GestureControl compatibility favor - Samsung Galaxy Tab Plus

Ever since the last update, GestureControl shows as incompatible on my 7.0 Plus. The developer says there's no mistake on his end, so I was wondering if someone else with the 7.0 Plus could look it up and just see if it shows as compatible or not - no download or anything required:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...29tLmdvb2Rtb29kZHJvaWQuZ2VzdHVyZWNvbnRyb2wiXQ..

its compatible with my device... no problem at all...

Might be something I've done to mine, like change the DPI, then. Will look into it. Thanks!

[Q] Option for to "Use ART" for Runtime is Missing

Hey everyone - just a quick question... I wanted to mess with the ART runtime to see how it runs, if any of my regular apps don't like it, etc. However, I don't have this option in the Developer options (see attached image)
The phone is a Verizon Galaxy S III (SCH-I535) upgraded to the latest Android version available 4.4.2 (see attached image). The phone is rooted, but running the stock OS.
I looked all over Google and XDA but didn't find anyone else with this problem. Has anyone else come across this?
Thanks!

Wondered the same thing
You're not going to find Android’s new runtime ART on Samsung as it seems TouchWiz isn't compatible with it yet. Maybe in 4.5 when it becomes mandatory. Right now it's still Goggle experimental.

Well, I'm not going to get my hopes up - it was my understanding that this last update was probably the last one the S3 will get, correct? Sounds like when we get to that point, I may need to go with a custom ROM.
In CyanogenMod, its under development settings, tap Build several times to enable it.
I doubt stock has that option, but it might be worth a try.

[Q] How to get rid of "switch to previous size" icon on galaxy note 10.1

Really sorry if this is a stupid question, but this just started appearing on the bottom right of my screen. This stupid minimize/maximize icon will constantly be on and just won't go away. I never had this problem until yesterday. I understand its related to Samsungs multi window, but is there anyway to get rid of it? Should I just downgrade to an older version?

Can you post some screenshot?
I can't find any such buttons until or unless I press on multiwindow seperator.
If it's appearing for you, it might be from Samsung Multiwindow feature it self. It will appear even if you downgrade your app.

Thanks. I'll try to get a screen cap. In the meantime, here is a link to another forum that describes my problem: forums.androidcentral.com/samsung-galaxy-note-10-1/263352-switch-previous-size-irritation.html
Essentially it seems to be a problem that many programs seems to have the Galaxy multi window. I think you may be onto something with it being on SamSung's end since I didn't have this problem before, and since so few people actually have this problem. I've googled everything I could find about trying to turn this feature off using the SamSung settings, ect...., but nothing seems to work. I think I may inadvertently changed one of the settings on the Galaxy Note, which caused this stupid icon to turn on, so I'm hoping for some way to turn it off. I guess I could do a hard factory reset, but that would wipe all my data, so that's kind of a last resort.
I also wanted to add that I don't have a problem with the "Switch to previous size" icon appearing in other video players like KMP or VLC. It's only appearing when I use MX Player - which is why I originally thought that there might be a problem with the MX Player I'm using which is Pro Version 1.7.35
Update - still having this problem with the icon on the lower right of the screen. I uninstalled the MX player and did a hard factory reset on my Galaxy Note. Then I reinstalled the program. Still no luck with getting rid of the icon. Maybe I do have to try an older version?
Here is a picture of the multi-window icon. It's on the bottom right.
OK, I solved the problem. Apparently this is a glitch with the new version of MX Player version 1.7.35
I downgraded to 1.7.34 and viola, no more stupid multi window icon. I know I didn't consciously update my original version. I only did so after hoping that the new version would solve the problem of the annoying icon. However, the problems started for me right when the new version was released on 12/30, so maybe the program just updated itself? If so, is there someway to turn off the automatic update feature if there is one? I tried to look, but couldn't find one.
In short, do not upgrade to 1.7.35. It is not properly designed with the galaxy multi window feature. Stay with 1.7.34 or below.
Hmm, I wonder if this has anything to do with how the Samsung launcher tries to handle Material designed apps...
Me too
Hi alohaanime
I am getting exactly the same problem on my samsung note 10.1 and only since the last update same as you. I've tried everything I possibly can to fix it and been unsuccessful so I downrated the app in playstore, lets hope that gets the developers attention.
This app before the update was by far the best videoplayer on the web and easiest to use on the tablet, I hope they fix it soon?
How did you back pedal to the previous version?

