I have a little problem with the original twitter app...
I can't sync the contact of twitter with my phone contact.. i try all but doesn't work..
I try with some ROM, in the sense rom i can sync only with twitter for htc sense and in the no sense rom the sync doesn't work..
Any solution?

Well, for Sense ROMs, the Twitter for Sense is custom built for sync purposes... So if that is working you needn't bother with the Twitter app anyway. That takes care of problem no 1
As for syncing contacts on the non-Sense ROM (tickles me every-time I type that)... which one are you talking about?
P.S. : As far as contact syncing goes, you won't find anything better than Sense! Period.
At now i don't have a Sense with ROM..
And with the Twitter app i can't sync the contact with the phone becouse don't work..
I like to know if there is an app or a solution for solve this problem..

Hi folks,
As I knew that, from Sense 3.5 there would be no "Facebook for HTC Sense". However I do like it much because it syncs automatically my Facebook friend's informations such as email, birthday. Thus I do not need to add manually.
I did search but had no luck to have this app Can anyone help me on this issue?

If you log on the the Facebook app (get it from market if you don't have it) it will ask you if you want to authorise it for HTC Sense and then it works as Facebook for HTC Sense did on 3.0
Exactly. You will have the same functions of the Facebook for HTC Sense just using the normal facebook app.
When you add the account it will ask you to authorize HTC Sense on you're facebook account and voilà, you're done. Same results with only 1 account setted up instead of two. A big big improvement, more efficient, more elegant and more battery friendly (1 sync instead of two )
But I have a problem with the Facebook for HTC Sense in Sense 3.5. Facebook photos of my friends can be shown in all HTC apps (People, Message) but in Whatsapp, they're all empty. Previously in Sense 3.0 ROM, photos are shown correctly in Whatsapp. So there's an incompatibility between Sense 3.5 and Whatsapp?
One more issue i'm facing is that I don't get the status update of the person on my screen as was with the FB for HTC sense app.
ANyone else facing the same issue as me?

I have exactly the same issue with GOSMS - it appears to be using an old Facebook picture - does anyone know where Facebook for HTC Sense stored the pictures?
I'm pretty sure missing contact pictures can be fixed by booting into recovery and and selecting 'Fix Permissions'

Just tried that in recovery and makes no difference.
But I installed Line yesterday and found its contact list has photo shown correctly. So it maybe up to Whatsapp now to fix it.
i had similar problem.. I just booted recovery, wiped everything, reflashed rom, and voila.. I got all pictures set, with good quality..

today I did a little bit more test. I removed facebook sync account completely. to my surprise, whatapps is able to show contact photo again. these photos are from my gmail contacts, not from facebook.
I then add facebook account again and whatapps contact photo disappears.
so now its quite conclusive that whatapps is having problem with Facebook for HTC Sense in Sense 3.5.
Maybe, in some way, its bugged because you have several photos on one contact ( FB, Gmail and others)..
Try deleting all photos but 1 for each contact..

Thanks for the suggestion. I tried removing all other photos, leaving just Facebook photo. But no, it still doesn't show in Whatsapp.

It might actually be related to the photo itself. I have a friend who has a different photo in Gmail and Facebook. And these accounts are linked. If I change the default photo in People to Gmail photo, Whatsapp is able to show it. If I change it to Facebook photo, Whatsapp cannot.
So the problem is not the linkage but rather some attribute of the photo. And I'd say the resolution of the photo might be the culprit here since Facebook uses higher resolution while that of Gmail is very low. Perhaps Whatsapp is unable to handle that kind of resolution.
Of course, that's my theory only. Can others in this thread try to do something to see if I'm right or wrong?

The latest Whatsapp version seems to have fixed this problem. Now contact pictures are shown properly.

im still having the same problem
Problem still persists for me, though I used a workaround which is SyncMyPix app from Market. Pics are fixed, but that's just a workaround.

