Yea, I would partition your SD card and flash a A2SD compatible ROM like Supreme Sense
Here is how to partition (Taken straight from the Supreme Sense OP)
**HOW TO PARTITION YOUR SDCARD**
1.Backup sdcard to pc
2.Reboot to recovery
3.Go to advanced
4.Go to partition sdcard
5.choose ext size(512mb is sufficient)
6.swap 0m
7.Reboot and restore SDcard

Whenever you follow the directions and partition you will get a step to set your "swap size" the instructions are just telling you to set it to "0m" or 0 megs, which SHOULD be default but it depends on what recovery you use.
BTW MikShifted G v2.1 is also A2SD capable now.
To enable :
adb remount
adb shell
a2sd reinstall
It's in th OP for MikShifted G v2.1
I run those cmds in adb? If so what about wireless adb?

Wow . Ummm no. I think you need to get a little more information on A2SD. You should maybe read THIS, and check out the info HERE. A little more HERE, and more in THIS post. Now remember as with everything you read, take it with a grain of salt.

Yeah I don't think so. Unless your a wipe feind where you'll be constantly wiping and restoring apps to your ext partition. It also depends on the brand of your sdcard. I've had my 16GB sandisk for over a year now with no issues and have been using apps2ext the entire time. I've gotton away with just wiping cache and dalvik-cache a ton of times with no issues at all. The only issue I did ever have was with using a swap partition. Now that did start to burn out my sdcard pretty fast and caused me a lot of issues which is why I stoped using it

Question. My girlfriends shift (not rooted) is low on space. Could I partition her card for apps. Do apps2sd need root access? The phone has an option to move them but if its fat32 how could it work.

I've been rocking it this evening and it's pretty cool. It is particularly refreshing not to have to jump through hoops when restoring an EXT4 file system that gets downgraded with CWM by default to EXT3. Props to the dev of this. This is great work.
I'm rocking 4EXT right now. Very convenient. Ask the features of CWM with the added benefits of everything else

I did that to my ROM that was supposed to be EXT4 but was using a Nandroid so it was "downgraded" to EXT3. Didn't have any issues at all, but the ROM I'm running is supposed to be EXT4. Check your ROM dev's stats and see what file system the cache is supposed to be is one suggestion.
Converted cache fine on ninja 0716

You're welcome. I was just over in the Desire threads poking sticks in the bushes and ran across this. I've been flashing stuff...just so I can use it . No errors at all for me, and reformatting my partitions to the file systems they should be is a snap.
I just installed it a little bit ago. I've only been rooted for a few days and don't 100% know what I'm doing yet, but it installed without a hitch and seems cool. I'm trying to change the theme on mine, but it's not working exactly as planned.
Just install the zip file through recovery and depending on which version you are using you will either have to reboot the phone back into recovery to see the changes or if you are on 2.11b it will reboot for you.

I think any version will reboot its self as long as the person who made the theme set it up.to do so.

Yeah just download the theme to your SD card, do not unzip. Boot into recovery and then select instal from SD card, find file and click yes. It will reboot back into recovery and then your good to go!

Whoa, dude. That's WAY too big. I am working on my 1st rom with the help of some of the devs around here. I can assure you that ain't gonna work. You will run out of memory too fast even with apps2sd. Simple is best. Remove all the bloatware. Compress all your apk's as much as you can. Test the rom for a day or so, if things are acting funny try to reduce your compression. Otherwise, keep it as slim as possible, that way if people screw up their phones from too little memory, you aren't to blame. Just a heads up.

Good idea. Be careful though, this only helps so much and some stuff gets broken when you use this method. I totally think apps2sd is the way to go, but be cautious. Good luck, brother.

OP on themikmik.com
I recently sold my phone, I had it rooted and had clockworkmod installed and everything. I was rushing because the guy was on his way so I threw a new ROM on it (Hellfire 2.3 I believe) and deleted all the other files on the sd card (cwm, data, dcim, media, etc.) so no files were left on it. When I took the sim card out the phone would freeze and not respond. I put it back in and gave it to him. He called me back saying the volume doesn't work and when he tried to call he cant hear the other person. Any help ?
