I've just installed dark knight 4.0.4 on my good old captivate phone but with all this new stuff that I've put on my phone ( I came from an old froyo soft) and new on this android era, I just want to know what is glitch that everybody is talking about? Do I need it? What is its function?

I think the same !!!!
Also http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Glitch
Thanks for those answers, well I just get one of it into my ICS'd phone but really don't know how it work, well I might have an idea now
What is Glitch
Glitch is a GREAT Kernel. I ran it on my Captivate Until Dark Knights 4.0.4. I don't think it is developed for that rom yet. Otherwise it is top notch.
If you are using glitch, get the NStools from Android Market so you can over clock and play with BML, power, and the like...

So far in my experience with all the custom roms, ive found that the stock kd1 deodexed rom is best. Although quadrant scores arent best i can deal with this roms cpu. Like i dont see any big changes from OC'ing the phone and 1.0 ghz. And you can still do all the tweaks, butbthe theme seems more best for me. I love bionix frost, and the trigger 0.4. Theyre clean and stable. But i always have the urge to go back to stock.
Am i the only one here, or like whats the best set up with a rom?

I agree i flashed 2.3.3 played with it about 10 mins later founx myself back to stock
Sent from my SGH-T959V using XDA Premium App
At this point, I prefer stock, as I haven't seen any themes that I really like. I would like to make something using touchwiz, but without all the bright text colors and menu icons. Not as desaturated as black ice though, something in between.
I'd build one, but I can't seem to get APK manager to work correctly. or at least I can't figure out how to point it to the correct location of the adb program in the SDK
Thanks for your agreements guys! Lol i felt like i was loner...
Sent from my SGH-T959V using XDA App
I will say, I am on Black Ice, Bali v3.2 with fugi tweaks and OC 1.25 GHz, and ext 4 on data only. I notice a huge difference in respone compared without any modding. Now I will say most of that is due to the tweaks and OC and not the ROM, but I would still say a little is due to the ROM since it removes some of the bloat that comes with the stock.
Although, I will admit I added TeleNav back on since Black Ice takes it out since it is such a large app. I don't care for google map directions as much.
I'm running the stock rom + root and deodexed from whitehawkx though, so I was able to remove a ton of the bloatware, and add a few apps to tweak performance, so it has been running great for me, and I'm getting great battery life (nearly 48hrs).
I did remove telenav, only because it launches a background process that runs all the time, even when you aren't using the program.
Oh i didnt oit any tweaks on mine yet! Lol i just like the feeling of stock.

I did a clean install of Weapon. Rebooted and let it sit for 10 minutes. Rebooted again and let it sit. Then I flash New Clip and let it sit for a bit. New Clip flashes over Weapon. Then I flashed my favorite theme. Stayed with the kernel that comes with it. I have never had great luck with alternative kernels and I really have no need for overclocking.
Kwes has an ICS like theme that looks great. Then I added ADW ex and loaded an ICS theme for it. I am very happy with the setup. Been running it this way for several months.
I have been playing around with the V6 Super Charger script but for whatever reason I seem to run out of memory faster when web surfing. I am still learning about everything it does, so I am not 100% sure that it is set up correctly for my needs.

Using latest version of Eaglesblood with faux kernel. It's stable, and battery life is awesome. I'm not into ROM swapping. When find one that works, I stick with it, and it's looking like I'll be with this one for a while. Maybe when an ICS ROM gets refined, I'll give it a go. I would like to have Chrome on the android.
Using CM 7.2 RC1 with faux ds kernel. I get about thirteen hours of medium use, light use lasts a couple of days.
It's a great stock rom without the problems of LG based ones.

Im currently rocking...The latest and greatest... seriously Sooo many INCREDIBLE roms to choose from its hard to keep still. however... i recently gave miui (singh)another shot just for fun and am currently hooked. AMAZED at the smoothness and utter sexiness of the theme engine and GIGANTIC selection of themes. This will definetly keep my interest for some time! the ui is different and fun too. Only Con so far is the normal CM7 quirk (upside down video chat), nothing too big to keep me from rockin it for a while.

