Text as Multimedia message - Windows Phone 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I would like to send long text as multimedia message. How can I do? In android I add object to message, but I dont know How It is there.
I have HTC 7 Trophy with WinPhone 7

Two options:
1: Attach a photo or something.
2: Enable the Group Messaging option, and add an additional recipient (could even be yourself, I think).
There may be others, but those are the ways that I know of to force MMS.

Block incoming calls

Hi, I don't know if a post has been put up, but I don’t know what to search for. I was wondering if any knew of any software on windows mobile 5 which will enable me to block specific incoming calls from my phonebook or calls as private or unknown numbers and sms/text messages.
Need something like this badly
MDA pro
This may be what you are after
I use Inesoft Address Book and it offers the functionality you require, except for text messages. The large contact photos and other enhancements are also very good.
THANKS mosgeo
Many Thanks mosgeo for you promt reply. Am downloading the cab version from the site. is this a full version?
Yes, completely non-crippled for 14 days. The bit you are looking for is the 'Incoming calls' menu item on the Today tray (bottom right, silhouette icon).
Incidentally, I found the Today ABC plugin took up too much room (and possibly slowed things down, not sure) and removed it via the options.
RE: CALL FILTERINGSOFTWARE
Hi Digigem download from here- it's free and work for me (all credits go to Murphy):

Good AIM program that uses SMS?

Hey guys, I am looking for a good AIM program that uses SMS and not data. Free would be awesome too if possible. Thanks guys.
I tried OZ Messenger but for some reason it won't intercept the incoming text message saying that it signed on. Like it will send the text message to the user and not the program, so the program does not acknowledge that it has signed onto AIM through SMS.
Isn't this how AIM Mobile works?

Check out IM Forwarding and IM to Mobile options. Both of these use SMS messages. AIM Express uses a net connection (so thats not what you are wanting).
A number of people I work with (with basic phones) use IM Forwarding and IM to Mobile and they receive and send messages to AIM contacts via SMS.
There may be better solutions, but I do know these work.

I use IM FORWARDING, I wish there was a program that you could just save your buddylist to and send text to their screen name.
There's a certain format you can type to send from your phone to a screen name.

here's a good read.
Just create a new contact with their name and their IM under the IM category. It will send the message to their IM address but you won't be able to tell if they're online.
to sign on
send a text message to number 4646 - in your text message type SCREENAME(space)PASSWORD example bobster PaS$W0rd111
to sign off
send a blank text message to number 4647 to sign off
get you buddy list
send a text message to 4650 - in your text message type list
to get the number associated with the buddy
send a text to 4653 - in your text message type help
beware - it sends a list of 7 buddies per text. So if you have 140 screen names on your list, expect 20 text messages.
to send a instant message to someone from your buddylist
send a text to the number associated with their number
to send a instant message to an unlisted screen name
send a text message to 4654 - in your text message type SCREENAME: (space) message example bobster: hello

WM 6.1 & Group Txt (Multiple recipient) burden

I've come across an burdening issue sending a txt with multiple recipients. Though the grouped chat style text messaging is an incredible advantage, there are some cons and i'm wondering if they can be fixed somehow.
Because of the chat style text messaging, your first outgoing message gets coped to your inbox. Is there any way for the first outgoing message to NOT be copied to your inbox?
This poses an issue for when you are sening a mass/group text message. For example, if i send out "Happy New Year" to 50 people in one text, i get 50 outgoing copies in my inbox.
Suggestions?
i would like to be able to select multiple recipiants while in contacts like the old 8525 instead of having to add each one manually, anyone have a fix for that?

use an app called group sms.
if you go to your sent items folder for sms and delete that message, it will remove it from all the recipients.. easiest fix i found

Verizon Special Messaging.

As many of you know being on Verizon comes with some special privileges such as sending and receiving messages 1000 characters long, adding emoticons and animations, seeing when someone has read your message (the little box that changes from an arrow to a check). But unfortunately these features are absent on many smart-phones including the HTC Touch Pro 2. Perhaps some of you computer savvy people could develop a patch to utilize these advanced utilities that Verizon offers?
yeah but the thing is. you can only send one message 160 charater limit if ther person is not on verizon. with GSM (att/tmobile) yeah theres still a 160 limit but after it goes past that limit it creates a new message. and if i want one long txt with smileys i can just do it in a MMS message
so to get those featues like EMS (smileys in txt sounds)you just have to do it in pic message.
Actually, with verizon it will break up the message into multiple 160 character messages and send it all out. I have been able to send 600+ character messages and it breaks them up and is received individually, the only caveat is after the last message it also sends out a "preceding message modified, media items have been removed" (or something to that effect) message, which i find annoying as hell but at least it works. Might not on all vzw phones, but all smart/pda phones i have used it does this. Maybe its is something with the arcsoft messaging client but vzw is the only one i have seen that sends out the extra message at the end of the rest of them.
Sorry to dig up a old thread, just came by it while researching another issue.
I know this doesn't answer your question the way you want, but the real solution here is to use MMS or email, not SMS! Email can handle attachments and high character counts.
As noted above, these non-standard features only work if both the sender and receiver are on the same system. Anyone outside of Verizon isn't going to be able to see your smilies or whatever.
This is by design, and isn't a bug or programming shortfall. "SMS" stands for "Short Message Service." My belief is that if one can't convey what needs to be said within the character limit of a single text message, it's better to use email or voice.

Group Message as Picture Message

I am running Mango Beta 2 on my HD7 and whenever i use the new contact group message feature some of my friends get a picture message instead of just text. Anyone else having this issue and know of a fix?

Disable "Group text" in the messaging settings panel.
Of course, this also limits the ability for the phone to group these messages together as intended. The only way for the phone to know that these messages are "grouped" is by MMS, because MMS inherently allows additional information to be attached to it (such as header information, kinda like how e-mails can have additional hidden details attached to them). Without this additional information, a text message is pretty much just a line of text with a phone number attached to it.
That makes sense. Thanks for that
