Did you make a nand backup right after you rooted?

What software upgrade are you looking for? Sounds like you could just download a stock rom from the skyrocket dev section and flash that.

Software update feature that gets left behind in roms is just there because it wasn't removed it has no functionality.... If you're only looking to upgrade then just change Roms

Seems like the obvious fix is to install a skyrocket 727 ROM or flash the correct att modem and kernel set on the ROM you're using

The first thing you're supposed to do is a backup as soon as you root. Anyways, there are stock zips and odins you can flash to get back to stock, or you can just flash the ucla or kj2 modem and whatever rom you are wanting.

I'm not aware of a non-rooted stock KD1. I think people are trying to get one built for those that want stock Froyo.
Given that you're sending it in for a repair, I'd suggest installing the stock 2.3.6 (KJ6) as it's a Samsung official release. Once you get it back you can go back to KD1 with root.
Thank you.

Try this:
[ROM][CWM] T959VUVKD1 - Deodexed FIXED [6/9/2011]
Modems [KB5,KC1,KD1,KF1,KF2]
EDIT: You can unroot using SuperOneClick -- Though I have not tried it myself.
Here is another thread: Flashing back to KD1 with good information in it.

I didn't realize you could unroot with it. Good info; thanks
I don't think you can unroot ROMs that were made.pre-rooted by just using SOC. I tried it before on a ROM (can't remember which) and it failed.
EDIT: If you didn't flash that file for root and instead rooted it with SOC previously, you can still unroot it.
If someone could be so kind to upload a Odin Stock KD1 without root, it would help solve some of these Froyo questions

See if this works: [ROM][STOCK UVKD1 - FLASHABLE] T959VUVKD1 Zip File

Here's a site I found useful. samfirmware.com. I used it to return both my Vibrant and SGS4G to stock using Odin.
Hope this can help someone.

This link I posted above - [ROM][STOCK UVKD1 - FLASHABLE] T959VUVKD1 Zip File - is the same file and was taken off of the samfirmware.com website.
Samfirmware.com doesn't have the files on their site anymore. They are SamMobile.com now.

Did you check Sammobile?

The only stock ODIN currently available for the SR is I727UCKJ2, which is 2.3.5. If you flash that the phone should OTA to 2.3.6 within a few days.

Here is the link to a stock 2.3.5 odin tar from sammmobile i used it and everything is fine. After restoring and letting the phone cool down for a while you should be able to OTA update to 2.3.6

Official Rogers ICS upgrade to Skyrocket has arrived - I just got it!

This morning I plugged my phone into Kies and was informed a firmware upgrade was available. I proceeded with the upgrade and how have ice cream sandwich on my phone. I have taken some pictures, which I will try to attach.
Here are a couple of pictures to prove it.
Anyone else?

Make sure you have the latest superuser.zip and you have to flash it a few times.
I am in Kies and my current firmware is PDA:KJ7/PHONE:LE2/CSC:KJ7 (RWC) and if I click on Firmware Upgrade and Initialization I get a message saying SGH-I727R does not support initializing.
Am I doing something wrong? Can you get the update from Kies if your phone is root?
Thanks.
What is the build date of this Rogers ICS update?
If I'm on a ROM can I just go ahead and update via keis? Or so I have to reinstall an official build first?
Really not sure I want to revert back to TouchWiz from SKY ICS though, any comments on the Rogers build?
could someone grab the radio from this and make cwm flashable please ?

Yeah I just unrooted my phone assuming that at least 4.0.4 would look good. TouchWiz makes everything EXTREMELY slow and ugly. ugh.
Is it a tar file to be used with Odin. I see there is no i727r specific "how to file"(flash guide) on sammobile.
Yes, it's meant to be flashed with ODIN.
Just flashed it via Kies, had to use ODIN by flashing stock, Odin wouldn't work till I rebooted my computer, then once Kies updated, I had had a error ( com.Android.phone stopped) but I cleared data and cache in 3e, then everything worked.

I would use the Sammobile ICS stock tar for at&t when it comes out rather than using Kies ... In this case I would clean the hell out of the device before flashing it ... When I had Nexus S and ICS came out , it was running much faster after wipes and full install than OTA ...

Odin Back to Stock Issue

Ok...I want to update to ICS but idk what's wrong wit my Odin. I downloaded everything I needed when I first got the phone and I got it from....http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1591601
[HOWTO][TAR][BLAZE 4G] THE ODIN THREAD :: Return to stock, fix soft brick :: 4/9/12...now when I use to return to stock it worked perfectly. Now when I need it the most its not. When I click on PDA and go to the folder with the TAR file is located...its not there. Well..its there...just Odin doesn't pick up on it I guess. Anybody know what's going on?

How can i get rid of the custom Binary thing? I also testing my charge with Skyrocket app and it says slow charge. Its taking forever to charge with ICS. Im thinking I need to Odin to stock again, but dont really know how. Plus I dont want to wait another hour and a half to update ICS thru Kies again. Can i just flash the ICS version thru Odin with the blaze pit? Im hoping that would fix the awful battery life im getting too.

I'm running rooted stock ICS just like you, and have custom binary as well. I think having custom is normal. Before upgrading to ICS, it was Samsung Official, though.

It likely comes from the custom recovery.bin - i.e. CWM recovery. It'll go away if you flash/Odin a stock variant.

I'm seeing that people are having problems flashing the ICS tar in odin so I'm weary of doing anything until there's a guide. And kies asked for a code so that wouldn't work
