Can any Llama users advise on how to use Llama to disable pattern lock when I am in "home" area ?
does this require root ?
I added the action "disable screen lock after unlock" when entering "home" area, but the pattern lock is still there.
any other way to achieve this, i just want to keep the pattern lock when outside my safe areas.
thanks
any info from Llama users plz !
seems that using "unlock immediately" option in Llama is working.
the Keyguard unlock option (without notification) through Secure settings also is working.
if notification is on then - when i touch the volume controls while screen is off, then it lights up - which is unnecessary.

i tried and does not work with pattern i think. im N7105 with 4.1.2
i think this is something to do with android o/s.
see this from "unlock with wifi" creator:
http://benhirashima.com/unlockwithwifi/faq/
Why doesn’t UWW support face unlock, or lock patterns?
A: Because there is no official way to turn off face unlock and lock patterns in Android. It can be done for root users, but UWW does not support root operations at this time.
maybe this will works:

thanks for the info.
if not using the password lock, then the keyguard lock can be disabled by Llama at times.
but with password, it only works rarely.
maybe when i get rooted, then i will try this again.
using llama and Secure Settings, confirmed, the pattern lock will gone when im at home (previously just with llama action, doesnt work). but the no pattern lock stays when im in the office, so maybe need to modify others to use secure settings and enabling pattern lock.
now i want to disable the lockscreen completely, so when i press power mine will go straight to main desktop. i think this is possible too.
I use a numerical pin. To disable it, I use the Llama action "Screen Lock Password" and leave it blank for when I connect to my wifi. I have another event so Llama resets the pin to my desired code when I disconnect from my wifi.

I've had this set up on my phone using Llama for well over a year. It's as simple as installing the Secure Settings plugin and using its "Pattern Lock" action within a Llama event. Mine turns on the pattern lock when I get disconnected from my home Wi-Fi network and turns it back off whenever I am in my "Home" area and am connected to my home Wi-Fi network. (I added the area check just to be sure that someone couldn't easily trick Llama into turning off the pattern lock by setting up a Wi-Fi access point with my home network's SSID.)
I am pretty sure that you need to be rooted, though, because toggling the pattern lock is a privileged action. Whenever Secure Settings toggles my pattern lock, I get a "toast" notification saying root privileges were granted to Secure Settings.

that was good tip and it worked with secure setting with locale plugin in llama app
sorry to resurrect this thread (better than posting new i think).
yes i can disable pattern lock (havent try other lock method, i like pattern) when i am connected to home wifi.
but i still need to "swipe" the first screen to go into main desktop screen. is there a way to by pass the first "lock" screen (it says in the bottom "swipe screen to unlock")
using N9005 with Phonesis rom, rooted, at 5.1.1
Hi everyone , I hope someone can help me with this.
I hope there's an app or way to do it.
Basically i want to know whether is possible to lock an app on the lock screen so that it can be used but you can't exit it or use other apps without inserting patter code or lock code.
In this case I would like to be able to have my playlist on the lock scree so that even if some of my friends handles the phone ,they'll be able to scroll through the list of songs and use the music player but won't be able to do anything else unless they unlock the device
is something like this possible?(at the moment there's a small widget at the top of the screen that can be used to pause, next songs etc when the lock screen is on but it doesn't allow to have more access to the app features such as playlist songs etc)
Thank you
any advice ?
Settings > Lockscreen and security > Other security settings > Pin windows.
Thank you so much Giocarro, this is exactly what I am looking for.
However, I have tried to check whether the function is available in tasker and can't seemt o find it.
I would like to aumate this so that when I'm in my car I can automatically get the music player open and pin it to the window using the script.
Are you aware of a way to do this through tasker or by any other method?
Thank you
I don't think it is possible, and I am a Tasker user, too.
The thing you can do is activate Settings app when you launch music app; I use this method to enable GPS when launching Maps.
i turn on gps when I open the map too but opening the setting app doesn't have any relevance here if I'm correct.
The settings to activate pin windows is a one of option.
the way windows are pinned is by pressing the recent button and then press on the pin icon on the bottom right side of the recent window you want to pin
This last stage is a bit annoying if it can't be done without a script, however this option that allows to pin apps is quiet useful.
thank you
Only way I could think of doing what you want would be to use Tasker "Send intent" feature, but I am not a developer so don't know whether there is an 'intent' for pinning the current app or not.
Hi ebverybody,
I was wondering if someone else found how to add widgets on lockscreeen.
I double checked every settings menu tab but didn't manage to find how to enable them. There is not any option for widgets.
If I'm not mistaken, lockscreen widgets is a feature for any kitkat or newer device.
Here are my lockscreen settings
You might try changing "Select screen lock" from "Knock Code" to a non-secure choice. You'll probably see additional choices then. Widgets don't make sense on a screen that's actually locked. The idea is to not allow access to anything but an emergency call if someone finds your phone.
Posted this in the LG section but have since rid of that phone for the S6.
I'm hoping to find a way to disable the lock screen when i'm at home or another trusted area, without the need for unnecessary GPS/Location usage as with what the 'smart lock' option demands. Also, without having to root the device.
On my S4 widgetsoid did this brilliantly right from the notification panel and it would coincide with the device locking features that were set.
For instance. Whenever i was home I'd disable by tapping the padlock icon. Then if i went out I'd just tap it again to enable it. If I forgot to enable it, the set time limit for the locking options would take control and eventually automatically lock the device on it's own.
Is there anything available like this? Widgetsoid needs system access for this feature to work now.
Prevent instant lockscreen activation (Bring back "automatically lock after timeout")
Premise:
I moved from LineageOS to MIUI 11 since a couple of months and I was immediately bothered by having to unlock my phone every time, even if I used it one minute ago. I have face recognition and the fingerprint sensor is fast, but that doesen't help (trusted networks/devices neither in my case). Apparently, there is no option to lock the screen after a period of inactivity and the typical "solution" I've seen around was just disabling the lockscreen or using a third-party one.
So, after a bit of search I found an alternative, quite simple and yet a bit hidden.
It requires CustoMIUIzer (so yes, root, possibly with Magisk, and the EdXposed module) and Tasker.
In CustoMIUIzer you should go in System > Lock screen > Disable screen lock and select "Enable mod". If in the settings below you select "Disable completely" in "Disable screen lock" menu and turn on "Skip lock screen", when you will turn off and on your screen you will see that the lockscreen doesn't appear. You can put it back to "System default" but leave "Skip lock screen" enabled.
Now let's make this easier with Tasker, that has a plugin for CustoMIUIzer. The simplest way is making a button or shortcut in your launcher that you would press to disable and enable lockscreen manually when you want, without going everytime in CustoMIUIzer. The other way is automating the process with a couple of profiles (and tasks): the first one will trigger on display unlock, disable lockscreen and set a time (eg. 10min later) when the second one will trigger and enable lockscreen again. The second task could also be used to lock the screen manually.
For simplicity, I'll attach my files and screenshots. That's not necessarily the best setting, but it works well. I set the timeout to 10 minutes (in "lockOff", %TIMES+60*10). The task that disables lock ("lockOff") creates a toast notification when you turn on the screen, so you can remove the last three actions if everithing is working. Both profiles have to be active. Make sure that Tasker won't be killed by MIUI or battery savers, maybe lock it in recent apps.