Actually looks fine. But I notice more stutter than before, perhaps the ICS animation is bogging it some down.
Still a fan of CM7/Cm9.
I can honestly say, I'm sticking to the G2X despite having a Galaxy GS2. I truely enjoy the Cyanogen ROMS and can't wait for it to come CM9 on G2X and GS2
Also that Samsung is too big. Should have waited. Not sure I'll get any device over 4 inch screen. But thats me

Nobody can tell you which Kernel will work best for whatever ROM you wish to use it for because even though we have the 'same' phone, they are not all equally built. What may work with amazing battery life and performance to one person, might be terribly sluggish with terrible battery life for the next person. The only real way to tell which ROM+Kernel combo works best for your phone is to try every Kernel you think your phone 'likes'. Whether we all want to admit it or not, that is probably the best way.
Hope this helped, Good luck!

Are there any kernels that work with CM7.2 RC1 that both allow for OC/(UV) and don't completely break the accellerometer?
I have tried Trinity and Faux. I would really like to get back to ridiculous battery life from this extended battery pack.

I recently installed the Trinity Kernel and I don't really feel like I see a difference in my phone. I feel like my battery has shown no improvement. I installed the ti5 one but maybe I'll try the ELP one instead to see if I get anything different. I'm really looking for longer battery life. I used the phone theses days for about 30min of music a day (subway ride) and browsing here and there. Turned all syncing and app notifications off.
Check out the attached photos. I've seen screenshots of people with bar graphs showing their device at the top way ahead of everyone else.

mhl doesnt work in aosp on any samsung yet. if it makes it to the i9100 then entropy will try his best to port it to the infuse im sure. i think the skyrocket and i9100 also have bt issues on the ics roms.
if you want a phone with everything working ans are partial to samsung get a galaxy s. either a vibrant or a i9000 or captivate. the bt chip is different in the sgs and they are fully functional. if you want hdmi you need to switch to a different manufacturer. htc maybe. but i dont know for sure.
I don't know about you guy's, but i have been using Infused v2.2.3 with the blue Infusion V2 them as my daily driver for close to a year now. It has been rock solid right from the get go with everything working great, including bluetooth.
More recently i have updated the kernel to Infusion-Z which also adds HDMI-MHL video output capability. So with literally everything working perfectly and rock stable performance, there really is no need for me to keep flashing other ROMS.

I find that most ROM's try to distinguish themselves with themes and new lockscreens or task bars etc. I have found that the most important thing to me personally was a rooted rock solid base ROM where all functionality works all the time. The rest can be added individually such as ICS themes, wallpaper, custom lock screens, over clock, underclock etc to suit performance and battery life tastes.
Every month or so i get my feet wet with another ROM flash just for fun. However i always keep coming back. At the end of the day, all i really want is everything working reliably as it was intended when i need it.

To be perfectly honest, I haven't tried Codename-- yet-- because I'm already happy with the Nexus Beam ROM.
It has decent WiFi strength & solid battery performance.
I might give the other a try-- if I get bored with Nexus-- but I certainly don't feel like I NEED to do it any time soon.
Codename is prettier than Nexus Beam and also SEEMS faster and smoother, but both are slower than GB. I think whoever programmed ICS put kludge routines in the kernel to induce people to buy faster phones. NOT OUR DEVS! some technicians at Google, I suppose. Hint though -- kernel needs overclocking added.
Notes about 'awake' time between these 2 roms:
Codename build-1 kept 'awake' all the time, Beam pre-final is better, but still on and off for 'awake', longer for 'on' than 'off'. Codename build-2&3 got into deep sleep with no 'awake'. So, in terms of battery performance, recommend to go with Codename build-3, also better than other ics roms.
PS phone condition for the comparison: during the night time, wifi off, data off, airplane mode off.
Trying out code name to see how it runs

No - it's apparently so secret that you don't know about it.
I was kidding about running that ROM at the moment, but it was the Froyo ROM I used the most until we finally got the KJ6 drop and the custom roms that came with it. It was so smooth and looked so good, I couldn't get enough of it.
