Help! Changing theme on MIUI V4 - Galaxy 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello i can´t change themes on MIUI V4 Rom .I downloaded a theme over the Themechanger and when i would apply it it dosen´t work (at 2% stops).
I make a folder data/system/theme and copy the theme in it.
Anybody an idea???

You don't need to copy the theme into that folder. Just make the 'theme' folder in data/system. Then go to the theme changer app and apply the theme. If the problem still persists then reboot to recovery and wipe data or just re-flash

Hello i flashed again and wipe data, create "theme" folder in data/system but i can´t apply any theme i downloaded with themechanger.

Making that folder in data/system fixed the theme problem for me on my skyrocket. Thanks.

or open ur rom and creat folder data/system/theme

Installing theme in MIUI

Seems easy enough but I must be doing something wrong.
I download the zip file, copy it to the MIUI/Themes folder on the SD card, go to Theme Manager, choose Import Theme, the select the zip file.
Nothing happens when I do that. Just takes me back to the Theme manager-Choose Theme screen.
Just read in the MIUI thread where the latest build doesn't support theme changing, they are working on it.
Actually it does support theme changes you have to change file extension to mtz and instal using the built in file explorer not theme manager. Worked for me

That worked for me to the only problem that i am having is that everything themes EXCEPT for the messaging app for some reason?
I have been able to use some themes but not others, so do you change the zip file to mtz or do you unzip it first?

Just change the file extension and instal via the miui file explorer.

[Q] editing miui theme and getting error

hello,
i was trying to edit the miui theme according to my liking
this is what i did
i took the existing theme , extracted it.various folders are created which are present in the theme
i go to com.android.systemui , i made my changes and i re-zip them, and since now it has zip format and i rename them to com.android.systemui and now i select all the folders in the parent theme folder and re-zip them, change the format back to mtz . i get error in theme manager
i tried to be as clear as possible. sorry for being horrible here.
so basically i want to know how i can rezip android.systemui and the main theme folder back after editing without errors?
any help ?
thanks for your time
I THINK they've change the whole theming thing after 1.7.8.
But i'm far from sure since i haven't made any themes since 1.6.xx.

Does this work on ifused v2.0
sent from my Infused goodness
Yea it does, it is what I am running it on. If you want to install it just follow these steps.
Make sure you back up your framework-res.apk, systemUI.apk, and twframework-res.apk. Just copy them to your computer, sd card, or whatever you choose. You can find these apk in system/framework folder and the other in system/app folder using root explorer or es explorer. This is just a safety precaution so that you have the original files. I have already installed two different uot kitchen zip files and not had any problems.
Put zip file onto your sd card.
Boot into recovery. (CWM)
Go to advanced- and clear dalvik cache (just in case).
Go back and choose install zip from sd card.
Let it run its course and then choose reboot after it installs.
Why is it say 3g
NightMare Infuse
No idea..it was the icon package I used. It is in there...why it isn't showing up is beyond me. I'll look into it.
how do you disable the theme?

Just reflash your current ROM on top of your setup without wiping anything to get back to stock.

[request]stock gb theme

With all the themes we have now it's easy for our phones to become a mess...
Is it possible to have the stock gingerbread theme with all original apps to flash? It would be really nice
I do agree

Really need this. +1
You can do this yourself. Just download the deodexed stock XXKPH files from this thread and copy the required apps to phone using any root explorer.

Please post such requests in Q and A section.
For return to stock theme u must backup whole system folder as a backup for safety. Because theme contains modified files which replaces files only from system folder.
Whenever u will open any theme u will always see two main folder name as META-INF and system folder. META-INF is folder is very important to flash the theme in phone.
Suppose u flashed u clear glass sl theme and after sometime u want to return to stock theme here is procedure.
1. Always take a backup of ur original whole system folder before flashing theme.
2. Take a copy of any theme such as clear glass sl theme on computer.
3. open that theme using any zip software.
4. Now delete the system folder from that theme. Never delete META-INF folder from that.
5. Now copy ur original whole system folder in place of deleted system folder.
6. Thats it. The new zip theme file will contain whole stock files.
7. Go into recovery and flash it. You will get ur original look.

Just download deodexed XXKPH system files from here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1191911
Click on "Download Deodexed System Files [COMPLETE XXKPH]" and you will download a file "xUltimate Deodex XXKPH.rar" which contains all deodexed system folders /app and /framework.
Yeah, I need this too to get my UI themes & APKs back to normal UI since I have usually flashed / changed my stock xxkph with some different themes....
I tryed copy all those files in the framework and app folder but it doesn't work... the phone looks normal but it then hangs random reboot and stuff like that.. I did a factory reset and... the theme I installed came back from nothing!
My usb is broken and I cant reflash so I'm pretty screwed without a stock theme to flash back
working on a stock theme with features like crt effect and 5 lockscreen and 6 toggles or 7 toggles and overglow scroll

ICS ROM how to change fonts?

Question anyone using ICS roms. I have a question i used to use Font changer or font installer to change fonts for Gingerbread roms. For some reason this wont change anymore. It seems it is defaulted to roboto ttf files. I tried to change in system file but still no luck. If i change roboto fonts and replace my phone bricks.. Anyone knows how to change the fonts on ics? Thx
wanna now to
Is there anyone?
Have you tried to create a flashable zip for your fonts? Take a look @ /system/fonts/ and change the fonts you wanna change (DroidSans.ttf and DroidSans-Bold.ttf for example)
On your computer or laptop create a folder for /system/fonts/ and put your fonts there, renamed to reflect the fonts you wanna change. Then zip up the system folder along with a compatible META-INF folder with correct updater-script and update-binary and you should be good. Flash your newly created zip in recovery

I do not know how to make a flashable zip file.. But i did play around with my own. I used font installer and did the following. changed the DroidSans.ttf and DroidSans-Bold.ttf. Changing those two didnt help but i checked mark on the Roboto-Regular.ttf and did the change. Yes, that did change my fonts but When i change the Roboto-Bold.ttf. My phone won't start it it will just not boot up. So only checked roboto-regular, DroidSans-bold and DroidSans and it worked. I think something to do with the bold fonts in ICS. Not sure... Wish i could try if i know how to make the flashable zip... Thx Maybe ill do some research and find out..
