I have been looking and looking for information concerning this but no luck. Jawbone's website has said for a long time that they might release an app for the windows phone. They have a Jawbone companion app for both the Iphone and the androids. I am wondering if anyone could port the app from either of those two for the WP7?
i was sort of looking for something like this too, for a Plantronics Back Beats 903+ headphones (Bluetooth)
they have an iphone app but an OSD would be nice.

Does anyone more familiar with DLNA requirements know if this will be exclusive to the LG phones for hardware reasons or will this same app be able to work on phones from, say, HTC? This sounds like it could potentially be a great feature with my Onkyo DLNA AVR. Could be a deciding factor for me in which phone I ultimately decide on.
As i understand it LG developed it together with Microsoft and is only available on LG phones. If it will show up on other phones later i don't know but we can sure hope so. Right now i would buy the LG just because of that feature.

I think so, unless another phone has the DLNA hardware. LG is great! If you have a LG tv, stereo, surround system you can control them all with any LG remote. Im willing to bet that if you have a LG tv you won't have to set up your phone or tv to use the app.
Oh so it is a hardware issue? I thought hopefully, just maybe, it would just be software... damn, I really like the surround. Wish it had dlna
There's no such thing as DLNA hardware.
Awesome, that's what I was hoping. So all that is needed is wi-fi. Theoretically, this should be able to be ported from the LG to any wp7 device, correct? If that's the consensus, it will make my decision much easier.
It may/will be ported when/if WP7 is jailbroken. Apart from that, DLNA isn't something that belongs to LG and can't be done by someone else. When Microsoft provides access to socket APIs there may be third party solutions.
Dlna is using wifi it has nothing to do with any kind of hardware , and it havebeen ported to hd2 with Dhd android port
So I can connect my phone to my tv wireless now?
Damn thanks for the info! I thought I needed one of those players.

Your TV must support DLNA.
I knew DLNA wasn't proprietary to LG (my Onkyo receiver, Samsung blu-ray, and wmp11 all have it), I just don't really know how the internal phone stuff works like drivers and stuff so I wasn't sure if it would ever work even after the imminent jailbreak. HTC Surround, here I come! Thanks for selling me on it guys!
but if you have windows 7 that could be a stand in
Any way to side-load "play to" to a Samsung Focus yet?
I have to check it out at some point. I have LG.
I can sideload Play To to my Focus, but when I start the application, it's always said that I need the update my OS to the latest version (and I''m on 7392 at that time).
I can search for DLNA device, but since I don't have any DLNA device, I don't know if it's worked or not. Can I use my Windows 7 laptop ??
Is there anyway to directly connect to my daughters Ipod touch via her Facetime app using my Andriod Phone? She is only 8 and two of her friends have Ipods now and they are already linked up via Facetime (in under a DAY!!!). I would like for her to be able to contact me via it but I use a Samsung Galaxy S under Andriod and I cannot see any apps that directly connect via Facetime.
I can see there are alternatives like Frang etc, but I would rather my daughter had one app for contacts to keep it simple and easy for her to use.
Can someone tell me if this is possible please.
Thanks
Max
Facetime is a application from Apple, if a software company wanted to they could by License to allow the service to work. But from my understanding there has yet to happen for the android platform.
Double post >.<
Why launch Facetime for android if they can convert android users to the iPhone?
They'll never license it to third parties.
Okay, worth an ask as I had no idea about this.
I certainly won't get an Apple product as I think they all suck, my daughter only got an IPod cause she banged on about it and she is not getting a phone yet (so she will not get something decent running Android).
I was hoping there was a way in the same way that Trillian allowed connections between MSN/AOL/Yahoo etc on the PC. But obviously not. I may have to resort to another app for her Ipod then to connect to me and her mum in case she needs too. Annoying but hey ho.
Thanks all the same
Max
Tango has updated to support the new ipod touch. So you can video chat between ipod touch and android device using tango, just not facetime.

Fring is another application that allows aol, msn, yahoo and video chat between android and apple os
You can't with face time. However, you can install Fring on your phone AND on their iPods

I know it's a huge disappointment that HTC didn't put in a HDMI port, something that didn't bother me until recently.
I know for a fact that DLNA works great for streaming videos and photos taken on my phone to my TV, even on CM7.
I also just recently saw those youtube videos of guys using their Evo 4gs as their desktop, and wondered if there was a way for this to be accomplished on our phones. I was mainly thinking there was some way to work some magic over DLNA, and then bluetooth speakers, mouse and keyboard for the rest.
Anyone know if this is possible at all or even semi possible?
(I tried to search before posting but the search was down)
I'm also looking for an answer to this
I would like to see some idea on this too. I guess we're in the minority.
I agree as well, this is something I would be interested in. I remember when I bought my previous phone (nokia 5800 XM). I was quite excited about it's video out function, only to find it's composite analog video out to be wanting.
When I was trying to decide between inspire and the Atrix, a big deciding point for me was the untested nature of the dual core, and so far I like the results of my choice, the 2nd gen snapdragon has plenty of ooomph to play my highly compressed x264 mkvs and the battery is somewhat reasonable, however the screen mirroring is something I would really be interested in, surely with the gpu/cpu combo in place some kind of solution could be put into place, it doesn't take that much bandwidth to push a 2d desktop worth of images, especially with modern network speeds.
Here's hoping!
I am really hoping for a way to do this too. That new crackle app would be a lot nicer if I could watch it on my tv.

I was searching for it too, but no luck.... Hope someone gets hands on this
I'm also looking for a way to mirror the screen of my sony tablet S to the TV set - via dlna?
would be cool to hear from someone with dlna related developement experience.
They say it's not even possible to make a screenshot on android without root permissions. (no, please dont start a discussion about screenshots now, explaining how wrong I am
Dude, I think you've got the wrong section, this is the INSPIRE 4G SECTION.
hope someone posts a tutorial
no matter what section. the problem is the same on all dlna capable devices.

if you mean this one, it requires some hardware.. a dedicated stethoscope! the only function of the app is to record the stethoscope input... since it costs some hundreds $, it's better to buy another digital stethoscope that is PC compatible

I believe someone made the sw2 to work with blackberry phone. I came across that in the web. Just do a Google search for smartwatch blackberry and you should be able to find it. Maybe there you can find info on what you need to do to make the watch to work with windows phone.
Check the link below.

Hmmm that I did not know. They should have released those devices with android and advertised as such. Maybe then, they could be in a better position than they are in now.

I created 2 WIndows Phone 8 apps to work with the Pebble watch which are in the WP store. If I get some time I might try to create one for the Sony. I have the Sony Smart Watch 1. If I am able to get that to work I will probably buy a Sony SW 2 and see if it the Bluetooth protocol is the same. I had a small amount of luck with the Sony LiveView watch but moved onto the Pebble when I finally got that from my Kickstarter pledge.

I have since purchased the Sony Smartwatch 2 but have not had time yet to work on an app for Windows Phone. I still intend to do so once I get finished with the Pebble apps. Otherwise, I just wasted money on the Sony Smartwatch 1 and 2.
Just wondering... Wouldnt it be useless whether you port over actual apps...
