that even if i select it through cLaunch it isn't shown in the background skin, why ?
I've to change the extension or what ?
2) the 4 icons on the bottom side are only pics without shortcuts to the programs, isn't it ? othrwise how to make them runnable ?
Thanks
Is there anyway to make better use of the real estate available on the homescreens? The current setup with so much space between icons/widgest seems like a colossal waste of the real estate the higher res N1 screen offers.
IMO, it also detracts from the aesthetic appearance of the homescreens. Especially coming from an iPhone.
I'm hoping this is a legacy issue, due to previous phones having lower res screens and google wil fix this.
So you want them closer together so you can't see your desktop? It's not a "legacy problem", that's how it has always been. There may be a home replacement that will do what you want though.
I think a major effect that seperates the iPhone and android ui is android's spacious desktop. I may be misunderstanding you but it sounds like you're asking why the android desktop isn't more like iphone's cookie cutter application squares, which are somewhat claustrophobic in my humble and often stupid opinion. I personally like the desktop feel of android. Feels like I've got a computer in my pocket...

Been using it a while on one screen you can potentially have 60 apps or so!!!
Mwhahahahahha.........
Because if you add more rows, and then rotate the phone, you will not have enough room without rearranging your home screens.
4 rows in landscape dictates the 4 rows in portrait mode.

But at the time of the phones launch and still, the home screens are portrait only unless you install the hacked mod.
Other android devices (droid/cliq/etc) support landscape views.
They're not doing seperate os's for seperate devices.

The aesthetic bit was just a secondary comment. I may well get used to liking the android layout as much, it may just be that i'm used to seeing the iPhone desgin/layout.
However, the bigger point for me was that I am unable to have anymore icons, despite the higher res screen. Which is particularly annoying when you can see all that space going to waste. It definately looks like another row would fit cofortably.
Only 5 home screens and limited folder functionality, make the problem worse for me.
Which brings me onto my second question, is there a simple app to skin folders and allow you arrange icons as you wish? If this were possible easily, I wouldn't need more homescreens. I don't want to use a new theme as I like the current one for now and would like to use it for a bit while I get used to the phone.

Ok, so the height and number of rows is fixed so that they can be mapped without any manipulation to landscape mode. Which from rough measurement appears to be the case.
I guess the issue is not so much with icons/shortcuts which can be easily rearranged as they are 1 x 1 units. But moreso with widgets which may not be rearrangeable with a simple rotation. I.E. You couldn't fit five 4 x 4 widgets in landscape without altering the widgets dimensions.
Guess the simplest ways around it would be to prevent rotation if you select more then the standard 4 rows. Or enable scrolling of the home screen in Landscape.
Anyway, thanks for enlightening me.

Try Apps Organizer.
so in another thread (which was closed and pointed here) similar to this, there was the following instructions
Edit /system/build.prop and change this line:
ro.sf.lcd_density=240
Try using 160 instead of 240. I don't think it allows you to fit more on the screen, but definitely changes the effective resolution.
which I used to increase the resolution of the system, it is BEAUTIFUL...but it doesnt map to well with the nexus tray, wondering is someone could point in me the right direction to get the tray to look better, maybe another value in build.prob that needs changing or....?
I would like to see a 5th row, is there an app for that ?
I'm not a good developer. I wish I could contribute in that respect. But I made a few wallpapers so I thought I could share this with you guys.
BTW, can anyone point me to a good lockscreen/wallpaper rotation app (my idea is to get a bunch of lockscreens and rotate them every time i turn on the phone)
edit: looks like the Hardy png I submitted got converted to .jpg, which looks horrible. Here's the better version of it on ImageShack:
You will need to add a http before the thing I'm about to post because new users aren't allowed to post links.

