Anyone finding an increase in their speed test ratings? Does this do anything for our phone? I noticed lower performance?

You noticed lower performance where? The speed will vary depending on your area, so try out all of the options. I hit close to 10mbps DL and 6mbps UL w/ this script.
Speed will vary depending on area though.
I tried the experimental settins and noticed a boost, just not sure how it affects battery
Okay I will try again. I'll have to see battery also. Looks like a solid script but I was thinking that our "4G" didn't need it but also at the same time it is like 3.5G. I'll just try again.

Okay, so I tried experimental 1&2 and I got 2mbps DL and 500-600 UL on both settings. I'll try again when I get home.

anyone else find a difference?
Sent from my LG-P999 using XDA
Yes... I posted about zeps 3G/script a while back...it helps out with data performance alot...
Mileage varies due to your area but i noticed a big increase in data performance.
But make sure your rom doesn't come with its own data speed tweaks because the script and the pre-installed might conflict each. Other

Saw a thread in Vibrant forum about altering memory slots. (sorry, I'm noobb. My understanding is that it gives the laubcher a higher priority and allows tweakimg of ram for less lag.. Anyone try this out yet?

I tried out out on my other phone p500 and it did show an improvement with phone responsiveness however; it did not boost quadrant scores.

Before I change to.a new ROM,.I'll give it a whirl. Maybe this weekend, I'm away from my phone flashing, naked lady giving box.
Sent from my SGH-T959V using XDA App
Not too sure if you should try that. The Vibrant is very different from this phone, so maybe one of the developers can shed more light on that before you do this tweak and brick your SGS4G.
I was very skeptical as to how much this would work but damn, my net browsing flies now!

Im on scv6....the phone and contacts mod didnt seem to work but i dug deeper and found this radio mod and its a noticeable difference indeed!
Sent from my MB865 using XDA App
Checking it out now...I haven't noticed much of a difference. Hardly any of the other settings in the first menu of Spare Parts on SCv6 work, the regular Spare parts stuff works as normal. I've been playing around with it since installing SCv6, I got excited with all of the options in there but the excitement died when I could get almost nothing to work.
This sounds cool, but surely there is a catch if it randomly improves speeds so dramatically, right? Does it shorten the lifespan of your phone or something (lol)? And what exactly does it modify to achieve this speed boost?
My downloads are faster, net based apps like xda, engadget and sac bee load up faster, even gmail loads and syncs faster. This is how it should be!

I tried it......seems to speed up both wifi and 4g connections. Not sure on battery life tho.....only did it yesterday. Thanks for the heads up.
I'm on SCv6

Can the "spare parts" be pulled/pushed from one rom to another?

No idea. But if you can, make sure to enable this radio mod!
oops
I would like to know where I can get this. There's a lot of talk of how great it is, but no talk of where to get it. I know there is a spare parts app on the store.
Or is this something that is a mod on the ROM you're using?

Spare parts doesn't really work right most of the time with our phone. It is in a few roms, but most options don't work.
Can someone upload screenshots?

Here is a screenshot for you. It's in the Miscellaneous Options on Spare Parts in Scv6 rom.

I need to figure out how to use the netspeed and ram tweaks in Bullet (I think that's the one) into other roms. I travel a lot for work, and noticed on Bullet I had better radio connectivity. Maybe some porting since its coming from the Indian based rom? Hmm...

Took the .apk and incorporated into another. Hit 10520kbps without Hotweiss' Radio mod, and after enabling the mod I hit 106960kbps on data speed test. So far, so good... I'll keep playing with it, but seems to be a winner as far as I can tell!
I've noticed some minor improvement, but I seem to have a less reliable connection.

I was wondering if anyone had any idea how fast you can actually o/c this phone without damaging the processors

Specific to each phone man nobody can say some can get 1.8 some can't go past 1.5 mind you that's just keeping the phone running past those points most bomb and phone boot loops and stuff
Sent from my SGH-I727 using Tapatalk 2
I prefer 1.8 but not all chips are created equal... Mine is a refurbished Skyrocket so im quite pleased. Try it out and go up in increments until you are either blown away by the speeds or your phone says NO! (which usually means a reboot frenzy or boot loops)

Those clock speeds are considered safe so the damage would be from extensive strain from extended time at those speeds which could create high heat man chances are you won't have that issue overclocking is totally safe as long as you don't go crazy
Sent from my SGH-I727 using Tapatalk 2
The CPU is rated to run 1.2-1.7GHz fine so anything above those will depend on voltage and temperature. Higher voltage/temps are the ones that can cause degradation on a CPU when it gets too high. 1.8GHz should be fine but around that range you may see a higher power draw so if you use it too long it will eat up your battery.
Things that can contribute to higher temps other than higher voltages are use of GPS, keeping the screen on/high brightness, playing games while plugged in, using GPS on a car mount (heat from sun), or just plain browsing for a long time using the modem. Keep in mind that unlike computers and laptops, the phones don't have active cooling (fans) so if you plan to overclock just try to keep the phone in a low temp environment (don't leave phone in car!) :silly:
Just be sure to keep an eye on the temperature. If it starts running north of around 38° C then you should back it off.
That being said, with the badass or SmartassV2 governor I've had plenty of success setting the OC to 1.7

Hi friends!
I Found that in Moscow my phone have battery life 3-4 time worse that in US with same or less usage
I think it is a radio issue, but I try many radios (rojers, tellus, blaze, att5 & 6) withouth a seriouse effects.
Can You suggest me somethink?
Thank You!
P.S. i'm on SKYICS dragon 2.8 with Cymbalin kernel 2.6 tuned (UV, UC, intellidemand, deadline).

What you signal dbm? You can find it under settings>about phone>status or download network signal from the market. Also you could try a RAT unlocked radio and pick a specific band+frequency which will give you the best reception to your area. Furthermore download better battery stats and check how long is your phone sleeping.
Now I have -101 dbm. It is a typicaly value.

-101 is the equivalent of 2 bars, that's what I get at home and it does drain more battery but I don't think you should be getting as much drain as you're experiencing. Maybe they run on different frequencies there and you need to get a radio/unlocked rat that can lock out all the other frequencies. Try the Rogers radio maybe.
Edit: Just saw you mentioned that you have tried Rogers. What data are you getting there? 2G/Edge, 3G, 3.5/4G or LTE? Force it to whatever the best you get is.
I just want to know if their is any kind of build prop tweaks to increase mobile data connection.. I live in Chicago get great T-Mobile LTE service (see screen shots) but don't seem to have strong connection.. Or does having connection full green not matter ? I remember on my GS3 there was fee build prop tweaks to fix that .. Also I'm on cataclysm rom with faux 014u kernel

Try flashing the .17 or .15 radio. It seems to help LTE performance.
so whats wrong with your data speed, its better than many other people get?
Nothing is wrong with it I was just wondering if the signal could get better/ stronger .. Like a green bar.. Not that weak yellow I was just wondering

the signal varies depending on your personal location. it can vary a few steps from one spot to another, time of day, and depending on how busy your local network is. theres nothing that with help you with your signal. from the looks of it, your data signal is good.
Thanks guys I was just curious To see if better signal will get me better battery life.. battery life is good but you know gotta always want more
