is there any way to do some kind of restore?

I believe it s because it mounts the sd card and internal memory backwards or slightly different Go to titanium backup and hit settings and locate the other location. Ones emmc and other is internal sdcard.

You use file browser and swap titanium file from internal to exrernal cm roms integrate a2sd i believe that's the reasoning

[Q] Backing up apps in Link2SD before flashing new ROM

Do you need to back up apps found in link2sd with titanium backup if you want to restore it after flashing a new rom?? I mean its already in the sd card so do i need to back it up? Any help would be appreciated!!
Yes, you still need to back up your apps. The files in the 2nd partition will probably get wiped if you flash your phone and the links on the internal memory will definitely get wiped.
Easy steps:
backup your apps & data with titanium
flash and install new ROM
[preferably] change setting so that all apps are installed to internal memory
install link2sd and install script. Reboot.
restore apps from Titanium. Note: if you run out of internal memory while Titanium is reinstalling all your old apps, it will proceed to install the remaining apps on your SD using a2sd.

Another reason to do it via backup is that if you're using link2sd's dalvik-cache linking, the optimized dalvik may not match the new ROM. For example, I'm not sure I would wouldn't want to take optimized dalvik generated on a JIT-enabled 2.1 and run it on a 2.2.1 system or vice versa.

What do you mean by "install script" in the 4th step ? Titanium Backup's Backup / Restore is so confusing with Link2SD
Thanks

Restore SD Apps?

I keep my games and such on my SD card. After flashing a new ROM, how do I get them back?
Titanium Backup Works great. You backup your apps and then restore them after an rom change. Most people here will tell you the number one app is Titanium Backup PRO.
Pretty much cant do without it if you upgrade rams.

But these apps were moved to the SD card. Isn't there some way to find them on the card?

When you factory reset, it wipes the data partition on the card as well.

Set the Titanium backup directory to /Removable/MicroSD/TitaniumBackup (selecting a directory is not user friendly, use back key to up one directory).
ARHD offers Super_Wide_Lite that does not delete /sdcard partition, it is not fun to backup 10GB of data.
sorry posted in the wrong thread..deleted.

Restoring Apps with TiBu

So, I've done this plenty of times: back up apps on Titanium, wipe, flash a new rom and restore just apps. For some reason, TiBu is not bringing up the apps I backed to my external SD in my new rom on the S3. All configurations for restore are at "0", but I can navigate to my external SD on rootexplorer and see the back up I made. Any clues?
I don't believe backups have to be on internal SD, but could somebody correct me if I'm wrong and offer some solution, if possible.

If you've gone from a stock ROM to an asop ROM our the other way around then you need top go into TiBu's preferences and change the backup directory. The different ROM bases call the SD cards by different names.

Yea, so confusing, especially coming from the thunderbolt where everything is off the external SD...I had to end up moving the backups to the internal SD, which is fine.
Thanks for the reply man.

Backup App That will Backup Data

Sorry the title doesn't really explain it to well. I'm looking for an app that I can use to backup my applications with their data, that i can then restore after flashing CM10 to. I've tried Titanium and one other whose name escapes me. They'll backup/restore from ICS to ICS, but not to JB (backups do not show listed). Any suggestion would be appreciated.

Titanium Backup has worked perfectly fine for me. Are you sure you're not doing something wrong?

Not really sure what I could be doing wrong. I've run it as a batch job backing up all user apps, tried it with all user apps + system data. I've also made its own folder on my SD card and point backups to go there.
The bigger issue is the apps themselves get backed up, but none of the stored data with the apps do.. not sure if there's an option I need for that (guess it'd be cache?)

Check out this guide if you haven't got it to work out yet.
If that doesn't work either, just say something and hopefully we'll figure out what's going on!
I use Ultimate Backup by Jrummy
I use mybackup pro

Someone yesterday in another thread said that Titanium backups are saved to the sd card for touchwiz roms and for AOSP roms Titanium Backups need to be saved to the internal sd card. Could that be the problem?

I've used Titanium pro from ICS to JB with no issues. I don't do batch restores though, I'd prefer to re-download the app from google play then just restore the data. That way you have a clean install. I've had issues on other devices doing a batch restore. It's a little slower this way, but worth it to avoid FCs.
You have to remember that if you set the backup to the extSD then switch from ICS to JB the name of the extSD changes and you have to go into preferences and choose the backup location. That may solve the issue for you
I think the issue here is not fully understanding how titanium backup works. Whenever a full wipe is done/new rom installed and you reinstall titanium through the play store, it will show only the apps and data that are currently installed on that particular rom. Push the batch button, let it calculate scenarios, and your backed up apps and data will then appear along with the new rom's goodies. Hope that helps.