Hi again. Here's the rest of them. Had to wait 5 minutes and post twice to get around the max 8 attachments They're all formatted so that they don't get blocked by the default SenseUI lock info bar. If you guys have a clear lockscreen for 2.1 ROMs (mainly DamageControl... does it matter them ROM, Android version, or base?)
If anyone is wondering, I just did this real quick in Photoshop - first find an image with vertical appeal (rotation is an option to achieve this), scale the height down to 455 pixels (image size), then crop the width (canvas size) to 320 pixels. Easy peasy.
Here is one I created. Enjoy

you can use lockbot, just load your images onto lockbot and then you can have your lockscreen wallpapers plus either iphone, eclair, flan, type slider. and then you will see a new one everytime you unlock your phone. its doesnt always work for me lol. but it does most of the time.
awesome. thanks, both of you.
I have just been using photos I put on my phone for background and lockscreens.....
Is there any easy way to recover a lockbot wallpaper from a nandroid backup I made before wiping and reflashing to DC? I obviously don't need Lockbot anymore now that I have the Eclair lockscreen, but I really miss the cool lockscreen glowing-droid image I used to have.
I guess I could reinstall Lockbot & redownload the wallpaper since it's still in my market list as a purchased app, but where would the wallpaper image itself be stored? Also, if anyone knows, are Android apps all totally self-contained universes, or could Lockbot screw up my now nicely-running phone in ways that would persist after uninstalling it (kind of like how you can smoke a brand new copy of Vista badly enough to need reinstallation by trying to install a 10 year old copy-protected game)?
The wallpaper should be on your SD card under .lockbot. That is where all themes are stored.
This is gonna turn into another porn thread shortly.
I absolutely love the calvin and hobbes one from the first post. absolutely beautiful
Thanks op. Nice pictures. I like A most.
OK, so I switched to Lockbot and now I don't need to raise the pictures so high anymore. I remade the ones that are now too high and attached them. I also made a Flan-style theme in Lockbot called "MiniFlan" that's designed to show off wallpapers more than tell the time (the clock and date are really small). Attached is a preview of what it looks like. You can download it here:
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=YJ8IFWLE
Note: This theme contains a crapload of lockscreen pictures too. If you want to get just the lockscreens but not the theme, download the theme and look in the "bg" folder. You'll find almost all of the lockscreens I use right now. There are 69 of them and I love them all.
Err you know what, Lockbot is really not playing nice with my phone. I think I'll uninstall it soon.
Here are a few I collected around the web. Some are common ones but a few are unusual. I have quite a few more.
Let me know if you want anymore out of my collection.

