Hi guys,
I've run into some problems, I installed Android Revolution HD 6.5 two days ago. Everything worked like a charm, now I shutted down my phone to go in recovery, sadly enough my phone won't reboot, does not charge nor does it respond to my desperate pushes on the power button. Anyone experienced anything like this?
Worth mentioning also is that the battery was 80+% charged.. So it would seem strange to me that this would anything to do with eventual dead battery.
Just to be clear: hadn't installed anything, nothing less, nothing more.
If I could just get acces to bootloader through usb or anything like this.
I fear that there is someting seriously wrong here?
What are you guys thinking? Any possible solutions?
Hi,
The same thing more or less happened to me.
My phone went dead one night and wouldnt turn on, charge or connect with the PC. I had already arranged a repair with HTC for another issue and so I sent it off to them and a few days later I now have it back and it is working fine so far.
They replaced the mainboard and a few other bits and pieces all under warranty.
I hope you get your phone fixed and sorted asap.

Hi,
Is there any chance the battery pins could be damaged or bent?
Is there any way for you to get hold of another battery(from a shop or friend) and try that?
I will test the battery in the laboratory tomorrow.. I've read you should get a minimum of 3.6V or something like that? Curious to see what has caused this problem. Do you think htc would see I flashed a custom rom on it if I send it to repair?

Hi,
That is why i suggest a different battery.
If they can switch it on,they will see the s-off.
If they cannot,it does not matter.

They don't use a JTAG unit or anything like that to see what has went wrong than I presume? Well, first thing I'll do is test it right away at the laboratory. I will post the result in the evening.

My sensation was rooted and had a custom ROM on, but I was preparing to send the phone back in when it got bricked. I had managed to install stock rom and do S-on but the phone had an unlocked bootloader using HTC dev website, so I was worried they wouldnt do the repair.
As it happens they did all the work under warranty and didnt say/ mention having unlocked bootloader. It has come back locked though.
Was anybody able to find a fix for this?
My sensation 4g has basically the same problem. After rooting and installing ICS it worked fine for a few days then it ceased booting or responding to a charger (no LED response). I was able to turn on the phone again by letting it sit for a while but no luck lately. I'm wondering if my phone is bricked?
When I press the power button the screen stays black with lights on (no LED).
I can't get into bootloader and the phone is not detected by ADB, I tried the unbricking project thread by Dexter, however my phone is not detected by linux. On windows, i did get it to detect as qhsusb_dload.
Any thoughts would be helpful!
Thanks

If your getting QHSUSB DLOAD I'm so sorry to tell you as I believe your device is HARD BRICKED. You can try jtag. If you search there are several companies who will jtag. I'm wishing you the best and I'm sorry about your device.

I had to return my HTC Sensation to the repair center. Apparently the motherboard just fried. I got a new motherboard and just S-OFFed the phone again. Very weird problem though. As has been said in this post earlier, if they can't turn on the device they won't see it is S-OFFed and your warranty will apply.

Ok, so I had recently flashed MIUI sense based, I realized it wasn't for me so I restored my backup of TrickDroid 6.1. After doing this I went through and decided to delete some some stuff because my space was getting low (not 5mb low, more like maybe 1/2gb), I went to delete the MIUI v4 2.7.6 file and the phone appeared to go into standby... I tried to wake it up again with no luck. Plugging it into a charger does nothing, no red light; no green light. I'm unable to get into bootloader mode, no matter how long I hold down the "down volume + power" combo or any variation of it.
I need one of the gurus to help please !!!!
maybe post this in general or q&a?
any adb connection? if it's in standby then you may be able to move along to the next step

Did u try hold the power? It'll reboot?then hold volume down about 10s.it should go to bootloader
2nd Option: use all-in-one tool kit.it has a command to reboot.

I cannot get the phone to power on at all, no bootloader, no splash screen, nothing recognized by my pc. I get a "QHUSB_DLOAD NO DRIVER FOUND"
Thoughts?

If it can't boot or use adb command.i think u should contact with HTC for helps,or at least where u buy the mobile. And of couse u still have Warranty.
It may be a hardware problem. We here can only try if it is a software problem.at ur position, the device can't be recognized by Computer/Laptop (before this,it worked well right?),then i think bad luck.
Don't be despair, it'll have some way to solve.

Sorry to tell you man the same thing just happened to me. I just got a replacement from T-Mobile. You will not get that thing back on. Just call T-Mobile and tell them it won't power on nor will it charge. It's funny because I was adding music to mine when it happened. If it happened the same way mine did then you will notice it was really hot when it shut off. The MDJ kernel overheated the Processor and killed it. Once that happens the device is a useless brick. I'm trading my replacement for another phone because this phone happens to overheat a lot.

