[Q] why is google services framework hogging my data? - General Questions and Answers

Hey guys, Google services framework is hogging my data badly. It passed from less than 1 mb a day to around 40 mb a day on March 12, 2012. Keeping like that until today. Take into account that I'm mainly on wifi . It's ruining my 500 mb data plan! I can't figure out what's going on.
Help please!
GNex, 4.0.2, Vodafone Spain
UPDATE I tried force closing Cloud to Device Messaging and nothing... Well, now the service is no more there and I can't see my device on google play at all. Tried force closing Google Services Framework, clearing data and rebooting with no results... :-( Any idea?

Hi, I'm also facing this problem. Did you find any solution ?

That's crazy! What did you update or use?
Chances are, you have automatic updates enabled for the Play Store. It checks to see if you have it enabled and asks if you want to enable it if it isn't. It also presents you with a warning that data charges may apply if enabled.
Just check your settings and disable them.

Google+ : I disable sync but it comes back !?

Hey...
I have an issue... I want to disable Sync Google+ and Sync Google+ Photos in the Google Account setting.
However, after a few days... those options always go back checked.
I don't know why...
I know the photos won't sync anyway because in Google+ this option is not activated.
However because Google+ Photos Sync is always checked after some time, when I take a few camera shots... I have a notification later from Google+ with one of my photo with some effects added (and then I understand that this option is activated again) and I can see many wacklocks from google+ sync in my battery stats !
so... anyway idea why it is happening ?
My idea....most Google apps are terrible. Freeze them both in titanium backup and just use your browser. Done. And your battery will thank you. ?

Better yet just disable the sync services with the Disable Service app lol.

Mine did that too. I finally Judy un installed it with titanium backup. It's not worth the hassle. It's a shame because I liked the app otherwise.
Ok thanks

OnePlus One (Kitkat 11S50Q) Battery Drain

Hi I am running fully stock (50Q) Kitkat on my Oneplus One. I need some help figuring out how to stop my battery drain happening from Google Services/Google Play Services. I have already have went into privacy guard in app ops and went into Google play services and denied (Wake Up) and (Keep awake) but Google Play Services/Google Services is still showing up at the top of my battery usage. If anyone knows a fix that would be great.

Can't login to Google, no maps in apps, location issue. OP8T

Hello,
I've recently got OP8T and I was not planning to use Google account on it as I simply don't need it. But since the start I'm having issues with location GPS, the issue is when I'm inside buildings it's not finding location by network/BT etc. eventhough in settings I switched it on. Only GPS outside of buildings works. Another issue is that I do not see maps in different apps like uber or food delivery apps. So I thought the issue might be because of my lack of Google account login, but when I tried to login I get this error "Couldn't sign it - there was a problem communicating with Google servers".
So I'm a bit stuck with lack of network localization, lack of maps in apps, and can't login to Google.
Any idea how to fix any of those issues? Photos of those issues here: IMG
Thanks a lot.

from the screen shots you provided you do not have cell service.
is the radio broken or are you running without a sim?
I tried both, with sim and without. The solution was hard reset and now it works. Thanks for help anyway.

Question Google Timeline

for some reason my Google Timeline has stopped updating from my old Joying Intel Sofia head unit. I have a separate google account that I use for this. Location history, etc are already enabled.
Anyone got any ideas ?

I assume you googled for it and checked these kind of fixes?
Yes done all those except remove & re-add the account. Will try that later today.
[EDIT] did the remove & re-add account today. Will see what happens when I pop to shops later on.
Still no timeline are re-adding the google account All google settings seem to be the same as Wife's UIS7682, so wondering if Google doesn't like the older firmware in my Intel.
Update-1 (in case it helps someone): Deleted & re-added google account again, plus updated cleared cache on G Maps & Play Store. Now got some timeline working again. Will need to see how it behaves on longer journey later this week.
Update-2: Timeline has now been working again for several days. It seems the account reset did the trick.