Ok so we've all heard the news about CHT2.0 and all its great new features.....
Far and away the best new thing for me is the beast that is Micheldiamond's CHTS....
(If you dont know what Im talking about then check here)
What Im so excited about is that if you kill sense through too much tweaking ( ive lost count of how many times) you can get back to where you were before the crash in a matter of minutes........ its literaly a manila safety net...
It also gives theme makers the ability to dump a whole CHT theme / layout in such a way that it can be implemented in a much easier way than installing numerous cabs and individual tweaks.......
The point of this thread is to see how dumping a layout and applying it to someone elses device works....
This is mainly aimed @ miller710 who kindly agreed to help me test this but I figured Id post it in the forum for anyone who wasnt aware of this great new feature........
Ok on to buisness........
If you'd like to test out how this works then please follow the steps below and let me know how it works for you.....
This is not a release of a theme, its more of an "experiment en mass" with this new feature........
I've attached the layout I posted in the today screen thread here
If your not yet familiar with CHTS I'd recommend that you spend some time playing around and getting used to it first........
First of all, make sure you have CHT Scheduler installed and your baseline saved.........
Save any layout your currently using and check that it all works as it should by saving it.......loading your baseline then reapplying your saved layout....
If it all comes back in all the right places then we are good to go......
Unzip the folder Ive attached and then put the whole folder thats inside into storage card/_CHTScheduler.....
You should see your saved layouts and baseline already in there......
Once its in go for a soft reset.....
then when you go back into CHTS switch gui and try to change layout you should have "black n blue rss" as an option....
Try changing to that layout and let me know what happens......
You should end up with something like the screenshots...............
It wont change your icons, if your using dinik icons you will still have dinik icons..... if your using stock they should still be stock.....
You will not get the "blue tape" digital clock (because my lua skills arent up to scratch yet )
However you should have the wallpaper, widgets and quicklinks and blue soft keys in all the right places
There shouldnt be any serious consequences to this..... if something does go wrong you can restore you baseline/old layout........ however as always you do this at your own risk.....
Worked. However there are some broken links I think this if for programs that you have that I do not. I will post some before after screens in a few minutes.
Hey Troutman! First out there with a trial layout for CHTS (how long before you and Mob release the orange street theme as a zip for this... )
It seems to work fine (once I'd realised that you had to go in one folder once unzipped to find the one names CHTS_blah blah blah and copy THAT one to the CHTScheduler folder in Storage Card!). I'm assuming it won't look exactly like your screenshots - my layout has retained my clock/weather choice on the central screen and the RSS widget is above the clock, not below like in your screenshot. Also I have lots of missing quicklinks
I agree that CHTS is just as amazing as CHT itself - there has been a massive amount of work by MD - it has already replaced Phoneweaver on my phone for automatic connection and sound profiling. I'm just waiting for your orange theme, buff and GTX to be released in this format and I'll be away!
Just been switching back to my baseline as I've been typing and I still have all your quicklinks and none of my free links - hey ho, guess there's still some work to do...
See you back at the Dev group! Love the weather wallpapers you've done for the lockscreen - where can I get the full set?

DOH! should have though of that......
I should have saved a version with empty quicklinks,,, except for apps that come as stock..... opera etc......
Once I figure out how to do an xml for the layout i should be able to cancel out any links that point to apps other people might not have........
So it really is as easy as that........
Good to know....... thanks man!
I also had the problem when I switched back to my baseline. I lost my free links. The wierd thing is that when I loaded your theme, I got the custome cht toggles you used on ur theme. And when I switched back I got the old standard icons. So this seems to be a transferable item as well.
Then after looking it over I noticed that the custom cht softkeys also change with the theme loadout. apparently that is also something that can be transfered.

Hey Dunc, wasnt really intending it as a release, more an experiment and some shameless promotion for CHTS (not that it needs it )...
I think if your swipe up you'll get the rss in the same position as the screenshot..... i didnt post every page on every level....
and the digi clock will be missing because I cant get my standalone widgets to work....... unless you want to kill sense then they're great..... lol
The quicklinks thing was a stupid error on my part, obviously any proper theme releases will come as default with empty link.... I was just rushing to post before the missus gets home........
Not long for Orangestreet..... just need to hammer out the xml... I think thats the missing link.....
Not sure why your baseline would be affected......
Mine has always been rock solid...... If I thought that peoples "safety net" would be jeopardised then I would have held off on posting this because obviously I dont wanna cause people to have to go through a whole set up process again so sorry about that
Appreciate the feedback man thanks again

The glass circle softkeys are before. the Blue softkeys are after. Mind you this is after doing it for a second time so both sets of pics have your free links and quick links. When I reverted back to baseline it kept your icon layout just changed everything else back.

Amazing!
For the quicklinks thing: I have a solution - will be in next fixed version, should be better then:
- It deletes the "old" quicklinks instead of overwriting, so there is no "mixing"
- you can disable quicklink switching with Layout switching in the settings.
Then let's have a look, if this is enough or if we need something more.
Great work, conan - I luv this style of your themes! But that you already know (Congrats to your 1000+, too *g* )
Micha
thanks md, probably best to leave out the quicklinks in the meantime...
I guess people are going too want to set their own links anyway...
is this the best way to share a theme between two devices, by placing the layout folder into the chts folder of another device? or is there a better way....
ha ha thanks for the congrats... it will soon be 2000 at this rate...