Going tomorrow to the Tmo store to get the replacement sent overnight.

Hello all \o
So, I have a sensation, on which I was running the hyperSensation rom, (s-off, root etc).
Anywho, a friend of mine borrowed it for a little while, and before he gave it back to me, he did a factory reset on it.
Now, the phone appears dead. It won't turn on, I get nothing when plugging it to my computer or charger.
What's wrong? Is there anything I can do?
Apologies if anything is unclear, but I'm not a pro at this
Any help is greatly appreciated!
I believe that your going to have to reflash the Rom.
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G
So it won't turn on at all? Have you tried removing battery placing battery back, pressing power and volume down at the same time to boot into recovery. If that works and you have done a backup you can restore this way. Go to recovery, backups/restore and restore your backup Rom this way. Have you tried this? Hope this helps. I've restored this way before when I've gotten in a bind. But hopefully you do have a backup. Give it a shot and see if this works for you.

Tell your friend he/she owes you a phone. And get a Nexus 7 to compensate you for your "pain and suffering". Did your friend pee on it?!
Back to the issue at hand. Do you have another battery to test out the phone? OR when you plug the phone in and hold the power button down (for 10 seconds) does the LED flash at all?
Does your computer recognize the phone at all when plugged in?
Sounds really bad. Try a new battery if that doesn't work and suggestions don't work sounds like you need a replacement. What the heck did he do to your phone, and why?? I'd say he owes you a new device! That's for sure! Why was he messing with the internal part of the device anyway?

You should have a try at this solution : Sensation Unbrick provided by Dexter93. Do read, understand and follow the guide and probably your phone will boot from the death.
Don't mess with Ubuntu version, take the 10.04 for 32bit, it's mandatory to succeed.
Thanks again for all your suggestions and tricks!
I tried pulling the battery for 10 minutes (more like 30, but does that matter?)
The LED does not flash at all when connected to the computer or not (holding power for over 10 sec).
Unfortunately I don't have a spare battery or anyone with a sensation I can try with, but I've been looking around and they don't cost much, so I might just buy one and hope it's that.
That unbricking thing seems a bit over my level, but if all else fails, I might give it a go.
Thanks again all
Earlier, i was just playing around on my phone then all of a sudden the phone froze. I then rebooted it and it seemed to fix it for a couple of minutes, but then it decided to freeze again. (this then continued to happen a couple more times, then finally it just stopped.)
My phone now wont turn on,it wont connect to the computer, i cant access bootloader and now i do not know what i can do.
Does anyone know what i can do to fix it? I have a nandroid back up but i cant even access boot loader / recovery so i can flash it.
Thanks.

Did the phone heat up when it froze? If yes, then leave it there. Maybe for a couple of hours.
Last time such thing happened to my device was when I OC-ed too much, then it froze and died just like yours.
Pulled out battery, walked for half an hour, put it back in, worked! (it happened a few times to know its because of CPU clock)

My phone wont even turn on anymore. I literally did nothing that would have cause the device to brick.
It is starting to look like hardware failure, even though it did work for a while.
Not that this will automatically resurrect your phone, but try leaving the phone and battery in your refrigerator overnight and try again the next morning. It's worked for some people before and you've got nothing to lose.
Maybe some hardware parts are way too hot (CPU, GPU).
The sensation automatically turns off if some parts of the phone are too hot. The reason I think this is because you were playing games, and games can cause the phone to overheat. A Lot.

it wasn't really that hot when it finally turned off for good (I have felt it much hotter than that.)
And the phone has been off for a fair few hours now and it still wont turn on.
(there is also no charging light when plugged in)
There's no charging light even when you plug it in the PC? What about adb? Does your PC recognize your device? Does it say something like QHSUSB_DLOSD?
If you answered no to all those questions, then you have a hard brick and may need to replace your motherboard...

