I can tell you that the way to NOT install a ROM is to join a forum and have your first (or second) post be "How the hell do I put a rom on my phone???". In fact, you are flirting with being banned but I'll leave that up to the moderators. Read, read, and read. Look at the stickies and search. I made it easy in my signature. Take care now.

Please people stop with the "How do I root the gingerbread 2.3.3" questions and posting its getting quite observed!! One of the the rules for XDA is read before you post!! I apologize for the exclamation marks and for the attitude but it gets on my nerves when I log in to see if there's any progress or any method to root 2.3.3 and when I see postings with the title How to root 2.3.3 well it gets me excited!! And all for what?! To see another "how do I root it posting?! Please people be patient and it will come...

Ahahahaha soooooooo sorry!! I've been busy trying to perm root the EVO 3D and the EVO 5G... WiMax will no longer be available in my ROMS but I will be utilizing BIMAX lol I'm sorry guys I meant to place this in the General section and some how ended up in the dev section! lol if you see my prior posts I've been good in posting in the proper sections

I read a how to root the gingerbread thread the other day and s guy had it. His instructions were as follows: 1. Bury phone in ground. 2. Water three times a day. 3. Enjoy root for the gingerbread. I am new but those instructions seem kind of off. Step 2 I can see, but step 1 is just a little much.

It hasn't stopped people from posting threads like this in development. I mean, it's the first sticky and all.

You need to get S-OFF as well (use Hasoon's OTHER kit, or follow the links for JuoponutBear). Alternatively, since you're S-ON currently, you need to take a file out of the zip file and flash it separately first, then reflash the whole ROM zip. You'll find instructions on which file it is and how to do it if you search!

If you look under the captivate android development section you will find a beginner's guide that will explain how to flash a custom rom. It would be very difficult to show you here as it involves numerous steps and is dependent on what your current set up is on your phone. If you have questions pm me