oh, overseen your answer, but with new CHTS 2.02 all the quicklink things, which are mentioned above, are soluted.
So Quicklinks are switching now also if they have different designs.
only the randomly moving quicklinks needs also a fix in CHT itself, but meanwhile it's counteracted as good as possible with CHTS, too.
And yes, simply placing and copying the Layout-subfolder is the intended easy sharing or saving of a Layout. CHTS automatically recognizes the new CHT-Layout (indifferent if by .zip or .cab installed) and can be assigned to any profile by the user. mmh...I think that you already know but perhaps some others not.
Thanx for your inputs!

I think all the issues with the quicklinks are sorted now
Any layout I post will have only have empty quicklinks by default, obviously each user is going to want different programs in different places.

Hey guys! This is Crutchcorn. This is my very first app! This will be updated as I am terrible at this as of now.
I kept getting sick and tired of not finding any good iOS 7 Icon Packs with the original icons! As this is a VERY new thing for me I have noticed some difficulties with applying the app theme in LauncherPro but my phone is running on 2.3.3 so that might have something to do with it. Please let me know how it works for you! :fingers-crossed: Hope it works!!!!
(Note: If applying a theme doesn't work for you try applying it manually using something like Icon Changer )

(Also noting: If a moderator moves or blocks this could they please PM me! I am VERY new (my first post!) to XDA so please lemme know what I'm doing wrong. No harm intended!)
Also, to be obious I did not make these icons, only made them into an APK. :highfive:

Hey there, you may also want to try to get root on your phone, and to get
Blurred System UI
Flat Styled Color Bar
Flat Style Module
And if you really want to get fancy you can also grab a CM11 ROM and install Flat Style Theme.
There's so much more I could put here, but I don't want to waste anyone's time if they don't want it

If I might say, I've been so bold to extract icons from apk, since I don't have any suitable launchers , but my LG g3 supports editing single icons and applying png files... Seem to me they're a bit on a small size, I'd like them to be like 3 pixels from the edge of the png, not smaller (with more transparent space on each size) ... if that makes sense ... besides that , all icons are "pitch perfect" iOS.
But at this moment , I went with ClickUI / PopUI style ...
anyways, great effort !!

No I know, and if I am to continue development I have very bold plans (to make a 1:1 clone of iOS as much as possible [only better ;D]) with support for many launchers and just a lot more than this. They are a bit small, but I did this in one evening so eh. It totally makes sense. That's cause it's extracted right from iOS firmware. I want to find someone with a rooted iPad Air 2 (so they can send me a pull of EVERYTHING on internal).... If you know anything like that I may consider getting back into developing this...

I've got iPad mini 1 , and iPad 1 (for retro iOS6 icons) ... I'm guessing that these icons are on the smaller resolution size ... If it would help , I'll gladly extract them in a day or two ... do you know any paths for them etc. something of help ? That green felt is not something we entirely easy got rid of.
Oh, wait .... Damn, my iPad mini is still on iOS6 ...

Oh sweet! Those both work! I could possibly do a bit with iOS 6 stuff as well. Oh jeez... It's been so long and I've sense removed my backups from the device.... I'm not sure but MAY (no promises) be able to get an Apple device for a bit to do a bit of reminding myself. It's okay if you Mini is iOS 6 I suppose... If you'd like I could help you get it onto iOS 7 and then root it, but if that's not an option I fully understand as well. TBH I did this a while ago. I had been part of the jailbreaking world sense iPhone OS 3 and I moved over to Android and gave away my iPod touch right before iOS 7 came out
There are some icons uploaded to deviantart... They are free, and I'm sure if you ask to borrow them the creator will gladly do so... As long as his/her work is acknowledged http://dtafalonso.deviantart.com/gallery/
Hope that helps! And I hope I'm not breaking any copyright rules... If I am, please delete this post, it's not my intention
