devs are already on it in development section. It should be as simple as changing the ramdisk but there could be many more issues.

some of the guys are working on it in This thread.
It currently boots, however is not working as an actual recovery at this point.
you can try flashing it, but do not use it to make any backups or flash roms.
There is a modified version floating around the forums that has touch CWM working for G2X 5.8.1.3. I have backed up and restored and it gave no problems.

dont go flashing that just yet... still not 100%
mount points are screwed up, so while it might look and act working, you might be restoring your dalvik cache to /system...
just hang on a bit longer, Rusty is getting close, but he can only do so much on his own without a g2x to test it himself.

is this legit?
Yes it is legit.
Thanks noob!
Why would he post something that isn't real?
Woo ... here we go!
Hope this isn't a dumb question, but I will take my chances...
Can this be flashed with any of the froyo roms that are out right now?
Like to I need to be on a rom that is based on DK05?
wooh! nice, will we get the rest of dk17?
I realize noobnl is pretty much a genius around here, but can we get some type of description or instructions on this? One would assume this is for 2.2 but I don't really feel like assuming anything when I could potentially brick my phone.
Yes it is for 2.2
Sheesh, Noobnl! You develop like the wind. I remember the Moment days, oh how I'm glad I upgraded to the Epic!
On topic: I may be behind the times a bit, but could someone please explain what dk17 fixes or does better than, say DK05? Just curious. Thanks XDA devs, you all do a fantastic job!

Hey guys I finally just rooted my Inspire. Can I flash CM7 and use the Telus kernel to get sound back? Thanks to all, sorry if this is a noob question
Nope. No CM7 or MIUI until source is released. Neither will work without an AOSP kernel, for which source code is required.

Alright thanks for the quick reply
The great thing is once we get source it shouldn't be an issue at all, and by that time cm7 may be past RC stage and into final!

Care to elaborate?
New to this stuff....
I recently successfully installed Infused 2.1.0 after pulling my hair and running into weird issues along the way, like boot loops etc (learning... slowly).
I love to tweak things and ran across this GB tweak here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1236779
The dumb question part is how the heck do I "flash" that into my device? I was thinking that I need to go into CWM recovery thingy with the red letters during post and I remember seeing an option to install a .zip. Now I was either thinking that or either I need to use SGS Kernel to flash it?
Sorry for the nubby Q but I'm sooo confused here.

Stock with that CWM kernel from the Infused post, you think overclocking it to 1.6Ghz 24/7 is fine using infusion?
And another dumb Q while you here (lol) but I can safely use different kernels (as long as they're made for the device) and re-flash via SGS?

Welcome, you're in the right place with your device. So, every ROM found in the dev section is indeed compatible with your phone.
As for start, you wanna have a failsafe recovery on your device. You will able to use it to backup/restore/flash, etc.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1056847
Once it is sorted, make a backup of your wind ROM, then head to the development section and choose your flavor of ROM.
If it is for the wife, I suggest pass on the ICS ROMs as for now.
Edit:
The most stable ROM is so subjective. There are a couple of thread asking the same question, read trough those please to get an idea.
There's also a thread called Wind mobile G2X users unite with some useful advice.
Good luck!

Development for MIUI skyrocket has been started by 0xD34D.
Please assist him by testing and giving logcats of any issues you have.
His name is lithium76 here on xda.
HOW TO INSTALL:
1. Place zip on root of SD card.
2. Boot into cwm, take a nandroid.
3. Wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache.
-----3a. Or use darkside wipe.
4. Install zip from SD.
5. Reboot system. Enjoy
NOTES:
This has most of the same bugs our aokp R1 had and maybe a few other small bugs.
To fix reboot menu. After initial boot let rom settle for 5mins, manually boot into recovery, wipe cache/dalvik. Reboot system.
