[Q] Samsung Captivate Glide

I'm planning to buy a new phone and this phone comes up as one of the few that I am thinking of. I do need it to be unlocked and rooted...
Any developers thinking of picking up this phone? Or this phone is dead on the water?

I actually just bought one last night, and was wondering the same thing.
I'm a *nix guru (coming from an n900) and would be happy to start playing around, but I am new to Android.
I haven't been able to find the stock firmware yet, which makes me nervous; even if I (soft)brick, I'm hosed.
If anyone manages to find the stock Samsung rom (or even the Rogers one), let me know, and I'll get started rooting.

I picked up the Rogers version, Galaxy S Glide, and Im pretty excited to see some custom roms for it.
Also, where is the best place to post and find info about this phone? I dont think there is a dedicated section on XDA yet.

Anyone interested in this device should help out with a request!

We need to somehow get the mods to make a Samsung Captivate Glide forum before anything will happend...
Although for it to warrant a forum I'm guessing we need a lot of people (that has the phone) and developers that want to do something to the phone.
We have one person for developer here, I guess we need more?
And we need to contact a higher person on XDA....
Anyone knows anyone?

well i dont see why i got my cousin to root it i mean i dont know anything about roms or anything hell at first i thought oh hell yea more games for my emulators lol sad i know but hell my phone model aint even on it to download roms just seems like something that would cost me alot of money but plz if there is a way plz let me know ty

[Q] straight talk - no data not apn issue

So i have been with ST since last august, started on an iPhone 4 then moved to the sgs2, just sunday my phone wouldnt pick up data, i had it shut off to preserve battery as i do most the time with this phones horrible battery life... i flashed a new rom and still no luck, this phone as with any sucks without data! has anyone else had this problem? i thought maybe a straight talk esn sweep or something finally happened but i cant find anything about it on the internet anywhere :\ hopefully something stupid thats fixable.

Opps, sorry about that. Has No one else ran into this problem? It's really aggravating not having data at all.

I put my son card in my moms att sgs captivate and her sim card in my phone, set the apns accordingly and not neither phones get data even with her sim card back in her own phone. Am I banned from data or something?
