[Q] Help please - HTC Sensation

Hi, I rooted my phone and tried a rom, but I forgot to change the version of the radio so now I can't boot into anything except recovery mode and bootloader I forgot to backup so I've been trying to do this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1412618
But it keeps saying installation aborted.
Please help me get back to a stock version or something so I can use the Android Revolution Rom!
Phone is a regular sensation not the XE one

Need more information. By radio version do you mean firmware update? What steps have you done? What does your h boot screen say?

NOOB help requied

Hello everyone.
I've been reading this forum for a while now but never had the guts to root my phone and install custom ROMs. Now I'm tempted to root and play around with my new sensation xe. Please tell me where should I begin from, and kindly note that I'm a total newb in this matter. Links to basics of rooting are most welcomed, and specially what I need to root a Sensation XE. Also I need ROMs with beats audio.
Many thanks in advance.

Just follow this step by step:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1192300
As above and I use the Elegancia ROM. Works just about perfectly for me.

Just so you will know any Gingerbread ROM (Android 2.3.0 to 2.4.3) can have Beats Audio installed on it if it does not have it. Go to here to check out the thread. It is a recovery flashable .zip file. It currently does not work on any ICS ROMs (Android 4.0.0 or higher).
If you get rooted....and are interested a Sense 4.0 rom I strongly suggest Ordroid its very stable now and beats finally works like a charm....be warned Shinzlon is a monster when it comes to updates so you will be wiping and flashing new versions every other day as he perfects it
Make sure you read a lot because you need a different firmware to flash ICS roms....

Thanks a bunch guys. I think I'll spend some time reading before I get to action.

Alright. I got s-off'd using revolutionary and successfuly backed up my data using recovery.
I want to install ARHD ICS ROMs but it seems I need a firmware upgrade. Some posts say I have to use 4Ext recovery to flash ARHD. Is that possible to flash ARHD with current recovery I have?
Sent from my HTC Sensation XE with Beats Audio Z715e using XDA
Both are correct. 4ext recovery can be downloaded from the market and flashed that way. Also did you flash the superuser.zip after you S-off'd?? Might be worth doing that. It's also worth super CIDing too. Its fairly straight forward and is done via fastboot. There are plenty of guides on how to do it. Once that is done download the new firmware from the ARHD thread along with the superwipe script and the rom itself. Put these on the root of your SD card. Boot your phone into recovery and it should automatically flash the new firmware. Afterwards power off and remove the SD card. Put it in your PC and remove the firmware from your SD card otherwise you will get bootloops. flash the superwipe script then flash the ROM. Then enjoy.......

Read somewhere that ARHD ROMs install 4EXT recovery when they're flashed.
Please answer this question of mine: can I still install ICS if I don't supper cid?
Sent from my HTC Sensation XE with Beats Audio Z715e using XDA
I dont know if ARHD flashes 4ext. Not sure they do though. Its easier just to do it first then you know its done, rather than run into problems. Its easy to install, like i mentioned it can be done from the market by just downloading the app. You have to be rooted though so, again
did you flash the Superuser.zip after you S-Off'd???
I think you can install ICS without supercid but you need to install the firmware that matches your CID. Its worth supercid though as then you can flash anything you want.

No I didn't install superuser.zip. it wasn't mentioned in the guide I followed. By the way is it ok to have 2 recovery at the sale time? I have recovery bow and if I install 4EXT would it replace the current one?

Go here
http://unrevoked.com/rootwiki/doku.php/public/revolutionary
Scroll down to the common problems and questions. Read the one about root. Download that file and flash through recovery.
4ext will overwrite Cwm. You can only have 1 recovery.

I'm sorry for being a newb here but can help je through installing an ARHD ics Rom?
Right now I have s-off, Recovery installed. My hboot version is 1.17.1111
What's next for me?
Sent from my HTC Sensation XE with Beats Audio Z715e using XDA
No you can only have one re over at a time as the internal NAND storage only has one recovery portion. Also no custom ROME flashes a recovery with it, they justflash the system portion and the boot partition.

Flashing roms

Hi I'm a bit of a noob to the sensation xe and was trying to get custom roms flashing. I'm unlocked via HTC dev but showing s-on I have Su and cwm installed so can back up, restore ect but when i download a Rom zip and try and install it by cwm the phone hangs on what I think is the boot screen, this has happened for a few different roms and i always have to restore my backed up original Rom. Please any ideas as this is doing my head in. Also hard boot is 1.27..
Which from what I have read can cause issues.

you can flash whatever rom you want. read the guides and make sure you understand whats up. if your really jacked up flash an RUU, then read the guides fully and start over. no harm doing it that way. Flash a 2.3.4 RUU or and ICS RUU,

good thing you didnt do the recovery from soff ...and no need to care for bootloader unlock ..as you have much better unlocked bootloader after soff by revolutionary ...
now in general section ..go to flashing 3.33 and arhd rom thread by joaquinf (sticky in general section) ..and follow that guide to letter ..to have a working ICS ROM (post #1 and post #2 in that thread)
EDIT:and for thanks there is a thank button to say that

Help needed please

I unrooted the sensation xe today. No experience with HTC whatsoever. By mistake installed RUU Gingerbread 2.3.4... but of Sensation instead of Sensation xe.
Now have all specs showing of Sensation like 1.2 GHZ and no Beats Audio, etc.
My question is this :
I have downloaded now ICS update RUU file ( the correct one for sensation xe ) but it says that my phone Must Be a Sensation XE and nothing else.
But after this installation of Sensation RUU , isn't my phone just Sensation now or I still can update with power off into bootloader from this ICS RUU since in reality it is a Sensation xe ?
Or do i need to install a Sensation xe gingerbread first before I upgrade ?
Please advice. I don't want to plug in my usb and install wrongly.
Any way out please ?
Thanks in advance.

Number one what's your objective meaning what are trying to achieve you could have found a xe ruu instead and my suggestion if you won't the ruu for the xe you will have to read before flashing don't get me wrong I'm not trying to be rude but this could have been avoided had you did a bit more reading and ask question's before running that ruu but let me do some searching around to see what I can find and I'll get back with you on the result's sit tight well I'm back and its a no go on the ruu for the xe strange though you think it would be in available but it isn't and also you could check with your carrier's web site for your device and it may point you in the right direction I don't know but it's worth a try I'm with tmo u s and thats how I found the latest update for my senssation and you could have a look here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1326631

Use 4EXT Recovery then enable smart flash.
And for S-OFF I would recommend it because it will make life a lot easier
