Go for a refurb Nook Color or Archos.
The tablet you showed has good specs but considering the fact that it's not a common model, you will have trouble finding,
1) rooting procedures.
2) service/repair
3) custom ROMs.
And, the one you showed looks like a Chinese tablet that have crappy hardware and software.
If you took a look at the review they said it was quite neat, and I've only heard good things about it when looking around.
It just worries me a bit, that people says 2.2 is crap and that dual core is worth **** when most things only run one one :/
Nook Color and Archos is e-reader, I don't want that :/
Only 2.3 and 3.0 tablets worth buying?
Nook is fully functional android tablet when rooted... Not just e-reader... And much better than the Chinese tablet you are looking at. A friend at work bought one of those... Very slow and lags like crazy... No good. Hope you find what works for you.

I found this forum for rooting etc..

Nook Color has an A8 800Mhz, that is worse and consumes way more power

2.3 and 3.0 tablets are somewhat worth buying. Archos is not an eReader. It's a PMP/tablet. Nook Color is an eReader and so has an excellent display. Still, it's full touch and can be rooted and made to function as a real tablet.
I wouldn't really call 2.2 crap. It's good but with a Nook Color, you will be able to update to 2.3.5 using CM7.
It's sad that you are making me repeat myself, a Nook Color comes with an American warranty unlike a Chinese product which has no warranty. Even if they advertise one, you can't be sure that they will honor it 100%.
A review can be biased. On the internet, you can easily write a biased review. Nook Color has a huge modding community and, not everyone is going to be biased.
As for Archos, it's more multimedia oriented and so has a dual cam as well.
I wouldn't call dual core ****. Although not a lot of software can utilize multi-threading, you will see better software soon. It might take some time by when, your tablet would become slow and outdated. Dual core is worth it but it's not a smart choice, right now.

Nook Color does consume more battery but it has reasonable life.
Then again, it all boils down to your own priorities. If you don't mind a sub-standard Chinese product as long as it's cheap and has some cool specs, go ahead. If you want a somewhat quality product which is either little expensive or has lower specs, don't buy the model you showed.
I think I'll buy it next month, just to try out a tablet.
I can always buy something else if I like it

^ Ok. Was assuming you were thrifty or on a tight budget. If you can spare the money, go ahead. =)
Well my budget is 200 Euro / 300 USD MAX.
I found this Hannspad which I think is kind of sexy, especially if you can install custom roms from XDA, I love romin' xD

Even laptops are hard to upgrade hardware wise, let alone tablets.
He is talking about software. That thing runs 2.2. Most smartphones listed in have custom ROMs. Most phones that have only 2.1 officially have 2.3 ported unofficial by XDA members. He is asking if you can upgrade that device to 2.3 at least unofficially.

That looks more like a scam. It is impossible to squeeze so much power with such a low price.
What is your primary purpose for this tablet?
I would second the suggestions for Nook&Color.
Also, I hear Amazon's going to launch it's new android based eBook-centric tablet, as "Amazon Kindle" for $250. If you just want to read some ebooks, do a little surfing, and play games like Angry Birds. Then I think this tablet is for you. Keep in mind that this tablet is very ebook-oriented and NOT AT ALL like any other android based tablet. Heck, it doesn't even support some of the google services (Android market). You may want to watch out for that.

Nook Color can be rooted and flashed with CM7 and be turned into a full fledged tablet. I believe there's a honeycomb port as well.

No it isn't : it's a real fully-functional Android tablet.
I own a A101IT (G8, the one running Froyo), and really like (and recommend) it!
... or you should wait for the next version (G9), with a dual-core and Honeycomb-powered.

Hi~ Do you know this device?

It`s Korean Device
and it has terrible performance
1Ghz Cpu
512Mb Ram

CPU : 705
Memory : 1671

2D : 276 (FPS : 15~20)
3D : Test failed

Do you know this terrible device?
(Sorry, I can`t upload device picture.)
never heard of it, wish i could help =(
Can you post the model number or something?
I have never come across it. Specify some of the features of it..
Any other specs we should take note of like device size, screen resolutions etc?
And since it's a Korean device, there's only three known manufacturers, mainly Samsung, LG and Pantech so I assume we should be able to zoom in to one of the hundreds of phones these three companies have made.
seems like a joke... maybe iphone?
we need more information to identify it
A year and a half and already have 1gz cpu? It is weird...
i think it's fake..
8gb koreans? O2x ?

I had never heard it before!
New branch in Korea?
HUH
there are so many phones, that would fit into...
don´t you mean korean ... samsung ? You can go to korean samsung page and find yourself
Maybe check under the battery for a model number?

