Okay I flashed GOv2 and I enjoy using but I have a question.I was in such a rush to get this rom flashed that I did no type of backup...suppose I for some odd reason(I don't) wanted to go back stock what are my options...is the stock rom still on the phone? I also want try GingerClone but with the smx framework & themed apps(once I find all the files)...what's the best way to backup my present rom(GOv2)??

Oh dear me another lost newbie.
Go to cwm recovery n select restore n bckup n click back up it will keep ur phone from the settin. From that last point u had it turned off

And to go back there is a stock rom that's rooted, wolf has it up in his reposts thread
Sent from my SGH-T839 using XDA
I guess that answered my questions all I have to do now is find the smx framework and themed apps link that works...

The version of GingerClone I have uploaded is the themed one, if that's what your referring to...

i dont think you'd have to ODIN. i was on Gingerclone V2 (KD1) and flashed Clean Fusion V3. i Just wiped data and cache then installed. i got a soft brick how ever but was able to get into recovery with the 3 button combo. this time i checked my mounts and re-wiped, then installed and checked my mounts to make sure system was still on /unmount.. it wasnt so i just changed it to unmount /system. then rebooted and it booted up fine.
So basically i think i couldve prevented my softbrick if i checked my mounts the first time. Maybe going KD1 to KG2 requires mount checks ? Idk but i know you can flash from KD1 i just did it just check your mounts to be safe
Ok thanks ayoteddy im going to try it right now I'll let you know how it goes in about ten mins

Yes I'm using your rom so far my two favorite roms with the least bugs or no freeze ups are touchmiuiwiz and this one I haven't used it but just today but so far so good for some reason all the roms that I have used are way better than stock but have occasional freezes and I have to pull the battery but your roms smooth as of right now hope it stays that way and once again I appreciate yours and ayoteddys work and your help........ I know I tried to avoid the soft brick and using odin that's why I asked first but I flashed it succesfully first time ayoteddy gave me the hads up for checing the mounts then I removed a couple apps and fixed it to my taste and its great keep it up iill be waiting for the update

I just want to make sure about this. I just read the installation directions and it says to delete recovery before flashing or ill end up in a boot loop, is this still true? I've installed it when it first game out but I don't believe I deleted it before and I ended up fine, Im curently running infused 1.6
Which case I do need to delete recovery and I want to go back to froyo based roms later on would I need to reinstall the recovery?

I dont think so its a correct way. U have to do all settings in ur phone from scratch.
Simple solution is just flash deodexed flashable zip file over current theme. It will replace all themed file to stock without disturbing anything on phone
P.S. - Its already posted in forum many times. Please search before post
Don't mean to contradict u vishal...i acknowledge your experience but i have flashed stock over deodexed with no complications....

There is nothing contradictory buddy Dont worry. I wanted to say that when u flash stock rom then u loose all ur mods, scripts, kernel etc. So for that u have to do all procedures to get those mods, kernels etc by flashing via pc odin or by using recovery mode flashing zip files etc which is very lengthy & time consuming process.
Got it vishal...didn't know that...thanks a lot

If you're on macbook, then instead of odin you should use heimdall. Its a cross platform flashing tool, easily available.
Please search option to read how to flash via heimdall, and also for the link to download it.
Press thanks if helped
Ive tried many of times to flash a ics rom on my infuse but it always ends in a horrific way i usually get stuck in a bootloop, a broken Cwm recovery screen or my phone just doesnt want to turn on half the time i am currently running infused v2.2.3 build w zen core a16 kernel and voodoolag fix how would i flash a ics rom from this rom without any problems, and any suggestions on the best ics rom on xda?

1. Make sure you do all of your wipes.
2. Flash once to get blue recovery
3. It will likely hang so get back into recovery and do all your wipes again.
4. Flash the rom again and reboot. Should be good after that.
What steps were you taking?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I997 using Tapatalk 2
You need to flash Gingerbread bootloaders. That's why your recovery is broken. After doing that you'll be good
I have a red cwm tho

Okay. Do the wipes as per instructions sake.
First, you're going to have to flash whatever ICS ROM you want. It will be stuck at the Cyanogenmod screen. Wait a minute.Take out the battery and put it back in. Now, when you reboot, you are going to have a messed up BLUE recovery. THIS IS COMPLETELY NORMAL as you have Froyo Bootloaders. What we need you to do is attempt to find the ICS ROM again that you wish to flash. Flash it the second time. Reboot. Voila!

Depends on personal preference. Using nun's aokp and was using RemICS UX edition as well. Both ran very fluent. AOKP has a few more customization options from what I've observed over the cm9 base builds.
Every single ICS ROM has its own distinction. I have personally tried JB's Ultimate ICS and AOKP.
I highly recommend these two. AOKP provides more customization options off the bat, but JB provides its own pros as well. It is just a matter of personal preference.
Good luck!
actually sometimes you wont have to reflash if it boots straight up into it
