Hi, I use Sebastian kernel (1836 Mhz) and it's great
Using Sebastian Kernels since I rooted my normal Sensation about a month ago and never had any problems. So big thanks to Sebastian. Always used 1.5 GHz version as I don't intend to kill my phone .
Thanks, while using it at 1.5 ghz do you notice a reduced battery life?
And does flashing a kernel delete my from. Will I need to back up my existing one?

Does not delete rom, this continues as before.
I use SebFM also, clocked to 1.78GHz, I have about 1-2% battery drain per hour when not in use.
thanks for the help, however I have used the kernel at 1.5 ghz, and after about 10 miuntes it lags out. any ideas?

Hi guys,
I have a sensation with an official rom ( HTC Europe 1.45.401.2, kernel 2.6.35.13-g3422292, radio 10.56.9035.00U_10.14.9035.01_m ). I made an update to android 2.3.4 and now it's S off et rooted with revolutionay, cw, busy box.
CPU is scaling on demand beetwen 192/1188mhz , i have cpu master. set cpu does not work with my sensation.
Could somenone tell me how to proceed to overclock my cpu ? what kernel ? and so on ....
thank you very much
You need to have a kernel that supports overclocking. There are a few available in the Development forum.
Though I HIGHLY recommend installing a custom ROM, as the performance difference is huge.
Hi, thanks for your answer, I tried an custum rom but it did not work for me ... maybe i did something wrong
I tiried Revolution HD but i did not succed. I have a few questions about this rom.
Is the kernel already included in the custum rom or do i have to flash it again ?
Does someone know if there is a kernel available pour original rom on 2.3.4 ?
thanks

Hi,
Which Revolution HD ROM did you install?
hi, i tried this one http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1098849 . i could not overclock
Have you tried the last of Leedroid with V7 ROM and program Overclock Virtuous? I have it and you can play around with the frequencies and see the stats you get with some Benchmark

Hi,
currently that ROM is using stock kernel.
Therefore it is not overclockable.
look in post 2 for any kernels that will allow o/c.
I don't own a laptop but I am rooted, s-off. Is there anyway for me to overclock without having to connect to a computer and flashing something?

Man just read the in dev forum...yu don't need a computer to get a custom kernel..yu can download it directly to the phone..then boot into recovery and flash it...but flashing is the only way to oc

How high can you OC? I flashed a kernel but it only allows me to go up to 1512... and for some reason I'm still getting lowish quadrant scoream.. Between 2200 and 2600.... Any ideas on why?

Quadrant is bs, as well as every other benchmarking app out there.

antutu benchmark is somewhat legit.. atleast it does not output totally different score at the end... like quadrant.

I get around 3100 at 1.2 GHz on 4.0.3 and sometimes I get scores in the 1900s...my feeling is that the second core for our SoCs don't always activate during benchmarks.
Thats mine on Virtuous Inquisition 3.0.0.
Could you please tell me what ROM are you guys using?

you are kidding with this question? Or are you really blind?
To the point.... I think second core sometimes forgets to activate and that messes up benchmark ... You must go through benchmark several times to get proper score...

first of all what rom and the reason it freezes is because your phone can't handle that high of OC.

1000Mhz=1Ghz so just do the math & you'll figure out where u need to set it & as Nick said, if u oc higher than ur phone can handle it's gonna freeze up so lower the oc. Every device handles oc'ing & undervolting differently & can even vary from ROM to ROM how high u can oc stabily

Am using viper 1.3.5 with latest bricked kernel.... I wanna Undervolt it for better battery life... Can any tell how can I adjust voltage levels using system tuner?
Sent from my HTC Sensation Z710e using Tapatalk 2
You can check xda for other posts and settings for system tuner. Also you can google for some other settings and ideas. It is really device dependant and you don't want to start out to aggressive. You will have to do some experimenting to see what works well with your device . If you get too aggressive it can cause system reboots so I would gradually try to increase the under volt to see what your device is comfortable with. Hope this helps out. Best wishes.

Hi,
The best kernel,is the one that works best for you.
A little trial and error is required.
Make a nandroid and install away.
They are all listed HERE
What he said
But keep in mind that trial and error means at least a couple of days with each kernel, as a kernel (or a rom for that matter) cannot be fully evaluated and appreciated within an hour or so..

Try them all and see which one works best . I've tried faux, bricked , and sebationfm, and anthrax. I'm using anthrax 384min 1404 max xondemand gov and I get anywhere from 16-18 hrs of the way I use my phone . If you wanna try anthrax just google anthrax kernel us. Also depends wich Rom your using sense or aosp. Some kernels are universal just read up on that kernel

I suggest Faux or Pacha
Faux' kernel is pure SH!T as he'd KANGING without permission and crediting all work to himself! Use ButteredToasT instead, no kernel get's smoother.
Thank you everyone for your comments it help
I will test every kernel for sensation and then I will post the benchmark scores.

Since it hasn't been mentioned, you can try my kernel (Sultan kernel). It's available for both AOSP and Sense ROMs. Links to my kernels' threads are in my signature.
EDIT: Haha, just remembered that you posted in my kernel's thread :silly:. In my latest post in that thread there is a GPU overclock init.d script that can raise your 2D GPU score a little bit (there's a bug in the newest release of my kernel where the 2D GPU doesn't overclock to 266MHz by default, it stays stock clocked at 200MHz by default, so you need to use an init.d script to get it to 266MHz. This won't be a problem once Axetilen finishes that amazing Aroma installer). You should be able to get 4,800 in Quadrant with that.

Nevertheless, people shouldn't use a mashup of multiple developers having invested thousands of hours of hard work stolen by a single guy named Faux123 claming everything to be "his own work". This piece of crap deserves to be permbanned for life.
faux gives a good battery life, but sometimes its a bit laggy. Bricked is smooth, overclocked kernel is more than fast
I'm using the bricked...it doesnt matter which kernels u use..just make sure it is compatible with yr Rom.....most important thing is that..keep the max btwn 1.4-1.7ghz for better performance...
