So ever since I lost root on Christmas day, literally got the update that broke razorclaw root about an hour after I rooted , I've been reading and searching and trying and reading some more.
Finally I'm admitting defeat. I am just unable to accomplish rooting my tf101 using vipermod on my Ubuntu machine. I'm not great at Linux and so afraid of messing up my tf.
So my question is this, is there anyone really patient and know Linux very well that can walk me through rooting using vipermod on Ubuntu?

Just to add ... I'm not real dumb. With suggestions and a little help I can find my way around.
I just printed out how to get advanced working on Ubuntu so I'll try to follow this tutorial tonight and hope I have better luck

Yes: Option 1 if on ICS Option 3 if on HC
Let me know if it works so I can stop searching for an alternative for your MAC.

Yes you can use that method. I used the files/instructions in that thread to install Ubuntu before, but I didn't think it was very good in vnc so deleted it.

I have been looking for a way to root my droid pro since i got it. I am having problems on other forums.
Is there a wiki or a thread that somebody can direct me to that will show me how to downgrade to another android version and root my phone upgrade the version and keep root?
I am not asking for a one click method or anything lazy like that i will spend 3 hours typing commands into terminal on unix if that is what it takes to root my phone.
Even if the guaranteed method you point me to has a 95% chance of bricking my phone i will still try it i am determined to get this thing rooted.

hey guys I've done research on the subject. I'm using ginger bread 2.3.6 it was already on the phone when it came to me tmobile sent it as an exchange my first sgs had a broken usb port, couldn't root... I'd just like some suggestions for getting it rooted. I'm also confused on how cwm is installed an how to install the drivers I have read an read I'm just not sure what method works best I've been using an hd 2 for over a year so flashing roms an stuff not new to me this is actually my first true android phone so I thought I'd see what the experts have to say thanks in advance...

I have a Gateway E-265M and it is messed up and cannot find an operating system on the hard disk so I made a bootable flash drive that has Ubuntu 12.10 but when I install it the WiFi never works. I have tried searching around on Google but nothing has helped. Please someone with a lot of knowledge on Linux help me!
