Does anyone else experience lag or hanging with the market when installing or uninstalling apps? My phone seems to be totally unresponsive for like 3-5+ seconds when this happens.
I'm currently using Thiaiz2.6 but I have experienced this on multiple roms except stock.
Any insight on this?
I think this may be on all roms. Probably something to do with LGs lame ram management system. I am using an Acura rom and have the same lags.

I have had a problem recently where several games seems to freeze up my device and causes it to restart. Usually happens on exiting a game or if the screen happens to turn off. Has happened with me so far to Nova 2, star dunk, and a few other apps I can't think of at the moment. Anything similar happening to anyone else?
I'm running the stock rom (after flashing from Gummycharged about a week ago). Any insight?
If you could please. lil more information. Whats is currently changed on your phone. (sdcard, settings, kernel, etc)
check your memory and let us know what memory phone and sdcard you have.
Hi.
I'm on the stock gingerbread. Have root, v6 supercharger script etc. Working on stock ROM and lg Launcher.
I'm wondering what these lines :
" hs.systemserver=64m
hs.com.lge.launcher2=64m "
In /system/build.prop means, and what effect it can do. I reduced heapsize from 64mb to 36mb to avoid freezes during a heavy multitasking. I use multitasking option in supercharger script. I use some background apps, and there is annoying freezing, and phone is not responding like if a ram policy was bad. It happens under the heavy usage, while using heavy apps (more than one) Phone sometimes reboots during this long freezes, and sometimes after long time wakes up with a screen that some app is not responding (then I kill it and phone is fine)
Can I delete these lines in build.prop ? And do it help in anything?
What else I can do?
Do anybody have an idea why stock GB ROM lags from time to time, and these lags are quite long if happen.
The reason I don't want to change to a custom ROM is that I want to have some things that are stock (dialer, lock screen, notification bar etc.) I would change if they work on miui, or cm7 became stable..
My stock gb rom is fast and not laggy so it's probably an app in background hogging up cpu or ram. Try using a task manager to stop apps you don't need from auto starting and then reboot.
If you are rooted you can also stop lg bloatware from running too.

Yep, i'm working on it, stopping a bloatware, using different Launcher, and uninstalling unnecessary and possible lagging apps.
But, i'm afraid that either there are some malfunctions in the stock software, or I have this occasional lags and memory issues because I didn't do a wipe after the update from 2.2 to 2.3...
No person with such issues that sometimes an app is not responding and Android hangs, lags, not responing, and reboots ?
I must check deeper my problem... Maybe too many apps installed and running in the background...? I will check.. Cause it annoys me quite a bit.
I didn't do a wipe but when I did a factory reset things improved a lot except battery issue which is sorted now so maybe try that option?

As far as I know to Wipe means a factory reset, so I think its the same thing.
You tell that the battery issue is being sorted out by LG itself,.or you mean that there is a solution here on xda forum? Any help will be appreciated. My battery life is fine but reading the battery usage is really messed up on every GB ROM I think. That is what they should work on..
Howdy. I've had my Skyrocket now for a few weeks and loving it (previous Iphone owner). One issue though..
Sometimes when I close an app the desktop doesn't show any widgets/icons for about maybe 5 seconds then they come back. Not end of the world I guess but annoying.
Any way to fix that? Maybe it's something to do with memory management?
I'm using standard ROM, I rooted to remove all the bloatware and running JuiceDefender. I tried disabling juicedefender but I still get it.
I have four pages on my desktop, nothing too fancy, some icons, some widgets.
Thanks
Eckythump
Which launcher are you using? I recommend freezing juice defender in an app like titanium backup and rebooting phone. If problem persists, it's something else. But if you're running stock rom I'm fairly certain its JD
Tried a couple of different ROMS out there, and I'm still getting frequent pausing, temporary locking up on my Gtab when trying to open apps. Am I rushing the poor old guy!? Usually it starts responding again before I even hit "wait" but the frequent pop-up when it slows is really getting to me. Anyone experiencing anything similar? Any good fixes???

What roms are you using? I had this issue with the last dirty bean but get it much less if at all with the 120dpi smoothbean. You can change the governor settins under settings/performance/processor as well as limit background processes to 2/1 that seems to help. I laso turn off sync on gmail which helps.

1. Try Advanced Task Killer and hit the widget button to nuke the memory hogs. There is
a lot of people who dont recommend task killing as a solution, but it seems to get me past the
force closes.
2. Try an old froyo rom like Vegan or TNT Lite 4.4

Recently I was having similar problems with the gtablet slowing down a lot, so I started uninstalling some of my apps.
I had about 220 apps with Application Storage at 212MB free. I messed some uninstall and got into a boot loop.
At which point I did a factory reset. The factory reset ROM was a lot faster. So when I restored my apps and settings
froim Titanium backup, I restored about 120 of them with Application Free Storage at about 700 MB now.
All the slowness of apps and market have gone away.
So I would say if you see a lot of Force Closes or hangs especially during Market Update, considering cutting
down on the number of apps you have. The key metric to see if you are getting full is the
Settings->Storage->Tablet Storage->Application Storage (for Froyo ROMs)

I've been trying to diagnose this issue for a long time now, but haven't got any closer to a conclusion.
As the title says, my problem is that the phone is a lot of the time very slow in simple tasks like launching an app or performing a certain activity. I also find it freezing a lot, and it's really annoying, almost unusable.
Sometimes, the UI is very responsive and smooth, but most of the time it's the complete opposite. I started to notice this with Facebook's Messenger app, but I found that it's not the actual cause.
So I analyzed the CPU and RAM, both of which seem to not be the issue. And then I decided to test the Disk R/W speeds, and found that doing even very simple tasks or even not doing anything at all gets the disk read speeds to 100%. That's the most logical explanation to this that I could get to.
I did factory reset, clean flashed a new ROM, and all that aswell.
Does anyone have this problem and is there a solution?
Theres really not much to do. The phone is getting older and 2gb of ram(assuming you have 2gb model) is not the best in 2017. The real problem is unoptimized apps like facebook,mesenger,snapchat... The fix would be to go back to miui because it never keeps apps running in the background. I do to myself encounter this problem with any AOSP based rom. You can try clearing cache and dalvik.

Does LOS' option in developer options to not keep any app running in background work in the same way? Do push notifications function then?

You can try, never tried it myself. Probably same as miui and you probably will lose notifications, thats whats good about miui, it starts app every so to get notifications.
