I was thinking how g2x has all this power and a small 4.0 screen so I was thinking of trading for a tablet. What u guys think should I do it?
Depends on the tablet.

A Transformer Prime might be worth it. I don't really see how the G2x being powerful would lead you to trade it for a tablet though.

I think its like having a V8 engine in a Civic. Its nice, but the engine can be better utilized, such as in a better car? Better car = bigger screen I'm assuming?

Eh.. I gave them a 6. Software and Support are horrible, but I felt the hardware is among the best. And combined with xda/rootzwiki, it's pretty nice. Plus, unlocked bootloader is nice (is this manufacturer or carrier?).
Zero seems a little unreasonable. I mean, it's your opinion so have at it, but if a company received a zero from me, the product would be beyond fixing and in the trash can.
I gave a 3. Without good software from the manufacturer, then you cannot fully utilize the hardware.

Good find! I gave them a peace of my mind...No support at all. That's not how you do business LG! If we didn't have talented and devoted developers this phone would've been a paper weight after the gingerbread "update" LG deployed.

I really look at LG as a hardware provider. I don't think anybody is happy on stock. After all the flashing and tweaking. (No drugs) I'm really happy. LG should just sell devices with root permissions, cwm, give credit due to devs who made this stuff possible (aka $) and keep them under warranty. Dunno how legal that would be but it would change everything.

Gave them a solid 3... agreed with you guys that said the hardware was great but software support severely lacking.
I'm still on the fence about trying the G4X when it comes out, but as mentioned we have such great dev support here on XDA and from Cyanogenmod that even though out of the box I'm sure the G4X will have awful software just as the G2X did, it will be only a matter of time for the guys here to build some properly-working and amazing ROMS for it as well.
LG really ought to be ashamed of releasing such great hardware with such terrible software preinstalled.
Nice find!!, hopefully we get a good amount of people that will fill this out
What's a good sub-$100 Android phone on the used market (not new) with huge screen? Just needs 2.2 or 2.3 Android. Doesn't need to be fast.
I need something for my Mom who has trouble seeing/typing. Planning to use it with this theme for elderly people:

Big screen isn't enough. Some phones have big screens and teeny tiny fonts. (Like the HTC Vivid.) The Skyrocket has nice big fonts, but not cheap. I don't have any suggestions; just warning you that a big screen by itself doesn't mean big fonts.

How big of a screen you looking for? I think you can find the non LTE ATT Galaxy S2 for under $100, as well as the Infuse 4G.
Not sure if you need it new but I just picked up a refurbed Skyrocket from AT&T for $20. Just got it today and I'm playing with it now. Looks new or close enough to new for me. I didn't want to pour a lot of money in either.

Yeah, development on the rezound is and has been slow. Some devs refuse to work on the rezound because they dislike the resound community.

That's ridiculous, it is not dangerous if you do it right, its amazing that the devs found that trick. The rezound is absolutely superior in every way (hardware and development) to the thunderbolt.

I just wish the t-bolt was thinner, other than that it seems to have enough hardware muscle to keep up and the development community is fairly active.

My opinion on "MY" Thunderbolt is that it is a good.. But not great device. Battery Life is poor. Other than that, the only real complaint about the device itself is that the proximity sensor used to turn the screen off while it's against my head hasn't worked since about the second week I had the phone.. My Tbolt has had a good run. I will have had it 2 yrs this November. It has gotten pretty beat up with dings, scuffs, and chips all over it and a cracked screen (right across the "home" soft key) but all in all its still kickin strong.
Compared to my buddy's gs3 I'd say it, at least appears, to be lacking. The gs3 is a pretty cool device but honestly I think it's more of the simple human need for bigger and better toys that separates the two.. I am running Liquid's ICS at standard processor speed and I didn't notice much speed difference between the two phones...
I think it really boils down to device specific features and how the phone looks and feels that make me choose a phone and with custom roms and the basic customization of the Android OS they can all potentially be equal in that aspect...
That's my... Idk... 50 cents haha..
Thanks for the share.. I'd say it sounds like the guy is just trying to say what he can to sell his Thunderbolt lol

They let the primary phone on an account upgrade 6 months early usually.

I know I saw an article about this and I don't know it anyone else has recently but it discussed the possibilities of manufacturers letting customers build their own device kind of how computer manufacturers do now.
I think this would be a really cool idea. I would love to just build a phone the way I want it but of course I would just throw together a phone with all the best specs
Realistically I doubt this would ever happen. It would take away control from carrier's and also manufacturers. They love having customers in the palm of their hands begging for a new device just 2-3 months after paying full retail for the one they currently own.
Just imagine how much that would change the cell phone industry?
Any input

Alienware is overpriced and overrated, much like apple(sorry I had to) the best way to build is just buy the parts yourself off of new egg or something similar. You will always pay less this way.

I agree, I've built every computer I've used for the last 15 years. I just like the aesthetic quality of Alienware's products and thought it would be nifty if they would put those design aspects towards a phone chassis and UI.
If I had the money.. I'd do it. Question then would be how to like your phone without it infringing on another.
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda premium
I think that would make developing ROMs and kernels for phones nearly impossible with there being such a huge variety in hardware. It would be really cool for sure, but I believe development would pretty much die.

Yea, then you could pay twice the price of the worth of the machine so you can get a little alien head graphic on it.:good:
I imagine there would be some some similarity due to the standards that would have to be put in place based on mobo size, case size, how everything fits together.... I'd still totally do it. Ive already heavily enjoyed building computers. Would give a nice sense of control over a device that can so easily erode privacy.

I haven't heard it yet but there is pretty much a unanimous agreement by professional tech sites that it has the best speakers on a mobile device right now. I seriously doubt the S4's tiny little speaker will beat that.