Hey Guys,
a friend of mine just bricked his HTC-OneS and I'm here to help him get it back to life
He installed the latest PacMan Rom and everything was awesome.
All over sudden the Phone didn't boot up anymore.
It can be charged via USB, so maybe one can do something over USB
Windows-PC doesn't recognize the Phone he says...
As far as I remember its an HTC One s ville c2 (is there anything like this)
Due to the Fact that I'm a Motorola User, I have no idea where to start trying to recover his Phone...
Please Help me do it
do you know how to use some adb/fastboot commands? run fastboot oem getcid in the bootloader.
hold down volume down and power to go into the bootloader.
I would try to get into the bootloader first. That would provide a gateway to possibly fixing his (or her) phone.
Hope to get into bootloader, will get hands in his phone in monday.
Coming from Motorola i'm used to a factory tool where i can flash official Firmware via PC. Is there anything like this for HTC phones?
If not first thing i would try is flashing a New recovery system via fastboot to have sth to work with. Anyone agree with this plan?

I don't think I've ever seen a tool like that. I think the best bet would be to get into recovery, mount and try to flash a new rom (C2 roms in this case).

Yes, go to androidruu.com, look for villec2 and click on it. The latest RUU should work unless he is carrier branded. Then you will need to use a carrier RUU.

The little charging LED is red, is it possible that there is some kind of battery driver missing, so the phone won't charge anymore and the battery is empty?
and is there an option to solve this?

Really sounds like it is hard bricked.
I could mention things that you have already most likely tried.
Holding power down for 30 seconds
holding power down for 10 seconds under bright light so the front sensor registers (prevents messing up your phone while in your pocket)
when plugged in computer, does device manager show it as "qhsusb_dload" (bricked)
Hold power down and volume down for 10 seconds. release power button and continue holding volume down.
From replies from manufacturer that people post here, often they replace the battery and (motherboard?) Seems like something happens and a sudden battery discharge messes up the works.

So quick question, due to the fact that the Phone is hard bricked, can i send the Phone back in, and get things fixed, cause the Phone was s-off and rooted before, so warranty is void.
Is there any way they could find out about it? Like a blown fuse or anything?

Your guess is as good as mine. There was one guy who posted here, that they did fix it, and when they sent it back they had turned back on security, or S-on. So they obviously knew and didn't care. One of those ymmv. I kind of doubt he did anything wrong and it is a defect. People post on here with completely stock w/ same symptoms.

Hey Guys,
I'd like to request some help regarding to my cellphone.
The cellphone is A 2 year old Htc sensation.
Did always do his job fine, never any problems, always had a spare battery so I could change battery's when the first one was dead.
The phone is Rooted, custom rom with ViperS 5.1.0. S-off.
So I was playing a game, and, a well known problem is that the sensation shuts down at whatever 5% sometimes, so that happened, the phone shut down.
I then put it on the charger, the light went on for a couple of seconds, and went out.
Since then I didn't see any sign of life on my sensation again.
I tried booting it with the spare battery, fully charged in a external charger.
I tried letting it charge overnight, maybe it would work again.
I tried putting it in to the bootloader.
I tried connecting to the pc, but that one doesn't recognize anything aswell.
Since it's +2 years old, I don't have any warranty anymore.
Does anybody know a solution or something? Or did anyone else experience this as well?
Or is the phone completely dead?
I'd like to hear from you guys!

Try doing the wire trick you do to s-off the phone, it helped me boot mine. Make sure you do it while it's connected via USB.

What did you do exactly, can you describe it?
Do I have to run the juponutbeer aswell?
Hope to hear from you & others

I removed the battery, connected USB, reinserted it, jammed the wire in there a couple of times until it came back to life. Took quite a few tries but that may be my shoddy wire rather then the method. No need for the juopunotbeer software to run.

You had an SD card in it aswell i assume?
But did your PC recognize the phone when you connected it?
Mine does nothing, tried a few times now
EDIT: He just did: Searching for Drivers.
Drivers not installed
But I disconnected it again, maybe if it will connect again I can do something else?

That means it's probably in QHUSB mode. You can retry the wire trick a couple more times to see if it comes out, if it doesn't, there's a unbricking tool in the development forum here somewhere to get it out of there.

If you can get it to connect again, you should try this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1522351
Otherwise, I'm out of ideas, haven't bricked my sensation that often

Hi!
It makes that windows sound when you connect a USB drive or something else, but it doesn't show up in the Device Manager from windows.
Will the brick thing still work, even if it doesn't show up in windows device manager?
I saw some movies on youtube where you saw: QHUSB_DOWNLOAD unknown device or something, but that doesn't show for me...
Hope to hear from you or someone else
Allright, we Continue.
I have it in QHSUSB_DLOAD now @ windows, after trying the wire trick a couple of times.
I tried it at linux aswell, but how am I able to recognize when it connects?
Windows makes a sound, but ubuntu??
How to hear some solutions from what to do now, and how to get it connected in ubuntu