Down rating is meaningless.
Since millions of people are using the app from worldwide, the developer can't read the each & every review.
Regarding this issue,
The latest version uses Google's latest compatibility libraries to apply material design. There might be some conflicts with your device's android layout system.
I have tried myself on my s5. It works well with Multiwindow feature. I can't see such icons.
So, developer may need sometime to figure out the issue. Or it might be a issue from the google libraries itself.
So, it's upto you whether you want to use latest version till it's fixed or not. As another has already said you can temporarily use the old version till the update with fix.

[Q] PiPO Pad P1 9.7 Inch Rockchip compatibility problem

Hello,
I just bought this, it's not a major brand and so I knew I wasn't going to have everything as easy as my samsung phone and here's my first problem.
I have two apps I want to install that won't which are Wase and Escort Live, both traffic apps. Both when I go to the android app. store give me a "This item is not compatible with your device." message.
The OS is the same version as my Samsung Note 2 phone (4.4.2) which has both those apps. and I question if there really is a compatibility issue that would matter.
So, is there way to find out exactly what the app is looking for that it can't find that's making it incompatible?
Is there a way of installing an app. even if playstore thinks there's a problem? Maybe there's an app that will make a device look like to playstore it's got what the app. wants?
I bought this device to experiment with, not so much as a work tool, so I have no problem rooting it or whatever if needed although it's rare enough there might not be a known way to root it.
Any help appreciated.

My Places widget gone after Nougat update

Anyone else notice that the My Places widget is gone with Android N? Frustrating as I was using the location based settings a lot between work, home, car,etc... Would not have done the upgrade yet had I known!
Same here - My Samsung Galaxy S6 just updated to Nougat, one of the most important features I use daily - the My Places widget that allowed me to manager shortcuts and settings BY LOCATION is gone. I need that functionality, there is NOTHING in Nougat that makes up for not having this feature. Had I known I would have never let my phone update. In the meantime I located and downloaded "com.sec.android.widgetapp.locationwidget.apk" but it will not install, says "conflicts with a package of the same name". So we know the darn thing is still on the phone - aside from rooting, does anyone have a way to make the install work or make the phone see and use the package that's already there? I was hoping to use the DeBloater by GatesJunior to locate it, but apparently there's no new version for Android 7, and it only sees two packages period. I posted in that original thread to ask if there will be an update.

I would just downgrade back to Marshmallow! To many problems with Android N especially certain apps being gone and the damn battery dying super fast again! I went back to Marshmallow and now I have my 8 hour charge back instead of 3 or 4 hours on Nougat!

Is build prop no longer able to fool the play store?

I have a device on actual 5.1.1, and a device fooled to 5.1.1 which is actually 4.0.4 (I know, they're both older)
The real 5.1.1 has much more in the way of updates on the play store than the fooled one. When I had first played with build prop it did work quite well in letting me install a game I wanted to keep using. Now I went in to try and download Zedge, the fooled one is saying incompatible while the real 5.1.1 downloaded the updates no issues. So.... What's the new fix?
To go into about phone, both say 5.1.1
Anyone know the latest workaround? I tried transferring the apk from one to the other, but "there was an issue parsing this package" or something to that effect, on my older device...
I'm hanging onto the older one for both physical size and preferred more basic operation. My real 5.1.1 I use as a tablet as it's just too wide for my hands for frequent ambidextrous swipe texting. The odd typing that isn't time sensitive I don't mind my larger device, but for everyday conversation use I much prefer my older smaller model. I love Samsung, wish they still made mini models. Now they're forcing the edge too... I know I'm in the rare few but I enjoy touchwiz too. (Just for those who will want to say just get a new phone, I've covered all the bases lol)
