You know, one of those things, you flash a ROM and then it gets ruined...
YOU CAN'T FIND ANY AUTO BRIGHTNESS DISABLE BUTTON! :O
What shall you do?
Well, I just made this app called disable ALS install it, hold down the search button, select DisableALS and watch your auto brightness disable!
The reason it gets enabled again when locking screen is beyond me, I think the lockscreen enables it.... but, after unlocking, you only have to hold the search button for a second.
This is temporary until FreeXperia manage to turn off the ALS

Thanks appreciated

Is there an app that will add turn wifi on/off option to the menu, with power down, airplane mode and silent mode, that shows up when you press the powerbutton?
It sounds like you need to be rooted. Then you can add almost anything to anything. OR search a power wiget on the market.
i dont think apps will be able to edit this dialog. you'll need to find a custom rom which implemented this feature (or ask a cook to do so..)
:'( that sucks should be an apparently to change them to whatever you want :-D
With something like Notification Toggle you could add it to your expanded notification bar if you don't want a widget on your homes screen.
So I really like how I can turn off my screen by tapping the lock key on the dock. However, it would be really nice to be able to turn the screen back on in the same way.
I've searched around, and haven't found anything about it really (unless I missed it, in which case I'm sorry).
Can this be done? Perhaps with something like a button re-mapper program??

Hi. I am trying to get my head round this tasker. I have learnt it to some extent, and can create profiles / tasks.
However, what I am trying to do (its for my blind wife really) is create a simple toggle that can be placed on the home screen or a toggle via a button press / combo to turn talkback on or off.
I have got as far as getting to the accessibility page with a keypress, but I`d like to actually TURN talkback on or off, instead of just getting to the accessibility screen (where I have to go into talkback and turn it on/off - hugely inconvenient if you need to go back and forth in apps).
I have tried other apps like Home2 shortcut which... gets me to accessibility screen
Anycut... accessibility screen
Xshortcut (really hoped this would work as it can "record" your actions... but get a permissions error)... no dice.
Can anyone PLEASE help me to accomplish this, it would hugely benefit the blind community, this is a big fail on googles part IMHO
Thankyou
Matty
I`m unsure if google allows this?

Hallo Matty
I've run into the same issue in trying to set up Talkback on my dad's phone. I see there was no response to your post. Did you find a solution elsewhere by any chance?
Mike
First, I want to give a big thanks to those who bring awesome 4.3 ROMs to Atrix 2 community
Second, this is a temporary solution to deal with screen rotation bug on 4.3 kexec
There're a lot of app that can force rotate, but I think the fastest way is hold down search key and the screen will rotate right away:
1. switch style to cycle
2. cycle setting > disable switch: choose auto rotate
3. tick Long press search

I'm a new Relay user and I can't use CM-10 (need wifi calling) so I'm trying to make the best out of the stock ROM Rooted. I don't like that the keyboard backlight goes out after a few seconds and doesn't seem to even have a sensor to keep it on in dark rooms so I re-downloaded the Tasker App from the Play Store which I haven't used in a while.
To get the keyboard to stay on when slid open I had to do the following:
1. Open Tasker.
2. Choose [Profiles] from the top menu.
3. Click the [plus sign] at the bottom to add a new profile and select [State] from the drop down.
4. Select [Hardware] from the State Category menu.
5. Select [Keyboard Out] from the list of choices here.
6. Tap on the Tasker Icon at the top of the screen and select [Backlight On] from the popup menu.
7. Make sure the toggle switch is set to on for your new profile.
8. Now go to you phone's Sytem Settings > Display > Touch Key Light Duration > and select Always Off (This will allow tasker to take control and have the keyboard backlight stay on when slid open but the Relay's back and menu keys will no longer light up. I can live with this to have my keyboard light on when typing.
9. If this didn't work, make sure Tasker is set to on in System Settings > Accessibility
BTW if someone knows a better way to accomplish this please share.
Edit: Sorry I forgot to mention that I'm using Nova Launcher. I think with the Touchwiz Launcher, apps that use accessibility cause Talkback to speak even if you have it turned off. I could be wrong about that but I had problems with the Light Flow app and accessibility before.
Nice
Good tip. the lights going out bugged me too.
please help. cant find menu with backlight on
Can't find menu with backlight on. Please help.
hey there,
i just figured out how to do this with a non-rooted phone on ics without tasker.
go to settings, display and touch key light duration. increase it to 6 seconds and that will give you enough time to type..
Weird.
I'm on CM10.2 (131117) and since I set the backlight time (in CM10.2 1309xx, I think) to 5 seconds it will always stay on if I open the hardware keyboard.
Maybe I should write me something with tasker to change this in the opposite direction