Hi, No you can't use any sense program as far as I know without sense running even if you have sense installed. As for facebook, when you install it and run for the first time it will ask you what you want to sync, I personally choose everything but it also will allow only existing contacts. If you need to access that again to change it can be found under settings and accounts. I also you friendcaster and that will sync your fb contacts with your phone as well. Hope this helps.

Seems to pull in the contacts alright, but it doesn't properly merge them with existing contacts.
I used HaxSync to sync my Facebook contacts

I prefer the HTC Contacts app so I installed HtcContacts.apk, ContactsProvider.apk and GoogleContactsSyncAdapter.apk from ARHD 5. Once all your contacts sync up, you can merge them and the changes do transfer over to the stock ICS contacts app if you still prefer to use that.
Edit: I also installed Facebook for Sense from the ARHD ROM, though I'm not sure it was required to get sync working.

While you're waitig for the thread to be moved by the mods, have a look at Endymion. I don't use it as I don't like Sense, so I stick with Reaper ROM, by Endy gets all the recommendations from the guys on here who do like to use a Sense-based ROM.

All you have to do is sign in to Facebook through accounts and sync. Then HTC Sense will request permission

Can I see than the contact-avatars from facebook in whatsapp? That is the only thing, that i want to have this option in accounts and sync....

whatsapp contacts sync has been messed up for a while anyway leading to alot of pictures not showing whether from facebook or the gallery.. twitter contact sync has also had problems recently and even got removed not sure if it's back.. anyway as others have said Q and A forum this is marked DEVELOPMENT

I use FriendCaster Pro for Android. It syncs hi res pics from facebook, and whatsapp picks them up beautifully.

I'm sure you mean Facebook for HTC Sense.
That actually is a system application that syncs all Facebook data with your HTC phone.
It's alright if you don't have it. It is still present on your phone, you just can't access it directly.
(For example, if you go to people and check your Facebook contacts, it will have the person's latest updates, photos, etc. That is how Facebook for HTC Sense works.)

It doesn't matter, because Facebook for HTC Sense is only responsible for integrating Facebook contacts into your phone and providing you access to their photos and updates through the People application. So, don't worry, you have it on your phone, it just doesn't show up in Accounts & Sync anymore.

All of the Facebook versions I've used have had the options to sync my friends into my contacts and I've used many, I switch roms very often and so download Facebook regularly.

hi guys ...as you know in htc sense roms ,facebook contacts are automatically added to the contact list even with the number which they had updated on their facebook profile.....but in cm or aokp roms this doesnt work at all...we can sync the facebook contacts to get their profiles and profile pics ....i dont need that....before in sense rom i had no problems with facebook contacts as i can make calls to them if though their number isnt on my phone ..........but now...i cant do anything......please anyone get rid of this ..if though please tell me....because i have bundle of friends which have thier phone number on profiles and i didnt update or backup their numbers ..now i cant do anything..even though i can revert back to sense rom and add facebook cntact nos to google....i would probably add more friends which have phone number in their profile......so please find a solution or give me sugestion if you know anything about it????

1. You can try Haxsync app from playstore (paid app)
2. try AOKP JB RC3 rom - it says fb contact sync in its features description
3. Follow this tutorial [niranjanthilak(dot)com/facebook-sync-for-android-ics-devices/] [replace (dot) with . ]- (gives multiple options)
Frankly...I've tried them all and some other things also..even disassembled contactsprovider.apk with the help of the above tutorial...
But NONE of them gives me the expected result as we get on sense...
The best way is to flash a new sense based rom...workes perfectly...
Suggestion - try Apex Sense V1 Rom by Apex-Predator - its faster than other sense roms and u also get a taste of ICS and sense 4

Sync.me ,HaxSync or Friendcaster Pro also has contact sync with hd pictures too :good:
these apps only create a contact with fb profile link with the latest fb profile pic...I dont think these apps sync phone numbers from fb account..do they?