[Q] QWERTY/QWERTZ keyboard android

Hi,
Im looking for an android phone with qwerty keyboard. I recently purchased Xperia Pro but it doesnt fullfill my expectations - what annoys me the most is the constant (and kinda slow) refresh of (any) launcher connected with sliding the keyboard out or in.
So, my next target is Motorola Pro+. Im a bit nervous of how is it unsupported and about the shape of the keyboard but apart from this I like the bar construction with qwerty front-facing keyboard and portrait screen (better for me than landscape).
But Im pretty much disappointed with the small number of android bar-style qwerty phones there is - ie. with acceptable screen size and resolution and performance.
Are there really no (say) bar-style qwerty android phones with 1GHz cpu and 3,5" 800x480 screen and some acceptable amount of internal memory, ICS compatible?
If there are, please, write me about it. Or write me about how great and cool the Morotola Pro Plus is, despite the GB version of android.
EDIT: JUST WANT TO STRESS OUT I DONT WANT A SLIDER. IM LOOKING FOR A BAR-STYLE PHONE. OR, IF IT WAS A SLIDER, SOMETHING SLIDING DOWNWARDS, LIKE BB TORCH. THANKS.
Im looking for something like this:
http://www.celularesandroid.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/02/motorola-pro-a.png
Samsung captive glide is a good keyboard phone. It has s 5mp camera and a 1.1 dual core prosesor.

C'mon, I believe I specifically wrote I'm looking for a "bar-style" phone ... Not a slider! And IF I wanted a slider, then sliding down, something like a BB Torch.
Now I found something called Motorola XPRT. However, it looks like Motorola Pro Plus is better. Am I right?
What about galaxy y pro. It looks good. Don't know much about it but you can find out.

The only thing I can think of is the Samsung Galaxy Chat, with ICS. However, it has a very low res screen (320x240) and its only 3 inches diagonal. But its biggest selling point is ICS.
It has a single core 850 MHz processor and 4 GB of internal storage.

Yeah, youre right about the ICS being the biggest selling point - Id be afraid of the speed of the system though. And the resolution clearly sucks ... :cyclops:
Looks like Im ending with the Motorola Pro Plus, back to gingerbread ...
Just bumped into this - Samsung Galaxy M Pro B8700. Better-than-****ty resolution, 1GHz CPU ... looks worth checking ...

Got Pro Plus and it's a great device. As I went through other similar devices (qwerty, android, touch screen), this one offers the most (processor, higher resolution) :victory:

Samsung or Sony

hey people which phone would you prefer
sony xperia p
-1gb ram
-dual-core with mali 400 singlecore
-very good screen with qhd
Samsung galaxy s advance
-only 700-800mb
-dual-core with mali 400 singlecore (the same chipset)
-amoled screen with 800x480 pixel
for me is a good xda community very important so which would you prefer
Idk if everything is as easy for Samsung as Sony I say Samsung but never played with a Sony phone
Meh Fascinating Unicorn Devil
Don't buy any of them the flagship phone from last year ( sgs2 and xperia S) are far superior at the same price.

There are not many ROMs available for Xperia P.....you should also consider checking Arc S. It has not dual core proccessor, but its speed is decent. Xperia P's disadvantage is that there is no separate forum on XDA. If you dont mind it, then buy Sony Xperia P because it has better specs(higher resolution, more of RAM, better camera-Exmor R, better design)

sorry but im now in germany and here you cant get the s2 without the g and the xperia is over my budget (the s2 also)
BTW i have a budget of max 300 euro
both phones (s advance and xp) are pretty new so the community is surely not so big.
And i want to play games like mc3 with it:
both have the same chipset so both have almost the same performance. are they good enough to play those games??
If you are considering just SGA and Xperia P I would definitely go for Xperia.
better screen rseolution, a bit more RAM, probably officaial ICS (samsung sucks with upgrades), better camera, HDMI port.

New phone buying advice please !!

I am going to spend some money on buying a CDMA android device pretty soon for my father. Its a unlocked CDMA phone running android 2.3. Model (MTS mtag 352) which is actually a zte device. The deal is I am able to buy a new piece for only $80.
Details:
http://www.mtsindia.in/smartphones/MTag352/index.html
Video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9H3-JMfxod4
The device won't be used for multimedia much at all. Very rarely for browsing. Mainly for phone and contact management. No audio storage no video storage either.
My only worry is the device sports only 256 mb ram and 140 mob internal memory. So do you think for the usage I described , the mentioned specs are good enough ? Mainly memory ?
Apologies if the post is not in the right section, but I couldnt find the device having a specific forum section so am posting this in q and a here.

buy to him a jiayu g3, 2750mha battery, 1g ram, dual core cortex a7, 4,5 screen, sd support, gorila glass, 2 sim capacity, and more! and isnt expensive, it can be chinese, but it is even better that this. i love it, or a jiayu g2, it is nearly the same, but a bit smaller with less things
if you can pay more than 80, or a jiayu g1 even cheaper, there are very cheap phones in internet

The thing is even though I want to buy better I am avoiding purposely. In India currently there are absolutely no good android CDMA handsets. While I did think of getting from us via eBay, it won't help much. He uses his phone for nothing other than talking. So In my view a android device with gtalk is better than non his android CDMA device.
So what's your view regarding that device. I am mainly worried about running out of memory with only sms and contacts.
